What a lovely stay! Everyone has their own space. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. Even had a stocked BBQ we used for our last night. Upstairs family room had videos and games to play and served as a huge gathering space. Host was amazing and answered every question I had within minutes. Very safe neighborhood within walking distance of stores. We came from California and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and time to meet our Joplin Missouri family. This home has an interesting history and I’m so glad we got to get to know the Josephine home. Thank you again for your lovely hospitality.
Thank you very much for letting us stay in your beautiful nostalgic home!

Loved all of the rooms/themes. The Christmas decorations were a wonderful addition. The M&Ms box in the den was too funny.
Great idea to have tourism brochures for guests.
I enjoyed reading about the history of the house. Side doors made more sense after reading about history lol.
Plenty of parking! Was nice since we had so many visitors.
This was an ideal location for us to be close to family. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out and visit.
Nightly price was reasonable, drives me nuts how so many VRBOs charge you extra fees. Is the service fee required?
Would be great to have Wi-Fi but understand why you don't.
We are regular VRBO customers and have used many all over the U.S. so we are listing a few things we noticed that would have made our visit even nicer.
Dirty towels behind the door and underwear under the bed in horse room. Nice to hang towels but no where to hang clothes if we used it for towels.
Trash on floors in upstairs hallway and kitchen floor left from guests before us.
Trash cans in bedroom would be nice, bathroom trash cans were very small for so many people.
In future invest in better mattresses.
Washcloths and hand towels and places to hang them.
Tub and shower not very clean. Tub overflow leaks straight to the floor. So if you put your hand under the faucet to check it or make any wave in the tub it leaked out the overflow hole to the floor. We mopped it up but might be nice if it was sealed up.
Night light in bathroom would be nice
We came to Missouri for a long overdue family reunion. The house was so unique and has been brought back to much of its original luster. The host was so accomodating and pleasant. It is a work in progress and not perfect. Some areas of the porch need a little work and a little more care could be taken with cleaning but overall we loved the house and history and would come again.
We had 9 people come in town for my
boyfriends graduation from the Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine medical school- Joplin Branch. This house was the perfect location and perfect space for all of us! It is spacious and has a lot of places to hang out and all be together. I love the details in each bedroom and the victorian style design. The temperature in the house was easily controlled. Even with a lot of people we were all able to shower with warm water. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed! We loved the history of the house, and all of the things to look at. The owner was very communicative with me throughout the stay and offered directions and to pick things up such as trash bags if needed!
Step back into the 20th century with this elegant Victorian Mansion. Not pristine but very nice and so roomy and comfortable for large families. Especially appreciate the house already decorated for Christmas! Would rent again.
It was exactly what we needed. The entire family was able to stay together. We loved the history of the house and it uniqueness. It was spacious yet cozy. We enjoyed the time we spent at the house. The only complaint we had was the railing on the outside steps worried is because of the children and there was not internet for this property most vrbo I have ever rented have this available.
This home is spacious and has plenty of room for a large family to enjoy Webb City and other surrounding areas. Our "framily" spent an extended weekend exploring the area during the day and enjoying what this historical home had to offer in the evenings. We spent hours on the wrap around porch and enjoyed the atmosphere around us. Jenni was very helpful and very responsive to all of our questions. we were already planning a trip back before our trip was over. We look forward to another amazing stay in this historical beauty!

Not as expected
While it's a beautiful house there were several issues we had with the property. Holes in the bathroom where a medicine cabinet was removed and not replaced, only covered with a mirror that did not cover it , behind the sink, in same bathroom the drywall was cut out exposing insulation and pipe. Kitchen cupboards needed scrubbing which we did. Windowsills were dusty and has dead insects in bith the entry way and dining room. Which we also cleaned.
Lawn was over grown but the lawn guy showed up the next day. The porch needs repair. The railings for the stairs are very wobbly with some balusters completely rotted away at the bottom. There were lots of spider and cobwebs going from the bottom of windows to the porch which were full of debris, insects, and spider sacs. Several areas of rot on the porch and we had to be careful where we stepped out. The webs and debris were also around the entry way. If other reviews had aknowledged any of this, we would have chosen an alternative location. We shouldn't have to clean upon arriving at a rental. We took a lot of pictures to back this up.
The size was good for our party of eight. But it was hard to cook in the kitchen for that large of a group. There were plenty of dishes, but not enough pots, bakeware, or any mixing bowls. The owners were nice enough to supply a stand mixer for us when I asked if there was one.
This is the only time I've had a negative experience with any of my multiple VRBO rentals.
That being said I did not contact the owner with the cleanliness issues while we were there. I just cleaned it and dealt with it. We were in town visiting family and had a very full schedule, including meeting a new grandchild for my sister. So we chose to concentrate on that. Then I was traveling for 2 days after. I did contact the owner a few day later where I was told I was threatening her with a bad review. That I fabricated things, was rude to her lawn guy, and being worried about bugs, mice and bats from the multiple holes, including one in the ceiling of our bedroom, was basically a mental issue on our part. So good luck.
The owner did NOT ask to see the pics.
The house was great for our family to be able to stay together for graduation weekend.,The bathrooms were the only challenge. There was 1 upstairs near all the bedrooms and 1 was downstairs off the kitchen. It would have been helpful to have a few more mirrors near outlets in the bedrooms for the girls to do their hair. We enjoyed our stay and the kitchen was well equipped to make dinner together one evening in the beautiful dining room. They also had a gas grill. Thanks!
My family and I came for a few days to stay during spring break. There is lots of
History behind the house. It was beautiful. There is some upgrades and maintenance that needs to be done but overall very nice. My kids didn’t like the fact there was no tv or wifi but they survived.
