The Brighton Chalet is centered in the heart of Utah’s Brighton Ski Resort area where, at an elevation of 8,755 Feet, we have a higher base elevation than any other Utah ski area! And with an average snowfall of over 500 inches per year, it’s no wonder why we open our doors and ski runs first each season! We are located in Brighton, Utah, just 19 miles east of Salt Lake City at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. During the summertime, Brighton is peaceful and serene, but not lacking adventurous activities! You can cast your fishing line into the nearby Silver Lake, which is constantly filled with trout. Not into fishing? You can leisurely wander around the lake enjoying the beautiful views of nature on the environment-protecting boardwalk. These activities are an easy 5-minute walk from our chalets. For those in search of a more difficult hike, there are four beautiful mountain lakes that constantly draw the attention of the ambitious hiker. The popular Guardsman’s Pass mountain biking trails bring spectacular views and perfect terrain. Photographers have a heyday at Brighton because of the many amazing images to capture which include fields of the famous Brighton wildflowers. The views captivate tourists as well, who are making their way to Brighton Chalets.

Skiers and snowboarders enjoy an easy 1-minute walk to the Brighton Ski Resort lifts to experience the lighter-than-air snow! Positioned just across the street from Brighton Resort’s Milly Express, Our Brighton Chalets provide easy access to the mountain resort! Thanks to the over 500 inches of powder each winter, Brighton’s famous “Highest Base Elevation of 8,577 Ft.” is the best wintertime skiing in the area. No one gets more snow than we do! With the abundance of snow located right in our backyard, wintertime activities include skiing and snowboarding at Brighton Resort, cross-country skiing at Solitude’s Nordic Center, and snowmobiling over Guardsman’s Pass, to mention the more vigorous activities. Everyone, even the seasoned locals, is awestruck by the pristine beauty of Brighton’s winter wonderland, the epitome of the “Greatest Snow on Earth.”

Important note: The Town of Brighton and Big Cottonwood Canyon are extremely important “protected watershed areas” supplying high quality and high quantity drinking water to the thirsty Salt Lake Valley and thus dogs and pets are not allowed in these locations. This home is not pet friendly and we do not allow pets. The County will assess $500 fines if you are caught in the canyon with a dog.

Spring break skiing

Location was great for being able to walk to all the lifts at Brighton. Having the outdoor storage was a nice plus for when we were done in the evening. Amenities in the condo were adequate and suited our needs. The interior in general is a bit dated and could use some improvements but didn’t bother us.

Perfect for family ski trip. Love all the hooks. Would be nice to add a mirror (maybe back of the door) in the bedroom.

Great location

Located at the edge of the parking lot for Brighton Ski Resort. Short walk to Milly’s or Majestic. We stayed there in the Fall and it was cozy and quiet. The place has been renovated and is in good shape. Overall a very convenient place for skiers and a nice spot for getting away off season.

Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Right next to the slopes. We had no problems with the simple kitchen… we were able to cook everything we had brought. Would stay here again!

Great stay at very convinient location

This was out first time...overall the process including check-in, check-out etc. was very seamless. The property had good amenities including 2 car parks, ski storage, hot tub etc. The location is super convenient being right at the entrance of Brighton - so you can walk into the resort.

Convenient to Brighton but noisy

Great location for skiing Brighton. Hot tub was a nice plus. But the upstairs neighbors were so noisy and you could hear everything. They did not respect quiet hours and these were not enforced.

Incredible Location Next to Brighton

Great place to stay. 800' from Milly Lift. It allows you to walk to the resort every day. Close enough to come home for lunch and rest before you go back out powder chasing. The only negative is that you will hear your neighbors upstairs walking around.

Beautiful location and property. Hard to use key code. Guests above us had children and were loud.

Beautiful location great views hike trails and Lake nearby property reflected photos perfectly. However it was difficult at first to get into the room with keypad. Also, the guests above our chalet suite had small children and were noisy, constantly running around upstairs and in the hallways being loud and yelling. But overall, great stay and wonderful stay. Thank you.

Great location- walk to the lifts at Brighton

This is a warm, cozy unit, easy walk to the Millicent chair at Brighton, and easy parking. There really is no a kitchen- a fridge and dishwasher but no over (toaster and hotplate) but we were not planning to eat in. Somehow we could hear every word and every step upstairs as if they were in our unit, from about 5 am till about 1 am. I used earplugs, so be sure to bring those, I think it is the soundproofing that is off. I had a question at check in and it took 90 minutes to hear back.. luckily not a safety issue, but disappointing.

Everything you want

The Powder Hound unit was great. Comfortably sleeps 4, with even the pull out being memory foam. Completely keyless, and plenty of space right outside the unit to put ski gear on. Covered parking is a plus for when it snows a bunch. Hot tub works well. Kitchen is somewhat makeshift (portable burner, griddle, and toaster oven - rather than a conventional stove/oven) but well equipped. A listing of the available kitchen tools (smaller toaster oven only; has a crockpot and blender; etc.) would be nice so we’d choose the right food and groceries to drive up with. Otherwise a very nice unit with every convenience, and about as close to the Brighton base as you can get.

POWER OUTAGE

Arrived and noticed we did not have an over in the kitchen. Used the toaster oven to make some garlic bread and a hot plate to make spaghetti. It tripped a breaker in the kitchen due to the extension cord that connected the toaster oven to the outlet. Contacted property management company ASAP at 730 pm no response. Called back at 815 pm, No repsonse. Called again at 9 am the next morning talked to property management said they would get it taken care of soon. Called back at 4 pm because nothing had been done. Finally, got a call from the owner that told me where the breakers were located and gave me the entry code for that door to fix it myself. Asked for at least a day refund. Big surprise I never heard back from anyone again. We will NEVER use this VRBO again. We loved Brighton Ski Resort

Great Condo; Bad Neighbors

This is a great condo. The amenities were all there and it had been recently upgraded. Beautiful location in the stunning big cottonwood canyon! Great condo! The lower rating is there because of the group above us. This condo facility is set up with the larger condo on top of all the smaller condos. During our stay there was a group of at least 12 people staying above us. This group was loud and inconsiderate of anyone else who happen to be staying there. Their kids were running throughout the condo constantly so it sounded like a herd of free range elephants we're staying there. They would start about 7 am and go until nearly midnight. One of the drivers in this group parked in one of our two stalls and stayed there the whole two days we were there. No apologies. No questions on whether we needed the spot or not. The feeling I got is they didn't care whether they were bothering other people or not. I hate to be negative but this experience would probably keep me from staying at this facility again. If I did, I would probably book it through a living person and try to find out a bit more about who might be staying on the top suite. If it is booked by a family I'll probably just go over to snowbird.

Cozy stay up in the mountain

Beautiful home right next to Brighton Resort. The furnishings were all new and just wonderful. The bedroom had a fireplace and the bed was so comfortable. Just a great getaway. I hope to return soon!

Old building, new furnishings

Unfortunately, I can't recommend staying here. Although the furnishings, appliances and décor are nice and new, the building itself is old and has terrible construction. The walls and floors/ceilings sound like they are made of plywood. This is a 3 level building with multiple units. You will hear every footstep and movement from the people above you. It's sort of a lipstick on a pig situation. It was one of the most annoying vacation stays we've ever had. We had multiple things not work in the unit and the owners (staying on-site above us) were accommodating to get them fixed. There was scheduled construction activity above us which was not mentioned during booking. There were workers walking by and setting up ladders in front of windows and drilling above us for 2 days. We were offered an apology. The wifi is pretty much non-existent, especially in the mornings. We would occasionally get a little here and there but we had to rely on a tether to get anything done (there is one bar of Verizon LTE). This was brought to management's attention twice and nothing was done to remedy. There is no oven in this unit. Just an electric cooktop and microwave. The listing says the jacuzzi is shared. It is not, it belongs to the largest unit on the top.

Family photos and perfect hiking homebase

We came for our family photos, which were perfect with the Fall leaves in the background. The hiking around Silver Lake is super kid-friendly, and it's nice being so close to the property for the walk home. My husband had zoom calls for work. The wi-fi was very fast and reliable. We had everything we needed for cooking and the kitchen was very-well stocked. This was a perfect location for our stay.

Mountain Getaway

Had not been back to Salt Lake City in over 30 years. Wanted to stay in the mountains and chose Brighton since we have skied there in the past. Loved the property. Exactly the right size for us! Communications were excellent which made all of the arrangements very easy. Would definitely come back!
