Everything was great- does the owner also rent out the basement? Domestic disturbance in the basement our last night there. Did not think it rose to the level of contacting the police- was unsettling for an otherwise wonderful week.
Sherri’s and Kent’s home in Colorado Springs was everything we could have asked for, and more. The house was spotless, and the accommodations were more than we could have ever asked for. Each room was thoughtfully appointed and decorated, and the house was well-stocked from the kitchen to the books to toys for the kids. There was even a yoga mat, fresh flowers, snacks and water. Thank you again for opening up your home.
The space is the top level of a home that the owner's folks built in the early 70's. It was spacious, comfortable and clean. It was also very well equipped and cheerfully decorated. The view of Pike's Peak and the Garden of the Gods from the deck is spectacular. Stop looking and rent this one - you will be very glad you did!
I've stayed in short term rental properties all over the world and never had a more pleasant and perfect experience than I had this past week in Kent and Sherri's home in Colorado Springs.
First of all, words simply cannot describe how incredible the view is. From the living and master bedrooms you have a full view of Pikes Peak with the panorama stretching from Cheyenne Mountain to beyond the Garden of the Gods. Past the verdant back yard you see only the tops of trees and a few roofs of houses below you. Sitting on the deck taking in the sunshine and the views is like an other-worldly experience. If you're really lucky as we were, you might have a huge buck stop by for a visit.
The house interior is actually prettier and more spacious than the photos reveal. The house was filled with decor welcoming the fall season. In the kitchen were fresh flowers, snacks, copious amounts of water (a must for Colorado), and a nice bottle of Pinot Noir to greet us. There were also upscale toiletries in the bathrooms, laundry detergent if needed, plus lots of condiments, cookbooks... anything you could possibly need for your stay.
As for location, you're only a couple of miles from the Garden of the Gods, just minutes old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, downtown, and the Colorado College campus. I hope to stay there every time I visit, which is fairly often. I couldn't possibly recommend any place more.
Thank you so much for your hospitality, Kent and Sherri!
I can't stay enough about this house. We took a family vacation with 2 teenagers and chose this home for its location and views. When we first arrived we easily accessed the house and walked into the most incredible view of Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods. The home was filled with beautiful light and comfortable furnishings. Honestly, the listing photos do not do this home justice. Each of my kids had their own room, though there was room for more. A family of 6-7 could very comfortably stay here. The hosts left us so many lovely amenities, coffee, water, snacks, toiletries. We loved the back porch, which we enjoyed every morning and evening. There were several other amenities we never used: grill, side patio, playground. It was a short walk into Old Colorado City and a quick drive into Garden of the Gods and Red Rocks Canyon. You can tell this home is loved and we loved staying here. If we visit the area again, we would most certainly book this house. I HIGHLY recommend! Thank you, Kent and Sherri for making our first time to Colorado Springs all that more wonderful.
The house was very well appointed and had everything that we needed. We enjoyed late afternoons on the deck and the view was fantastic. The House is perfectly situated for Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, etc.
The property had an incredible view of Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. The owner was very kind to provide amenity’s I was not expecting. My grandkids loved the swing set! Very clean
My family and I stayed at this property and absolutely loved it! It was cozy, comfortable, spacious, and clean! The home fit our every need. The views are amazing on the deck and we certainly enjoyed our evenings watching the sunsets. The home has wonderful amenities and everything is taken well care of it. The owners have truly thought of everything guests may need. My kids especially loves the games, toys and playground equipment. I would highly recommend this property, and the location is great. We hope to return in the future!
This property is amazing. The neighborhood, the house, the views - you name it! Everything in the house was just as listed, plus some nice bonuses! It was easy to find and easy to use all of the items in the house. Did I mention the views! Hopefully our travels will find us back here someday!
Very well kept and comfortable house in a safe and quiet neighborhood, ideally located near all major attractions and conveniences. The house was very well equipped allowing you to feel as if you were home. The owners were very nice, helpful and responsive. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, which was of importance for our family. The views were absolutely amazing allowing a 180 degree panorama of mountains and orange rocks (Garden of the Gods in the distance) with the city in the foreground.
Wonderful experience!
The view from the property really cannot be beat... a spectacular panorama with Pike's Peak right at the center! The property itself was comfortable, well-appointed, and extremely clean. Highly recommend!
Stop looking and book this house! This house is in a perfect location. We enjoyed hiking in The Garden of the Gods, Manitou, and the cliff dwellings while in town for a wedding. The house is very comfortable, clean and has everything you would need.
There aren't enough stars to give Sherri, Kent and this property! We loved everything!
The house was immaculate, well-designed, well-stocked and sooo comfortable. They clearly thought of everything. It was also spotlessly clean for a neat and clean freak like me and my husband.
Kent was always available for any question we had. Immediately.
I hope we are lucky enough to stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay and sightseeing experience. The property was centrally located to all the sights we wanted to see.
Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak were top on our list. The house is well stocked with pots, pans, laundry supplies, towels etc. The view was breath taking off the back deck.
I am grateful for the wonder visit all the way around.
Thank you -Jackie /Joseph
This home was extremely clean and well cared for. We found the location worked well for us. Be advised this house sets on a ridge with a wonderful undisturbed view but it is in a fairly busy neighborhood and there is some noise that comes from that. Also it did not bother us because its summer but the garage did not come with the rental.
We would recommend this rental and my return in the future.

Look, if you are checking out this property and it meets your needs and budget, save yourself time and just book this. I promise no regrets. You probably don’t need to bring any household item with you as it is fully stocked. Enjoy your stay!
This was our first experience with VRBO and we will likely never go back to traditional hotels. This property sits opposite Pike's Peak and the view is simply incredible.
The property was spotless and amenities were top notch. The owners really have thought of everything a traveller could want...extra bedding, fans, fast wifi, Amazon Fire on every TV.
It is in a nice, safe neighborhood and the property is close to all the popular attractions...Garden of the Gods, Pike's Peak, Cheyenne Zoo, etc.
The proprietors are super responsive and polite. We will be back to this property and I'm going to check to see if the owners have other properties in other locales.
This was the best trip my family has had. Thanks Sherri and Kent!
First off the Home is great for a Family of 5. Sherri and Kent had the house fully stocked and ready to go. The views from the balcony are amazing. You can see multiple landmarks in either direction from it. Everything you want to do and eat is 5-10 min away. The neighborhood is really quite and peaceful. Feels like you are in the country not the city with all the animals that visit you. We had some hiccups and the owners were really understanding and we really appreciated that. The house was the icing on the cake for a great vacation. My kids did not want to leave. Thank you again. Happy New Year!!
I just want to say I was so nervous at first, as I told Sherri. Because I had never booked with Vrbo. But from the start, customer service and Sherri the property owner was amazing with communication. The house let me just say breath taking from the moment you walk in to the end of it. We had our mouths open, I took my family with me and they loved it. Thank you so much for having such a clean place, well equipped on everything! Dishes, trash bags, laundry, restroom, everything made us feel like home. They have a small children swing set my girls loved it. The TVs where smart so we could watch movies the whole time! We were very blessed to be in this home very safe. Literally drove. No more then 20 min to our locations it was very nice!!! Thank you so much Sherri. God bless you with many more bookings ❤️ Enjoyed our stay from December 19-26, 2021!!!! If I could give it 100 ⭐️ I would!!!
Lovely view and home. Sherri thought of everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend this property.

About the host
Hosted by Sherri
Our parents built this home in 1975. We have had the opportunity to add some modern touches to keep it current but still cozy. Kent still lives and works in Colorado Springs and Sherri lives in Texas but comes back to visit often. There is just something about the mountains that stays with you even when you are away.
Why they chose this property
The views are like no other place!
What makes this property unique
The location of this home is perfect for most visitors. Not far from Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The West Side feels like a small town, close to the mountains.
