Checking in was super easy and required no interaction with host, definitely great for those coming in super late. The place is clean, there's a well stocked kitchen, cozy bed area (with an AC and fan right nearby) and I liked they had a few extra bath supplies in the bathroom area like toothbrushes, razors and qtips which was great since one of us did forge
My husband and I had a blast. He loves goats and was absolutely delighted to spend so much time with them. The Nest was lovely. If the weather had been a bit warmer, I really wanted to try out the outdoor tub. Everyone was very nice (there are several farm hands on property). The goats milk soap we purchased from the farm store and brought home was sooo good too. Definitely would stay again.

Absolutely perfect. Cozy, warm, and welcoming. My only wish is to have stayed for more than a week!
My wife is a city-girl, and I'm from rural Washington. This makes it hard for us to find trips that work for both of us. Staying at Left Foot Farm was so incredible, it was immediately a favorite for both of us.
We arrived late in the evening on Friday, and were given a welcoming tour of the entire farm, with a constant reminder that we were free to explore the farm as much as we wanted. That night, I took a hot bath on the patio of the our lodging at the Nest while listening to frogs, crickets, and restless goats. I felt the chill wind and saw a sky full of stars. The next morning, I got up early and watched as the goats were milked. Each one had a name, and the farm crew were loving and attentive, giving each one attention and patience while they were milked. Later, my wife and I played with the baby goats. If you've never played with baby goats, it will elevate you. They are animated, adorable, and extremely social. I took videos of my wife (someone who is scared of wild animals, bugs, etc.) getting mobbed by baby goats and laughing - being fully in the moment. Also, a special mention for the dogs and cats of Left Foot Farm. They are very friendly, social, and lovely creatures.
If you're looking for a getaway from the city, or stresses of life, I can't recommend this enough.

About the host
Hosted by Jeremy Foust
I am left-handed and have always joked about not being able to do certain things, like rollerskate, because I am left-footed. Almost everyone is right-footed and I like the fact we are a little different. We celebrate being unique, a little odd, and sometimes while feeding at 6:00 a.m. in the pouring rain, a little crazy. Being ourselves and enjoying the farm, and putting one left foot in front of another on a daily basis is what keeps us going.
Why they chose this property
Left Foot Farm is a 5-acre family farm near Mount Rainier in Washington, currently raising about 100 dairy goats. We are a licensed Grade A Raw Milk Dairy, and proud to share great tasting milk from our girls.
There are so many variables that go into milk production and we are always learning. Pasture rotation, types of forage, varieties of grain, and fodder—these are some of the elements we are either experimenting with now or plan to examine more closely soon.
Left Foot seeks to welcome visitors whether that is for the day or a few nights. We think it is extremely important to be able to see, touch, smell where your food comes from.
We are grateful to have a healthy, happy herd. Our crew is blessed to enjoy life on the farm with the goats. Thank you for your interest in our farm.
