Island House

This rental was perfect for our needs in every way. We had family members coming to this area for a Memorial service. The beautiful setting and the design of this house made it the so nice for family to gather and reminisce. The front deck and living room offers stunning views of Coldwater lake. We greatly enjoyed the back patio area too and were able to recall pleasant memories in front of a camp fire due to the large fire pit. We toured the island and were rewarded with a gorgeous sunset. This house and property could not be more accommodating for anyone from families to couples. We are already planning to rebook!

Island Vacation

We had 6 adults and the property worked out very well for us. We enjoyed golfing on the island, boating jn the lake, miniature golf nearby and some good restaurants in the area.

Retired Ladies’ Getaway

We had a wonderful time! House was well-appointed and very clean. Beds were SO comfortable! Only potential issue is the living space was up a full flight of stairs. Our group was ages 68-80 and even though we are all mobile and in good health, we couldn’t help notice there didn’t seem to be any mention of this in the property description. Could be a problem for less mobile folks.

Great little place.

We had a great time during our stay. It was a great location for us and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were easy to communicate with ahead of time when we had questions. A few more hangers and places to unpack clothing would be helpful, but overall things were great. Beds were comfortable and all of us slept well!

Iyopawa Island is one of the most amazing places. We had a wonderful vacation and this cottage was a perfect fit for our family.

Great stay for some well needed family time away!

This home was the perfect spot to spend some quality family time together which was much overdue! Lots of space with the layout of the beds and bedrooms and lots of room to share family meals as well as play cards and games and have a constant puzzle going on that we worked on all weekend as well! Excellent communication which was so appreciated - couple of issues leading up to the vacation and on check in were handled immediately and couldn't have asked for more gracious hosts - just tremendous communication all around. Enjoyed the outdoor area as well as the proximity to a fun golf course and the golf cart and paddle boards were a hit with the whole family! Would definitely recommend to others!

Family vacation

Very nice property in a great location. We enjoyed biking around the island and taking golf cart rides. The listing says beach access for swimming but there is no beach access. That is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars for the property. It was nice to have all the things needed for a toddler in the house - baby gate, high chair, outdoor toys, etc.

Comfortable Stay

The house was very comfortable. I enjoyed the evenings on the front deck watching the lake. The neighborhood is fantastic and the neighbors were all friendly as I would walk around the island each evening.

Wonderful Stay

This property is great, it has great space, things for the little ones to do, yard games, and a great location to the lake and golf course. The stay would be even better once the details are worked out to have better access to the lake. The use of the pier would be amazing and the ability to use the little beach area would be nice. However, our family rented a pontoon to access the sand bar, which was amazing! This house has a foam "lily pad" that we took with us on the pontoon and the kids loved it at the sandbar. Overall, this was a great experience and the property owners are great to communicate with and are quick to respond to any questions!

Fantastic Time

Place was as described. Clean, inviting house. Host was easy to deal with and got back with us quickly about a slight issue that occurred!! I would highly recommend staying here. Only downside is across the road from the lake but beautiful view!!

Loving Iyopawa Island

We absolutely loved everything about our stay on Iyopawa Island. Lived in Michigan all my life, never been to Coldwater or heard of Iyopawa. EVERY home on this island was pristine, beautiful and well cared for. Family friendly and very quiet as noted. Can't tell you how many times we walked, ran and golf carted around the island. Saw something different every time. Golf course was perfect course, plenty of tee times, fast greens and well kept. We rented pontoon from Coldwater Lake Marina. Great day on the quite shallow lake, perfect for the little ones to play in the water. The home was perfect for our family both inside and out. Besides my hubby and I we had our three daughters with their spouses and 2 little grandchildren. Plenty of bed spaces and a whole other living area under the main floor that made a great play area for the kids...so cozy. Perfect accommodations and quick responses to my questions. We made many, many family memories and made full use of the wood deck and fire pit.

Weekend getaway

We had a great weekend. We enjoyed this beautiful home. Relaxed in the backyard, hung out at the beach and enjoyed all the comforts of home without being home. Took walks around the island and rides on the golf cart. So enjoyable!!!!

Iyopawa Getaway

We loved the house. We had two families of 4 and it worked great. Location was perfect. Response and communication was wonderful from our hosts. We would absolutely go again. Great selection of toys and stuff for small children if needed too!

Lovely Lake view stay

Visiting area for a 90 year old birthday party. Prior reviews cover it. Had everything needed. Owners went above and beyond with great communication.

Great Lake House

Coldwater Lakes 2023

We were very pleased with our 4 night weekend. Only improvements we suggest involve lack of soap/shampoo, old frying pan and the front balcony only holding 4 people. Perhaps we should have known about the soap and shampoo situation but ? The balcony could easily be strengthened with joist straps, joist blocking and pilar arms. We are into building construction. We hope to return next year as kids loved the beach! Regards, Ed

A Perfect Family Get-Away!

We loved this vay-cay home for many reasons: the kitchen was usefully stocked; plenty of beach toys included to enjoy days at the association private beach area; usage of the golf cart was an added plus; tastefully decorated home, and comfortable sleeping too. I rate them 5+

Graduation weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay. We weren’t able to utilize the lake due to graduation activities. The place was cozy and beds were comfortable. Questions we had, were answered in a timely manner. Hope to stay again.

Lovely lake house

We stayed at this lovely lake house in March, so we cannot speak much for the summer experience, but I imagine it would be lovely. This home was located on Iyopawa island, a few hundred yards from coldwater lake. There is beach access about a 2 minute walk from the home. It it currently covered is boat lifts, but I imagine it's a nice, quaint beach in the summer. The owners were excellent and responsive. The beds were comfortable, and the cottage was nicely updated. I am always curious about a homes layout, so here it is: enter to the lower level entryway with a staircase up to the main level. On the lower level is a large family room. It wasn't really useable for our purposes, but may be useable for other families. There is a TV and 2 couches in this lower level family room. Past the family room is a utility/laundry room that leads to the garage. Up the stairs, there is a large opened living room/dining room/kitchen table, all connected. This is a great space, with table space for 11+. The living room has a huge picture window to the lake, with a balcony. The view is lovely. Off the dining room you will find a small bedroom with 2 twin beds, a hall full bathroom, and a master king bedroom with an a full attached bath. Past the dining room and kitchen table is a small, but very usable open kitchen space. Past the kitchen there is a door to the back yard and the last two bedrooms, both are a good size. Great stay overall!

Island Stay

We liked this place a lot. It had a lot of necessities that you would be glad to have in any place you stay, but typically aren’t included. We went out and played golf right behind the house. Nice view of the lake.

Our parents purchased this very home back in 1980. As kids we spent our time riding bikes around Iyopawa Island collecting golf balls and swimming in the lake. The beautiful Golf Course was our back yard. When our family grew out of this home, our parents moved us a few miles away. We always appreciated the upbringing we had at the Island. It was such a special place for us. We hoped some day we would return. 30 years later we purchased the very home we grew up in on Iyopawa Island! We love to visit and bring our kids up here. Now we want you to be able to enjoy your time here on Iyopawa Island!
