Hemmet är cirka 1500 kvadratmeter, som ligger på 10 tunnland betesmark och skogsmark. Dekorerade omsorgsfullt för vår familj - välkomnande; verkar som hemma. Knutiga tallskåp och klädsel med trä- och mattgolv. Underbar; privat utsikt över bergen, (7700 höjd). Mycket lugnt och lite avskilt. Massor av vilda djur: vi ser älg, rådjur och kalkon på fastigheten och har hört bergslövar och sett bevis på björn. När vi under säsongen har flera varianter av besökande kolibrier. Ta med dina fyra hjul, cyklar, himmel, hästar osv: betesmark för dina hästar och ridning finns på plats. På vintern finns ett närliggande (5 mil) skidområde; skridskoåkning i byn; slang- och slädkullar på fastigheten. Ruidoso och White Sands ligger cirka 40 mil bort. Stigkartor för vandring och ridning i närheten, inklusive kartor över Lincoln National Forest finns. Restaurang och shoppingguide i byn (Cloudcroft, 7 mil bort). Golfbana finns på Lodge, fantastisk restaurang!

Great Cabin in the Woods

Family getaway

This cabin was an excellent stay for our family of 7. The property was a cozy, lovely place with full amenities. The fridge and kitchen has a rotating pantry and staples fyi. The beds were comfy, the wood burning stove warmed the cabin perfectly, plenty of charming touches throughout. We did come in from ruidoso and gps took us through a very long unpaved route, good to know. Otherwise the home is a perfect getaway!

The Retreat lived up to the name

Wonderful night spent with family after mountain fun! Beautiful quaint cabin, amazing property with room to explore. Not far from Cloudcroft town and ski area. Will definitely look to book with this host for future visits.

Cozy and cute cabin

We really loved our stay at the cabin. It was very cozy, clean, and cute. With beautiful views and quiet soroundings. It had everything we needed and more. The host was very attentive and helpful. We highly recommend it.

Absolutely Amazing!

We stayed at this property to celebrate Thanksgiving with our son who works in Carlsbad. Coming from Colorado the location was gorgeous with all the amenities needed for a relaxing holiday. We were visited by turkeys, deer and elk during our stay and being able to have our dogs along was the reason behind using VRBO vs a hotel. Thanks to great communication with Rusty our trip was absolutely amazing.

Mountain Getaway

We love the location of this cabin and it is very cozy and comfortable. We were able to ride our side by side right from the cabin every day and enjoyed the view from the large glass window. Loved sitting on the porch every morning just looking at the scenery. We love staying at this cabin.

Nice place. Beautiful view. We saw deer in the morning. The pool table is in an unfinished basement and there was no pool as listed in profile.

Amazing cabin in an amazing location!!

This cabin is beautiful and the location is unmatched!! Watching the elk in the meadow every morning while drinking coffee was magical!! The kids loved the treehouse. They had a zip line but we opted not to use it. If you’re looking for a calm and magical place this is it. The only thing we had an issue with was the cleanliness of the cabin. There was hair all over the master bathroom, looked like someone had shaved their beard and never cleaned up after it. The sheets and bedding smelt odd so we washed them before bed and all was good. communication could have been a bit better. Asked the day we got there for the Wi-Fi information and never received a text back the 5 days we were there. I found it under the night stand in one of the smaller rooms on top of the modem. So if you book with them, that’s where it’s hiding aside from those two things it was perfection!! Would stay again in a heart beat!

Turkey hunt

Cloudcroft cabin

We spent one night after attending a nearby wedding. The owner was flexible in allowing us to check in early to get ready. The place was very nice and extremely peaceful. We very much enjoyed our short stay.

Home Away From Home

We loved the location ,view, deer, elk and birds. The front porch is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the cool mountain air !! We will go back !! Had our family over for playing games and meals. Great place for pot luck dinners !!

I had to add a night to our weekend stay and this cabin was available. It was easy to find - great directions. The cabin was nice and had all you would expect. One recommendation was I had a hard time finding how to connect to the WiFi - but I did eventually find it.

Magical Holiday

This little retreat is absolutely magical! It’s everything you could want in a cabin, plus, the added bonus of snow! The wood stove put off ample cozy heat for the beautiful winter day we had!

Getaway

This is the second time we stay here and both times have been great! It a great getaway place for a weekend and maybe a week! Has plenty of space on the property, and kind of separated from neighbors.

We have a horse farm in La Mesa, NM-about 100 miles from the cabin. Joe has been a beef cattle specialist and horse specialist with Auburn University, U. of Georgia, and New Mexico State University.
We are currently in the horse business, breeding, training, teaching, and boarding.
We also are on mission to help families be healthy through our Juice Plus business.
