Sweet Little Cabin in the Woods

This is the place if you want to disconnect and have a rustic woodsy stay. It's a bit far from Franklin and even further from Highlands, but we took food, etc. so not a problem. No internet, but was able to surf very slowly a little. Great satellite t.v. Super quiet, edge of woods, gorgeous old log cabin down the road and babbling creek to walk to. Hosts took care to stock everything you need and the little touches were sweet. This is not for people wanting fancy luxury, but if you like peace, quiet and to truly relax, this place is fantastic. We actually loved the country roads and passing farms, etc. as we came to see the changing leaves. Thank you to our hosts. We had a wonderful time and were able to see everything we came to. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven!

Humble but satisfactory property

The stay was fine for 3 guys that just needed a place to sleep and shower for a few days. The house was smaller than we expected but it worked fine. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations on other rooms easily. The neighborhood as a whole felt safe and secure as we left motorcycles out overnight without worry. Overall, i think we would stay here again.

Very relaxing

The cottage was very quaint, simple but satisfying. It had the essentials for a relaxing stay. My wife really enjoyed the simplicity of the cottage and quietness.

Peaceful and quite small cottage

well stocked kitchen, husband loved the mattress in master but I thought it was way to soft but the couch was very comfortable. If you carry you pet with you FYI the neighbors across drive have 4 nice size dogs so you will have to watch your pet when they go outside with you, Not saying that they were aggressive but they let us know that's their neighborhood. There was some homemade bread there in the freezer which was nice.

A place on the spare of the moment.

Master bedroom was real tight in navigating around bed. Air conditioner lacked capacity in cooling off bedroom. Somewhat noisy for that small house. It gave us a place to stay as we were out most of the day Friday and Saturday. Taking trash to landfill on Sunday is not what we expected. A person in town helped with that. Old Hickory Road leading into Old Cabin Road was trashy with vehicles and trash.

Judster

We visited the mountains of NC for the first time on this trip and traveled with our dog. We loved the seclusion of the location and the rocking chairs on the porch. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans as we did eat in. The queen bed was very comfortable as was the couch. Loved the little thoughtful things you added to make it feel like home. However the house was too small even for 2 people. You may want to consider switching the living room and dining room so to expand the kitchen for a pantry. Also please place personal belongings in one locked closet. We definitely did not like having to dispose of our trash. That was the most negative part of the otherwise pleasant experience. Note you will need to send someone to spray the hornets 🐝 on the front porch they seem to be burrowing into the ceiling. Thank you sharing the Ladyslipper with us.

cute, cozy

tiny home but had all we needed for a quiet getaway. Well stocked kitchen for meal prep, satellite tv, nice porch for sitting and relaxing. Only downside, but I understand it's being addressed, is bad mattresses--with 1/3 of our day spent in them they needed to be upgraded to more comfortable quality.

Quiet Retreat

The stay was peaceful and quiet. I took long afternoon walks and visited a few of the local sites. There is no Wifi so I was unable to work on my laptop or talk of my cellphone (the reception is limited). The shower is small, even for a 5'1" woman. The cottage had utensils, pots and pans. The television was connected to DISH so plenty to watch at night.
