Enjoyed!

Enjoyed our stay! Kids loved the very small spit of sand and having the dock to jump off of. We had our own boat and SUP but also took advantage of the kayaks as well. Dock is across street but easy to cross and not far. The loft was great for the kids with lots of beds. Loft is open to main floor so when they went to bed so did everyone else. Yes, basement is musty but if you've ever lived in the woods that is pretty normal. Bring your own sheets, towels, etc. Some essential kitchen stuff had been left but they don't list it. If it's a heat wave the window AC units don't make it to the bedroom but most nights got nice and cool and it was very pleasant. A little road noise. But not bad.

Mixed bag for sure

The house itself was nice and clean but definitely had pros and cons. Pros: family/dog friendly house; upstairs loft had 4 twins and a full size bed; lake access was great- clean, deep, warm swimmable water; close enough to paddle/boat to town and Little Squam; pool table and foosball made the rainy day fun. Cons: listing left out a lot- notably, the property is shared with up to two cabins who share the dock if you’re all renting at the same time which made for an awkward day one; Not enough AC to keep the house dry so it smelled really musty; basement dehumidifier didn’t work; coffee pot is not automatic shut off so a note would have felt safer rather than trial and error; owner did not communicate at all through vrbo- as in, didn’t respond to my note- all done via email with realtor. We were asked via email to sign a lease which was different from different online listing- lease included security deposit, check in/out times, etc. Previous renters showed up to retrieve lost belongings and thought the owners gave us a heads up- they did not- so another awkward moment on day one. The road out front is manageable to cross but LOTS of truck traffic so busy and loud at times. There were no Check out instructions but the lease includes added fees for “additional” cleaning needed so hopefully we did enough- it’s impossible to know!

Modern Big Home

We loved this house for our vacation on Squam Lake. It had all the amenities we needed, including some a/c units that weren’t mentioned in the listing. Wifi was fast and even worked well when sitting on the large porch that faces the lake. Boat slip was perfect for our needs and we kept a Whaler on it during our week. The property manager was very responsive to all questions and made it easy for us. Tons of games inside the house, including pool table, ping pong, foosball and a poker table. There were even two kayaks with paddles for use. Would definitely stay here again.

Mixed bag

Called a 3 bedroom but it's actually 2 bedrooms with a loft that sleeps minimum 4 in twin beds. The second bathroom is an en suite. So not really accessible to all. Kitchen is well equipped with ancient equipment. Bring your own knives. Could have been cleaner, especially the ice dispenser which has mold growing on it. All dishes were suspect for cleanliness. Dishwasher is not secured in place. All of this being said, it is a beautiful home on a beautiful lake and it does have a dock and water access with a sandy beach. Communication with property manager was prompt but some info was not accurate. There were linens (although not clean) on beds and towels (we were told to bring our own) and there were 2 A/C's but one bedroom did not have one and it was very hot. All in all we enjoyed our stay but for the price for a week it was a stretch. Needs attention to detail.
