This house is secluded in a nice remote country area. House was nice and clean, property was well maintained. Nice pond and very quiet area. Great place for a getaway
Well equipped and set up for rest, relaxation, and exploring! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The views are magical. We were able to catch some fish and use the paddle boat even though the pond is low from the drought. We hiked the trails in the back. Lovely!
We booked for a girls weekend getaway. It was my first time at the property, but my friend's second time. The property is absolutely gorgeous, with a creek flowing through down the hill. Lots of space to explore, but also close enough to Jasper and other trail heads to make for a weekend full of good food and exploring. The house was clean, fully stocked, and had all the modern amenities you would desire. Very cozy! Communication and check in with the host was quick and easy. Would absolutely book again for a family weekend or another girls trip!
Thank you for allowing us an amazing stay! Berties Nest was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The views of the mountain were absolutely beautiful. We loved watching the sunrise over the trees in the morning along with a family of deer who visited occasionally. The peaceful tranquility of the Arkansas mountains is something my family enjoys every year and this place did not disappoint. Parthenon is where my grandfather was born and raised so to pass by the little old general store every morning was something my father really enjoyed along with our trips to the old homesteads (now mostly rubble) hidden way deep in the hills. Parthenon is a place full of memories for my family and what made it even more special by circumstance was meeting people who had shared knowledge of our familys history and friendships. This is definitely a trip we will never forget.
This was the second time I had stayed at Bertie's Nest in the last year, first stay was in March. Bertie's Nest is a great little house with an amazing view of the Ozark Mountains. The only downfalls are the rock road to the property and the air conditioning units being at in the living room and kitchen.
The rock road was better than in March but it is still kind of rough. We were glad we took our truck instead of our Durango.
It was extremely hot the week we stayed a Bertie's Nest. To keep the entire house at a comfortable temp we used a fan, which was provided, to blow the cool air down the hallway into the two back bedrooms.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Bertie's Nest!
We rented this property for a few days in hopes of enjoying a quiet trip to the mountains. This house did not disappoint! Everything was clean and well stocked. There was a lovely fire pit, covered porch, and spectacular view. We loved watching the hundreds of fireflies glowing every night. My kids loved exploring the property and playing with the puzzles and games provided. The internet worked great and the house stayed cool. Make sure and watch the gps for “birdies nest” if traveling at night, we passed the house up due to the maps taking up down further. The only negative thing was that there was several sightings of snakes in the pond and near the porch. All in all, we had a great trip!
We loved our stay at Bertie’s Nest this weekend. The house was very clean and the property is a gem. For those worried about the A/C being far from the bedrooms, we found that turning the ceiling fans on helped tremendously. We actually got cold at night. I would definitely recommend this place!
Overall it was a good stay, however, the heating unit was on the north side of the house when the bedrooms were on the south side so during the night it was cold. I was super impressed with the nice grill provided. We really enjoyed sitting on the back patio with the gorgeous view. My nephew and I really enjoyed the Paddle Boat! It was a nice little getaway that we will cherish forever. Thank you Bertie's Nest for the generous hospitality! We are already talking about coming back again!
The place was wonderful very comfortable stocked with anything that she would possibly need with a few added unexpected touches look forward to renting from this place many times!
