This house and property were beautiful and welcoming. So many thoughtful touches. The view of the woods is gorgeous and we enjoyed the hot tub as well as hanging out in the treehouse. Would definitely recommend this property!
After seeing an ad for the Ohiopyle Treehouse on social media, I planned a family trip to PA from WI just so we could stay there! We loved our time at the treehouse! The house was so clean and it’s very obvious that the owners put a lot of thought into every detail of the property. Our kids loved exploring the trails and area around the house. The close proximity to Ohiopyle State Park was perfect. We will definitely plan another trip to the treehouse!
My friend Cathy and I enjoyed 3 nights at the treehouse. It was a wonderful time filled with little acts of hospitality from our hosts….a local beer in the fridge, the supplies for smores, lots of recommendations for what to do. As with any place, we discovered a couple small problems….but they were resolved immediately and did not impact the quality of our stay. One thing I would suggest is to clarify that both bedrooms are upstairs. Cathy and I chose this place thinking the handicapped accessible bathroom and one bedroom were downstairs. That was our mistake and thankfully Cathy had healed sufficiently to have no problems with the stairs. I think a quick clarification would be helpful to future guests.
Crisp. Clean. Quiet. The PERFECT retreat. Everyone should stay here and experience this beautiful piece of property atleast once in their lives. 10 STARS!!!!
We had a great experience at the treehouse! The kids absolutely adored the gnome theme, sitting in the hot tub under the stars, and they loved the beds in the kids’ room. We are looking forward to staying again in the fall season where we can hike and enjoy more outdoor activities Ohiopyle has to offer!
Had a wonderful time, the cabin was very clean and nice, fun little decor all around, would like to come back in the summer or fall to experience the surrounding area, owner of the properties was very friendly and accommodating
We had such a magical time at this amazing treehouse and are already excited to visit again! This beautiful property has lots of fun touches to discover both in the treehouse and on the trails in the woods — I won't spoil the surprise! — and the owners really thought of everything to make it delightful. It really felt like home and we were sad to leave! The hot tub was a major highlight, as well as the built-in bluetooth speakers throughout the treehouse! Fire wood, snacks, and coffee were generously provided — the owners even left everything we needed to make s'mores! We also LOVED the handmade pottery and purchased mugs that were for sale :) The property was clean, there was a space heater in the bathroom, and plenty of towels. Every little thing was thought of and we appreciated it so much! It is clear the owners truly care about their guests. We are excited to make visits to the Ohiopyle Treehouse a regular event for our family. Thank you so much, Bob and Nina! God bless you!
Our recent mom friends getaway at the Ohiopyle Treehouse was wonderful! The accommodations were charming, cozy, and inviting with a notable (and much appreciated) attention to detail.
The overall vibe was relaxed and fun- we loved the cozy kitchen space for cooking meals together, the stunning outdoor areas for hiking and enjoying beverages by the fire, and indoor minimalist design (that prioritized rest and relaxation). The highlights were the interactive hike right on the property (hello gnomes!) and exploring the local attractions- Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater. Waking up surrounded by trees and nature was just what this group of moms needed and we can't wait to plan our next group trip back here to create even more memories to last a lifetime!
Absolutely charming and lovely with all the amenities. Gracious hosts. Secluded grounds that are peaceful and stunning in the fall. I would highly recommend this property!!!
This was a last minute trip and the treehouse was PERFECT. The nine year old could not have been more excited about the gnome hunt..and the hot tub...and the swing and fireplace! Those were favorites for all of us! Robert and Nina were fantastic to work with, even allowing us to check in early because it was a short trip. Will definitely be coming back!
We were pleasantly surprised by the s’more kit they had set out for us. Was very relaxing. I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub just looking out at the trees. The house was clean and rustic with the wood walls. The find the gnome trail was fun and a little rugged. My app showed it is an altitude change of about 80 foot down to the creek and the same up the opposite hill. Then back to enjoy the firepitt.
The property is perfect for a getaway in the woods. We enjoyed the fire pit and rocking bed by the fire. The hot tub is perfect to catch the sunrise as well as a late night dip. It was a great spot for a few 40 year old dads enjoying hiking and biking in Ohiopyle for a couple days.
This place is perfect for any gathering where you want to feel disconnected from the world and truly be immersed in nature. The owners have gone to every extreme to provide all of the necessities to make your stay comfortable while keeping things very minimalist in nature. So many cute little add-ons that I won’t give away so you are surprised whenever you get there. This is my second stay and I will absolutely be back again!
Our daughter wanted to stay in a treehouse and this was more than we hoped for. The treehouse was clean, organized and quiet. It is close to so many activities so each of our gurls were able to find something that interested them. We loved that everything was clearly labeled and the extras were awesome. We had the oerfect getaway before school starts. We are hoping to come back to stay at the hobbit house.

About the host
Hosted by Nina Basile
Bob and Nina purchased this 40 acre tract of land in 2005 and built their home on the southern side of the property. They have slowly cleared and developed the property with a unique hiking trail and stream crossing to enjoy all of what their property has to offer. In 2018 they decided that they wanted to share this beautiful sanctuary with others by building a unique space that they could offer guests on a weekly rental basis. They decided that a Treehouse would offer the most unique experience and allow their guest to truly experience nature. Due to the unique nature of the project and the design and permitting process...it was lengthy to say the least and Bob (a former custom home builder) and Nina started construction in the summer of 2020. The treehouse was completed in June of 2021. The Treehouse is truly magical....and they can not wait to share their space and property with their guests. The property consists of a full kitchen, one full bath with shower, large living room with vaulted ceiling, and two bedrooms (both of which are on the 2nd floor),
Why they chose this property
You won't find a more unique space to relax in the Laurel Highlands. One of the few treehouses in the area that is actually supported by trees. You will be nestled in the hard woods and overlook a mountain stream valley filled with ferns and mountain laurels and have the opportunity to explore the property on your own private hiking trail. Almost all of the furniture was built by the owner and every small detail was thought of to make your experience one that won't be forgotten.
What makes this property unique
The property is centrally located close to everything in the Laurel Highlands. 6 minutes to Ohiopyle (PA's Largest State Park), 9 Minutes to Frank Lloyd Writes Kentuck Knob, 19 Minutes to Frank Lloyd Writes Fallingwater, 6 Minutes to Fort Necessity National Battlefield….and so much more. The property is secluded and far off of the road with no noise but that of nature. Your nearly mile long private trail system will allow you to explore the Appalachian mountains and take you across Cucumber Run stream which is the main stream feeding Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle. The property also has a custom made cylindrical firepit with animals, trees, and cabins cut into the shape that is truly mesmerizing during your evening camp fire. You can also enjoy the cozy hot tub perched on the hillside overlooking the forest valley below.
