pond is a natural sanctuary that provides peaceful seclusion from the noisy world while offering many modern amenities. Wonderful, secluded getaway

Loved our stay!

This is much more than a cottage, it’s an adventure! We loved walking the trails, kayaking, making campfires, admiring nature, and of course relaxing in the hot tub! Everything was super clean and comfortable and we loooved the cookies (and ate them all!) We would love to come back!

Get-away Bliss

We loved our stay. We wanted to get away from everything and this place absolutely did that. Loved relaxing in the hot tub each night. It was cute and the paths were great. We also enjoyed meeting the friendly dogs at the farm. Would definitely go back!

Escape from the city

Great trip for our family. Nice and secluded but close enough to things we wanted to do. Lots of details well planned for this cottage as well. My kids loved the snacks left for us

14th Wedding anniversary

Hands down this was the most zen and serene place to stay we loved every part of the house the land and the bonus of a huge hot tub if your looking for something off the beaten path this is the place for you. Also the homemade chocolate chip cookies were delish

Highly Recommend

The cottage was the most well stocked place we have ever rented. It had everything you could need. It was also clean and comfortable for my family of 5. The outside was peaceful and beautiful, we enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend.

Amazing place!

Beautiful property! Pictures do NOT do it justice. It’s was so peaceful and serene. Just what we needed. The house was super cute and clean. It had everything we needed. The homemade cookies were a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again!

Hidden Gem

The property was absolutely stunning with plenty of trails to walk, a pond to take the kids out on, and the perfect setup to relax any where. Our hosts were great and clear with communication. They left a few thoughtful goodies and thought of everything including outdoor games. The cottage was clean and even bigger then we expected- it was perfect for our family getaway and I will be reccomending this stay to friends and family.

Fully Appointed Peaceful Haven

The house itself is wonderfully equipped with anything you would ever need! A delightfully private, peaceful, beautiful property - just a few minutes away from available restaurants and activities (we rented a pontoon at Diamond Lake ten minutes away). Clean as a whistle, which is my #1 requirement at a rental. If you want modern, this may not be for you - it's updated in all the important ways (kitchen/bath) but maintains cottage charm. <3

Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. It was like staying in a sanctuary. There were places to sit and paths to walk. There were games to play outdoors, every amenity one could imagine and the softest bath towels we've ever used. There were homemade chocolate chip cookies on the counter--I would love to have the recipe....I wish we could have enjoyed more time exploring. I needed a place to stay to attend a funeral, but this place was a gift during an extremely difficult time and I will treasure our stay for the beauty and comfort we found here.

Just book it!

Lincoln and Shelly blew my expectations out of the water. The property is immaculate, I mean every piece of this place inside and out is maintained with GREAT care. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality supplies. There are tons of outdoor games for the kids, plenty of outdoor seating in thoughtful spots to catch the sunrise and sunset or to just enjoy the expansive views. They provide kayaks, life vests, bonfire supplies. These hosts thought of it all. The sweetest gesture was the freshly baked cookies and complimentary ground beef from their farm. The communication was spot on, they are excellent hosts and were diligent about checking to make sure we were satisfied with the stay. I loved how secluded and quiet the location was, it’s the perfect spot to both get away and explore nature. The walking paths and trails are beautifully maintained and so much fun to explore. The wildflowers are stunning we had fun identifying the different ones. Thank you all for opening your cottage to us, we made memories this weekend that we will treasure forever.

Fantastic Getaway!

This place could not have been better for what we were looking for. As others have mentioned, the pictures really don't do this place justice. Inside is quaint but very cozy. There is plenty of room to spread out within the limited amount of space. The kitchen and bathrooms are both updated and very nice. The wifi was fast and held connection throught the house (and went as far as the fire pit!) Outside was a dream. There are basically 3 porches and a fire pit area which all hold 6+ comfortably. On top of that there is a beautiful view of a field from the fire pit and many some great trails to walk. The property is very secluded and private which allowed us all to unwind and really take in the countryside. This may sound weird but our group actually couldn't stop admiring one prominent tree on the edge of the field and the tree line, you'll know which when you see it. While the inside is comfortable and inviting, the real appeal lies in the property itself. The host was communicative and informative along with being very accommodating (the cookies and baked goods were fantastic!) With the welcome binder there are also recommendations to local restaurants. We ended up going to Sister Lakes Brewing and it was amazing! I'll end the review here, but could go on. We were blown away at every turn. Do not hesitate if you're considering this property! It's the hidden gem of Dowagiac! We will definitely be back!

Amazing as always

This was our second time staying at the property and it was an absolute joy. The grounds and surrounding area are all beautiful, and the owners have great communication. We highly recommend this property for anybody looking for a little nature get-a-way.

Girls weekend 2022

The pictures do not do this property justice! Complete peace and quiet. There are several outdoor seating areas good for sunset or sun rise. We loved using the map of the property to find the pond! It was like a treasure map! Fresh baked cookies and lemonade waiting for us! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could need. If you want a peaceful getaway this is the place! We will definitely be back!

We have been providing some of the best grassfed organic beef to Southern Michigan, Northern Indiana, and beyond for 30 years and have been told countless times how beautiful the property is. Upon acquisition of a contiguous property with this cottage we endeavored to develop an oasis that would honor that heritage.

The farm has been organic since 1983 and it offers a splendid sanctuary from the noisy world; with its diverse array of wildlife and plants it is a nature lovers oasis. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Wildflower gardens abound. The dark sky experience here will appeal to star gazers and offers excellent satellite tracking . Avid air traffic watchers will find the property is on the flight path of many area and national city's airports. Bird watchers will find many native and migratory birds very plentiful. There is a small but growing library of books related to nature and conservation provided that will include writings of one of the founders of this farm and organic standards (mom).
