About this property

Dogwood House - 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, Hi Speed Internet, Covered Porch

Simple, private and quietness in the woods, the one level Dogwood House will meet your requirements for being on your own but away from it all. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath roomy manufactured home with spacious covered front porch is the perfect vacation getaway. Sleeping 6 comfortably with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, this home offers a quiet retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle of the world. Enjoy that first cup of coffee each morning as you hear the mountain breeze sway through the trees. Join the family out by the campfire grill and enjoy the evening in the outdoors, under the stars.

The spacious free flowing living area with large wood log fireplace is the perfect for a family and friends gathering. No one is left out as this wonderful space encompasses an open kitchen and informal dining area. The cooks in the family will enjoy the company around the breakfast bar sharing stories of the day or enjoying a meal or a game of cards around one of two dining tables. The master king bedroom and master bath are located just steps from the kitchen and just down the hall is one queen bedroom with full bathroom and a third bedroom with two twin beds. All on just one level.

Dogwood House offers central heat and air, Spectrum high speed internet, Wi-Fi, laundry room with washer/dryer, a large screen Firestick and YouTube Smart TV, wood fireplace, campfire charcoal grill, covered front porch and everything you came to the mountains to enjoy.

Please note this is a dog friendly property, one dog 30 pounds or less or two small dogs 15 pounds or less are accepted. It is the guest's responsibility to contact the property manager at Maggie Mountain Vacations as there is an additional non-refundable pet fee, not included in the base rent. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty.  The approach to this property is a paved access mountain road with an increase in incline as you get closer to the home. The drive is gravel with some steepness.  We do experience seasonal inclement weather in this region. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and/or snow tire chains would be required in winter weather driving events. Exterior security cameras are on premise.

There is so much to do around this vacation home all year-round. Dogwood House is easy paved access during the summer months and is located just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

This home is about a 20 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).

A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 antique shops.

Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).

Great place

Will be booking again in the future. Only issue we had was one of the cars could not get up the driveway, it was pretty steep. They were able to park at the bottom and walk up.

Easy access to Maggie Valley

Spacious home with plenty of pot/pans. Easy access to the cabin while we were there. I can see how that might be a problem if there is snow or ice—steep roads and pretty rough driveway. We enjoyed our stay there. The only negative is the deposit was more than I would have expected and will not be refunded until 14 business days after checkout. Hopefully that will come through as expected. That seems excessive to me.

Mountain Home

This rental definitely had the comfortable feel of someone’s home. It was cozy but very spacious also. Kitchen was large, had lots of seating at tables and was the best well stocked of any rental we’ve been to. King bed in primary was very comfortable as well as the queen and twins in the other two bedrooms. Lots of closet space was appreciated. We loved the porch which had the view of the mountains and also all the colors of the trees everywhere. Very quiet area. The driveway was steep, glad to have an SUV. It was a wonderful stay in Maggie Valley ⛰️

Very nice retreat in the woods

Very nice house, well equipped kitchen, convenient location to restaurants, shops and hiking trails. Management made the check in & out convenient, simple and fast. The owner is friendly, easy to reach in case you need help. We had a very pleasant vacation there.

Wonderful home in Maggie Valley!

This house was incredible. We loved the location - it was a short drive to everything nearby (including Maggie Valley and Waynesville) but was secluded up in the mountains. The driveway is steep and I drive a small car without 4 wheel drive, but I had no issues making it up. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances and equipment, the air conditioning worked very well, and the home had so much space. There were only 2 of us but you could easily and comfortably fit 6. We loved the Roman tub and the king size bed in the master bedroom. We cannot wait to return!
