Loon's Nest Cabin
Welcome to Loon's Nest Cabin, one of eleven charming cabins at Les Cheneaux Landing Resort, located just off the M-134 Scenic By-way (a designated scenic route) that stretches along 50 miles of Lake Huron shoreline in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Visitors to the area can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, kayaking, hiking, bird watching and exploring small communities like Hessel and Cedarville. The area is known for its charming small towns and rich history, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Loon’s Nest Cabin offers a warm atmosphere with pine wood paneling, a combination living
room/kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Each bedroom features a comfortable full-size bed, perfect for a restful night's sleep. The living room couch also makes into a twin bed. The cabin was updated in 2023 & 2024 with vinyl flooring, new appliances and furnishings.
One of the highlights of Loon's Nest is the screened-in front porch. This serene spot is ideal for watching the sunrise, enjoying your morning coffee, reading a good book, or simply soaking in the refreshing Les Cheneaux breezes.
The cabin offers a side view of the lake, overlooking the yard and the sand beach volleyball court. Additionally, there is a lawn area in front of the cabin with a picnic table and a charcoal grill, ideal for outdoor gatherings, and it’s just a short stroll across the yard to the beach and docks.

• Two Bedrooms: Sleeps 5. Each bedroom is furnished with comfortable, full-sized beds, ensuring a restful stay. Also, the living room couch makes into a twin size bed. Bed linens and pillows are furnished. We ask our renters to provide their own bath and kitchen linens.
• Combination Kitchen/Dining/Living Room: Whip up delicious meals with ease in the fully equipped kitchen while enjoying the rustic charm of the cabin.
• One Bathroom: The bathroom has a fiberglass stall shower, toilet & sink.
• Screened-In Front Porch: The porch extends along the front of the cabin, complete with chairs and a small table great for meals on the porch, crafts, or your favorite card game.
• Picnic Table and Charcoal Grill: A family size picnic table and kettle style grill are provided.
• Sandy Swimming Beach: Just steps away from the cabin, the sandy beach and beach dock offer the ideal spot for sunbathing, swimming, or building sandcastles with the family. Kids and adults enjoy playing on the floating water mat provided in the swimming area.
• Community Firepit: Nestled on the beach, the community campfire area provides the perfect atmosphere where guests can unwind, share stories, and enjoy the warmth of the fire under the stars.
• Spacious Yard, Sand Beach Volleyball Court, Basketball Court, Horseshoes, Swing Set: All cabin renters at LCL have access to 250 feet of waterfront, beach, docks, volleyball and basketball courts, horseshoes, swing set, and a spacious, well-maintained lawn area suitable for croquet, bocce ball, cornhole, or most any other yard game.
• Docks & Boat Slip Rentals: LCL’s location on the Snows Channel is the ideal spot for boating & fishing enthusiasts. The updated docks (built in 2020 & 2024) can accommodate most any size boat as well as provide the perfect spot for catching some rays, relaxing & enjoying the view, or fishing for a variety of pan fish, including perch, pike & bass.
• Fishing Boat Rentals/Kayaks: Outboard fishing boats are available to rent and LCL offers two complimentary, one-person kayaks for guests to use on a first come, first served basis.
• Dog Friendly: Your dog is welcome to accompany you on your vacation adventures. The charge for a dog is $20 per night/$100 per week with a limit of 2 dogs per cabin. You will be asked to sign a dog agreement & waiver form. Upon request, this form can be sent prior to your stay, for your review.
• Internet Access: WiFi is available in all cabins, though service may occasionally be inconsistent.
• On-Site Property Managers: Mark and Esther Engle reside on the premises and are available to provide assistance at most times during the day and night.

o Snows Bar & Grill: A local favorite, located across the street from LCL, known for its lodge decor, outdoor dining, live music, and good food, including their famous “Snows Burger.”

o The Les Cheneaux Distillery - Offering craft spirits and beer, as well as a unique menu.
o Cattails Cove: Another excellent choice, known for its yellow perch sandwich.

• The Les Cheneaux Islands are a captivating archipelago comprising 36 islands that stretch along twelve miles of the northern Lake Huron shoreline, nestled between the charming towns of Cedarville and Hessel. These islands are dotted with numerous private cottages and picturesque boathouses, creating a serene and idyllic landscape.
