Rustic luxury

Our large family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home on stunning woodland grounds. The house has every amenity you can imagine. While there is a lot to do in the Charlevoix area, you don’t even need to leave the property.

Perfect in every way!

We rented this property for family attending a wedding Labor Day weekend. Communication with the property owner and property manager in advance of our arrival was great. The property has everything you need for a family gathering or if you want to just escape. We love the aesthetics/decor, great star gazing, gorgeous outdoor fireplace. Plenty of space and the showers are amazing! Convenient to Castle Farms, and there’s a great bakery just down the road.

Quiet getaway with beautiful grounds

Our family immensely enjoyed our time at this home. The lake and land around this house was amazing. There is something for everyone: hiking paths, a lake for canoeing/kayak, tennis court, soccer court, decks to watch the birds and sunset...if you like the outdoors you will love this property. The grounds are beautiful. While the location is outside of Traverse City, we found plenty of good places to eat and drink around the area. We enjoyed this property both as a point to explore the area as well as a place to enjoy outdoors when we decided not to go further afield.

Gorgeous retreat!

This is a gorgeous home with plenty of room on an amazing piece of property with hiking trails, a lake, basketball/tennis courts and plenty of outdoor space for dining. We brought our dogs and they LOVED running around on the property. It was winter time and there was plenty of firewood available to create warm, inviting fires. The hosts also provide all the basics including shampoo and soap, towels, kitchen wares, salt, pepper, spices, and washing detergent. We hope to go back soon and definitely recommend it!

Beautiful!

We had an amazing experience staying for a long weekend in January 2023. The log cabin is truly breathtaking, on an incredible 320 acre parcel of land, with birch and pine trees that go on forever, nestled in on a beautiful lake. The log cabin is immaculate, with amazing floorplan that is perfect for a large family or multiple families to enjoy. The décor is perfect for a log cabin, complementing the wood log design in every room. There is a chef’s kitchen that is great for cooking, that is adjacent to the large great room, with an enormous stone fireplace that goes all the way up to the 2nd floor. We had a wonderful experience staying here, it was magical, and we look forward to many return visits.

Family Friendly Oasis

Booked a fall 5 night extended weekend for our daughters wedding at Castle Farms. We spent great family time with our 4 adult children, their spouses and 6 grandchildren. This fabulous log cabin style home with over 300 acres and a private lake were nothing less than awesome. Only drawback was we endured a nasty weekend of weather. It rained and was windy the entire stay, however being holed up in this comfy log cabin we still had a great weekend with family. The home offered us great family time with fires, good food, games and of course our daughter's Cinderella wedding in Charlevoix. We would love to bring our family back for a week long stay during the summer. Would love to get out and explore the gorgeous property and do some fishing on the private lake.

Exceptional Property

It's plain to see that the owners here love this house. There is so much work evident to maintain the massive house, sprawling property, sporting equipment, lakeside features, hiking trails, etc. We had 14 family members from 63 to 2 years old enjoy this house for a week. Almost all meals were prepared at the home, including every dinner. Early mornings on the lake set the tone for relaxed days. Late nights around the outside fireplace (including meteor showers and bug-clearing bats!) set the stage for memorable stories being made. Every place has some shortcomings, but in this case, so few that I can honestly say that it will be top of our list for the next family gathering destination.

Beautiful peaceful location!

Our extended family of 14 just returned from visiting the cabin on Moblo lake. The cabin was very clean and offered a very quiet, peaceful, location to spend time together catching up. It could use some minor maintenance with some cabinets/drawers not closing all the way, the oven door was loose, microwave door would stick randomly, a screen door was ripped and unusable, hammock was also ripped, and there was a giant beehive in the rafters outside (thankfully they didn’t come down much though). We enjoyed going around the lake in the boats that were provided, hiking, bike riding, and playing on the tennis/basketball court! The cabin is just a short drive to Lake Michigan, Torch Lake, and Lake Charlevoix which provided lots of options for recreation and shopping as well. We couldn’t find any catchable fish in the lake but did see some turtles, frogs, deer, a bald eagle, and heard the howl of a nearby coyote. If you’re looking for a quiet remote location, this is definitely it!

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

Our family of 16 (adults and children) loved our stay at this house! The house itself is very clean, well equipped and in a phenomenal setting right next to a peaceful quiet lake. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO homes but have never encountered a home that had as many things to do right on the property. We used the ping pong table, pool table, bikes, kayaks, canoes, motorized fishing boat, tennis and basketball courts, and virtually lived on the huge wraparound deck. The deck itself is very well maintained with no loose or rough boards. The kitchen was stocked with more than enough plates, baking pots and pans, and utensils than we could use. We also enjoyed the fire pit! You could easily spend a week here and find things to do without ever having to leave the property. We did have an issue with the internet going out and the property manager took care of it very promptly and professionally. And all of our correspondence with the owner has been wonderful - very responsive and professional. Our group has never talked in the past about possibly coming back to the same house for a future vacation, but the consensus this time was we could definitely see ourselves vacationing here again in the future. It’s a wonderful place to stay and we definitely could have stayed longer!

Our family of 11 very much enjoyed the Moblo lake property and home.

The home setting here is just beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Our family gathered here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The home is well equipped with everything you need. Beautiful outdoor deck with fireplace. If you enjoy the outdoors and a peaceful quiet place this home is ideal. We enjoyed fishing, walking playing basketball, tennis and it is not far from Charlevoix . Great place and we would definitely consider returning. Owner and caregiver of the home were quick to respond and wonderful to work with.

Beautiful Private Getaway

We had a great stay at this lovely house. The property is amazing - and we had a ton of snow! I can imagine it’s even more beautiful during the warmer months. The house was charming, equpied with everything we needed, great for families (we shared with another family and there was plenty of space for kids and adults). We stayed pretty hunkered in, enjoying sledding and romping outside, but it was an easy trip to Charlevoix while still feeling like you were out in your own mature retreat! The owner and managers were very responsive and helpful for getting in/out, and we would definietly return in the future!

Charlevoix winter retreat

We were so happy to return to the beautiful Log Home on Lake Moblo. Our family enjoyed walking the property with our dog, skiing at Nubs Nob and Boyne Mountain and returning to relax in front of the fireplace. We also enjoyed making our meals in the gourmet kitchen which is well equipped. We thoughtouly enjoyed our visit and hope to return next year.

The perfect cabin retreat

Our group of 6 adults and 6 kids had a wonderful 5 days at this property. It was great to have 3 "master" bedrooms with their own bathrooms, and then 2 bunk rooms for the boys and girls down in the basement. I've never stayed at a rental property with more dishes, pots, cooking supplies, shampoos and soaps, even floss and toothbrushes if you forgot yours. It was very thoughtful and felt like you were staying at a friend's house not a rental. The only thing we were disappointed about was that the new family room fireplace was not operational, but we did have a few fires out on the patio (though it was cold)! The house is about 30 mins from Boyne Mountain, so it's an easy drive for skiing. I would highly recommend!!!

Perfect House

My experience from start to finish with Charles was amazing. The property has 6 bedrooms, 3 huge bedrooms and 5 of the bedrooms have a massive bathroom. The house is spotless and very clean. The property manager Gary was very responsive checkin in and out. The tranquility feeling stands out at this property. 40 acre private lake on 300+ acre property is very nice. The kids would get up in morning and go play tennis and basketball. The house is 10 mins from downtown Charlevoix. We had an amazing time and look forward to coming back in the future.

Family Bliss

Our family of 11 came to MI to spend some quiet time in nature together. The log cabin and the grounds provided the perfect setting—we sat around the fire and played board games, painted a picture, put together the craziest of jig saw puzzles, cooked everyday in the kitchen, ate at the huge table, went sledding and hiked the trails. We took several ventures out to surrounding towns. The Andrews home was perfect for our group (ages 3 to 76, and a 3 year old dog). We will definitely be coming back!

Hidden Gem

When turning into the driveway of the Andrews home, you slowly drive from reality into a dream lakeside vacation getaway. Having 300 acres to explore and your own private 40-acre lake was a once in a lifetime experience. The house is the epitome of rustic luxury and immediately makes you feel at home. It was the most relaxing family vacation we ever had. We highly recommend it.

Excellent house for family reunion

The house was ideal for our annual family reunion. We spent much time in the living room, kitchen and adjoining porch overlooking the lake. Very peaceful, yet close to Charlevoix. Enough activities (boating, tennis, hiking) on the property to keep everyone occupied.

Best Thanksgiving!

This was the perfect home and location for a family gathering. The home was extremely well done with a great floor plan. Plenty of room on all floors with good size bedrooms and bathrooms. The private lake and large acreage make for a peaceful and relaxing retreat. When you want go to town, Charlevoix is just a short drive away. When considering Northern Michigan for a vacation, this luxury log home should be on your short list!

Five a Weeks in a Piece of Heaven

We spent five amazing weeks at the Andrews beautiful home. Words alone, can't describe the home or peaceful surroundings. We left the hustle and bustle of Dallas, to find cooler weather and peace. We found much at Lake Moblo. Our days consisted of morning coffee on the large deck overlooking the beautiful wooded lot, lake and wild life. We took hikes on the extensive trails covering over one mile of trails, biked, played tennis, boated and played basketball. Every night ended where we started our days overlooking the lake drinking fine wine, only to be capped each evening with a fire roaring on the deck. We went into Charlevoix often, and ventured to Bay Harbor several times. We rented a boat a few times and took our various guests on Lake Charlevoix, ranked the second most beautiful lake in the US only behind Lake Tahoe. The house offers everything you could ask for, with two masters bedrooms on the top floor, two on the main and two with extra beds and bunks on the ground floor. We had tough time leaving this piece of heaven and we highly recommend this home to others. Thank you Margolyn and Charles.

A Treasure in the Woods

Our family just returned from a 2 weeks stay at the Andrew's Log Cabin, and all of us agreed that it was a perfect place for a vacation. Their home is so well appointed and spacious, but homey, too. Although we were a crowd, there was ample space for all of us; with room to spare. The appeal was not only indoors, but outdoors as well. Manicured lawns, groves of birch trees, meadows, lots of hiking trails and a peaceful lake with fish....and loons!. Although Charlevoix , Petoskey and Lake Michigan were only a short distance away, there were many activities available right on the premises; enough for each one of us(ages 6-81). We all agreed that it was an ideal week, and that we would recommend it to our friends in a heartbeat! Thank you to the Andrews for sharing their home....it is a treasure!
