Cozy Alaskan Cabin, with rare Northern Lights views...
Mountain and City VIEW property! Charming and cozy home with a view just outside the city of Fairbanks. The cabin has all of the amenities for your comfort while being in a forest-like setting, with amazing views. From September-April if the northern lights are out, you can view them right outside the cabin. Come and relax in this calm, stylish space. The aurora is right outside the cabin on any given night...
Side note: Staying in the city of Fairbanks makes viewing the northern lights extremly difficult due to light pollution. The cabin being a few miles outside of town makes it the perfect location and conditions for viewing the northern lights, having zero light polllution.

Our family of 3 had a good time. The cabin has a good space and everything you need. There is only one small heater in the living room, but it heats fast enough to make our stay comfortable. The cabin is about 8 miles from Fairbanks downtown in a quiet neighborhood. We didn’t see the northern lights, unfortunately, it was too cloudy, We recommend Trudy’s cabin.
This cottage was a comfortable and fairly well-equipped place for a couple to stay while hoping to get lucky with an Aurora Borealis display. The description of the cabin having an Aurora view is a bit of a stretch. You can see a bit between the trees, but it's not a great view, and the next door neighbors' lights interfere. You really have to drive somewhere to get a good view (watch the Aurora app and be prepared to go out in the wee hours; our best viewing occurred between 1 and 3 am). Ask locals for suggestions about where to go.About the house: nice automatic light to reduce the risk of slipping while entering, but watch the step down into the living area and up into the bedroom. The heat worked well, except in the bedroom (which we like cool anyway) and bathroom (which could use an auxiliary heat source). Good bed, good shower (although a little dark). Kitchen is pretty well supplied with glasses, dishes and pots and pans, but the set of kitchen knives is so bad it's dangerous - definitely needs replacing. Would be nice, since there's a microwave, if there were some microwavable containers (pyrex bowls/casseroles) for warming food, and some food storage containers for leftovers. We appreciated the spaciousness of the rooms and the quiet and scenic surroundings. Overall, a comfortable place to stay.
Enjoyed our time at the cabin with some caveats. Great communication and opportunity to see the Northern Lights both at the cabin and in the vicinity. Could not beat the price compared to other options we observed. Comfy furniture and very clean. Great shower. Trudy was very helpful when we requested to extend our stay to further our attempt to see the Northern Lights and with viewing location options. A couple of things of note. Unreported steps creating issues if mobility challenged both inside the front door and exiting the bedroom. Cabin warmed by small heating unit in the living room leaving cabin cold in some areas(bedroom/bathroom). No extension cord provided to plug in car as plug is about 20 or so feet from the parking space. Rental car cord much too short, so we donated a 25-footer.
My stay at this property was wonderful, everything was clean and tidy, and very close to the various winter activities i had planned. I was quite lucky to see the northern lights on the first night. The property location is great as it is far enough away from Fairbanks to avoid the majority of the light pollution making it much easier to view the northern lights, but close enough that it does not take long to get anywhere within Fairbanks.
There was an issue with VRBO, however Trudy dedicated a considerable amount of time working with VRBO to resolve the issue. I would recommend this accommodation 100%.
Trudy was such a a wonderful host! Gave us tips to see the Aurora and was super communicative. The place had everything we needed. Not fancy, but comfy and fantastic location for the price! Saw the Northern lights right outside. And the view from the kitchen/dining room was so beautiful.
Will definitely stay again if /when we go back!
Our stay in this cozy cabin was great. Our first time to Alaska . Great location, close to everything. Our host, Trudy was very helpful . We saw the northern lights from outside our cabin which was amazing!!! Would stay again. Jeff and Pat, Tennessee

Last January I booked a couple of VRBOs in the area for a family vacay in Fairbanks this month - July 2024. It was my first time booking and I didn't make it clear that I was booking this one for my brother & his wife. The confusion that I created between the host, her name is Trudy, and VRBO had to be cleared up, which Trudy and I were easily able to do, thanks to her patience. The cabin was adorable, clean, and met all John's & Tonya's needs while being private and off the beaten path. One night Trudy called to tell them the Auroras were out, giving my brother & his wife a fabulous viewing from their front yard! It was a truly perfect location and home away from home for this trip. Thanks Trudy!!! We'd stay in your house any time!!
We enjoyed our stay at Cozy Alaskan cabin. Owner communicated well and cabin was clean. We also got to see the northern lights overhead standing in the driveway.

This is indeed a cozy cabin. Lots of sunlight. Comfortable bed and kitchen/ living room. Everything you need is there. About 10 miles away from stores, restaurants and downtown Fairbanks. We decided to rent a car and it worked out well. The pricing of the cabin was very reasonable compared to typical hotels in the area. Definitely worth considering a visit.
From the moment we first stepped in the door, our stay at the cabin was every bit what we expected! The place was spotless, the neighborhood was quiet and a short drive to everything we wanted to see in Fairbanks.
In life problems happen and it's usually not the problem we remember but how people react to the problem. One small glitch we had that was no fault of our host Trudy, the water company delivered water to the wrong address two days before our arrival. A new driver was the culprit. In rural Alaska wells are uncommon due to drilling depths and arsenic from mining, so underground storage is the norm. When we woke up the first morning of our stay and had no water we contacted Trudy who took action immediately and within a couple hours we had water and problem solved. A tip of the hat to Trudy for quickly revolving the issue and saving us from having to find alternative housing which we were not looking forward to. Future renters can rest assured that this is highly unlikely to happen again and if it does you have host who very responsive.

In a nwighborhood
I was very disappointed for a number of reasons, the biggest being this “cozy cabin” was in the middle of a neighborhood with another home literally 50’ out the front door. The bathroom was very clean when we arrived, there was hair all over the toilet seat and in the sink.

We love staying at this little cabin. Great location and very comfortable. This was our second time here and this is our “go to” place to stay when we are in the Fairbanks area.

Out of the way from crowds.
Toilet seat needs tightened. It moves 3-4 inches side to side.
If I come back to Alaska I will be looking at this cabin again.

If you want to save some money and don't have particularly high standards. It's clean just not fancy.
We were there in mid-April. The property owner gave us text message alerts about the Aurora- we had to drive away a little bit because the auroras were weak & neighbors' yard lights too bright.
-I enjoyed having our own separate cabin & the large expanse of corner windows to view the trees & snow & distant view. So many other reasonably priced VRBO's were basement type rooms.
