Great property especially if you’re going to Schweitzer.
Host was very helpful and stayed in contact during our visit.
Great and comfortable accommodations
Thank you! We hope to return!
We had a great stay. When arriving the owner was very nice in quickly answering access questions. We liked the equal distance between Schweitzer for day skiing and Sandpoint for dinner. There was some noise from trains and trucks.
This condo at the base of Schweitzer mountain was clean and comfortable for our family of 4. We had a great time skiing - the parking lot is about a 15 minute drive from the condo (an early start is recommended as the parking lots can fill up). Communication was good with Tim (the owner). We would definitly consider staying here again.
Convenient spot to the mountain and vicinity. The owners are super attentive. Condo is comfortable and well stocked. The covered parking spot is small for a SUV when the neighbor’s spot is occupied. But the nice part is the owners accommodated us in another spot. Thank you!
The condo is in a great location, in relation to Sandpoint and the ski resort (Schweitzer): about 10 min from town and 15 min from the resort. The small development is surrounded by woods and feels like you are in the mountains. The only drawback to the location is occasional noise issues. It's only about a quarter mile from railroad tracks and if you have the windows open, you will hear the trains quite distinctly - and there are quite a few during the day (and night). You will also hear the noise from the road to the ski resort (maybe 100 yds away). We stayed during the summer and there was a lot of construction going on at the resort, so there were numerous large trucks headed up there. With the windows closed (in the winter or when using the AC), the noise is not as noticeable. The host was one of the BEST we have ever encountered. Communication was excellent and he was very responsive. I asked about a hair dryer the first day we were there and the host dropped off a brand new one (plus a new blender, which we hadn't mentioned), just a few hours later. He was right on top of all our communications and was very easy to work with. The condo was well supplied, with 2 coffee makers (drip and Keurig), blender, plenty of dishes, decent cookware (often lacking in rentals), kitchen knives, and lots more. The Roku TV provided lots of options and variety for entertainment. Even though there was just 2 of us, having a 2nd bathroom was very helpful. In our opinion, the biggest "con" of the condo is that it is very dated - furniture, decorating, main bathroom.
We had a great stay here. The hosts have included those extra touches to anticipate what you might need. Beds are comfy. Even though it was summer and not skiing weather, we really enjoyed Schweitzer Mountain and spent a day there walking around and riding the ski lift. What a beautiful place! Also nice and close to Sandpoint and Silverwood. We hope to be back!
It was wonderful the property is so much nicer than the pictures represented. The kitchen was well stocked compared to most condos with useful utensils and other kitchen equipment. They even had some spices and basic staples that could be used, very nice! The only two items we could not find but would have been useful would be a blender and a crockpot. The blankets and comforter in the master bedroom felt luxurious. We were really surprised that there was a powder room in addition to the one bathroom. That made all the difference in the world for the five of us.
Great location for skiing Schweitzer! The condo was exactly as described, and had everything we needed. We appreciated the coffee and hot chocolate the hosts left for us!

About the host
Hosted by Tim Wilcox
Our family has vacationed in Sandpoint for more than 15 years and finally moved here full-time in 2019. We love the atmosphere of the area, the close access to skiing, fishing, hiking, swimming, boating and good eating! We purchased the Mountainbrook condo in 2021 in hopes of providing a place for friends, family, and vacationers to enjoy and get acquainted with Sandpoint just as we have over the years.
Why they chose this property
The location of our Mountainbrook condo is perfect! It sits essentially 1/2 way between Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort and downtown Sandpoint. In the winter, our guests can be snow-skiing within 20 minutes of leaving the condo and in the summertime, they can be swimming in Lake Pend Oreille's City Beach or enjoying terrific dining/drinking downtown within 15 minutes.
What makes this property unique
There are so many things to do within minutes of Mountainbrook: snow-skiing, water-skiing, fishing, hunting, mountain-biking, hiking, eating, drinking, or just relaxing!
