Located directly across the street from the famous Lehman's Hardware in Kidron, OH. Guests will have this ENTIRE house that sleeps up to 10 for one low price. Large jetted walk-in shower and garden soaking tub!!! ****ATTENTION****We understand that inflation and economic uncertainty plays a major role in taking a much-needed vacation. We have decided to do something different to help our future guests for the upcoming year. We have REDUCED our nightly rates and fees for 2024, so that guests can still take that special journey into Amish Country!!!! We hope this is a blessing to those that choose to book with us.

Staff Retreat

Our small staff got away together for a couple days of planning and brainstorming. It was the absolute perfect place to work together with comfortable seating and room to relax and enjoying friendship as well. The house is immaculately clean. It is decorated very tastefully and has been updated very nicely. We would highly recommend this place to others.

Quaint Stay in Amish Country

This home is adorable! Each bedroom has a book based theme, and it totally added to the charm of the home. The property is located next to Kidron Pizza, across the street from Lehman’s, and down the street from various shops and businesses, which was really convenient, but it also led to a decent amount of horse drawn carriage traffic, which was so cool. There is also an adorable barn like convenience store within a couple of minutes walk. The location is an easy, scenic drive to Berlin, where Amish stores abound. When we were leaving the property, you could see three horse drawn carriages at one time down the street from the Storybook Inn. It’s like stepping into a different world during your stay, and we highly recommend staying at The Storybook Inn!

old world charm with new conveniences

Visited with my sisters and 2 children under 2. The farmhouse has been nicely redone with tasteful book themed decor, new bathroom features, and appliances. Hosts welcomed us even though we booked short notice. Check-in was a breeze with the door code. Appreciated that check out was easy too with only one or two things to do before leaving. It was down in the 20s and windy while we were there but the house stayed warm. As others have mentioned, the upstairs with the bedrooms tended to be warmer than downstairs but we just adjusted the thermostat at night. If I was already awake (i.e. from baby) I noticed an increase in road noise around 5 AM. it wasn't loud enough to wake me or the other adults staying in the house. The provided pac-n-play was handy, just bring your own sheet. The internet worked well for the movies we streamed in the evening. We enjoyed ordering food from the pizza and sandwich place next door, walking over to Leman's, and visiting other sights in the area. If it had been nicer weather would have enjoyed spending time at the park just up the street. Thanks for a great stay!

Quaint and Perfect for a Quick Stay!

Property matched the pictures represented. Easy in and out for a quick stay! Bedrooms are all upstairs if that matters to you. Adorably decorated with alot of "book references" for those that are readers and have little ones. It was close to a busy main road, but that was the only draw back for us. Would return if in the area. If you go here, do yourself a favor and go to 63 Corks Restaurant for dinner!

Great weekend visiting our son

We had a lovely time visiting our son at the College of Wooster. We made a nice home cooked meal of Hungarian goulash and invited 3 of our son’s friends to dinner. Thanks for being our “home away from home.” Lehman’s across the street gave us the opportunity to also have a bit of a tourist experience despite the short overnight trip

Such a wonderful place to stay

The Storybook Inn exceeded our expectations. It was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. Check-in was easy. The property owner was very kind and easy to work with. The house was decorated tastefully. We will stay here again.

Ladies Trip

This was our second year at the Storybook Inn. Our Ladies group comes every year to Ohio. We just love the beautiful home. It is a great place to come and relax and enjoy each other’s company. The house is very well kept nice and clean. Home away from home. We will be booking again next year unless our number grows bigger. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful home, convenient location

We were a party of 5 women, all family, staying for our annual cousin’s trip to Amish country! I would like to thank Heath and family for offering their home for such a reasonable price. Reserving, checking in and checking out were smooth, with reasonable checkout requests. The home was spotless upon arrival. The decor is so fun without being overdone. The home is very comfortable and we lacked nothing of necessity. We found the house rather quiet for being so close to the road. There are a couple of food places very close, as well as coffee house, ice cream, grocery store. Lehmans is just across the street. We loved the furniture store (visit the upstairs) and found the ladies there so charming! It’s a great house for families, couples, or girls weekends! I would stay again and highly recommend to others!

Breath of fresh air.

Clean, cozy and relaxing. While passing through Kidron on a girls trip, we visited Lehmans literally across the street, dined at Kidron Town & Country. Loved sitting on the front porch eating ice cream from the shop next door, watching the world go by. Very cute farm house!

Fun girls overnight

Nice house, plenty of space for all of us. Very clean and well appointed. Great shower and tub! Good location and a nice little convenient place next door with great food.

Highly recommend

The house is very comfortable and accomodating. The neighbirhood is quiet and people are very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. Communication with the owner was excellent.we will definitely rent again if we are in the area on another trip.

Perfect little Inn!

We had a wonderful stay. Our children enjoyed all the bookish details. The property was just right for our stay. So nice to come "home" to after a day of exploring Amish country! Would gladly stay again if the opportunity arises!

Second Trip In 2024

We enjoyed staying at The Storybook Inn so much in June we came back again in August to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The house is cozy, super clean, homey, located right across the street from Lehman's Hardware and the owners were incredible to work with! They left us an anniversary card and a "Welcome Back" card for our son along with a delicious pie. We enjoyed our trip and our time spent at The Storybook Inn so much we hated to see it end and we look forward to coming back next year!

Amish getaway

The Storybook Inn is a beautiful home that is well taken care of and loved. Each room is themed with a book and is so tastefully done! We needed a place that was quiet and comfortable for our family of 4 for a night's stay on the way home to Buffalo. We were so delighted as the pictures actually look exactly like the home. I must admit I was apprehensive because the home is located on a busy street (and I am a SUPER light sleeper) and we slept in the room that was street side; I was shocked that not only did I get a wonderful night's sleep, but if there was any street noise, I didn't hear it! Heath was a gracious host and was incredibly helpful and communicated well with us. Plenty of room for everyone, don't hesitate!

Ideal home

This property was beautifully renovated and decorated nicely. Two nice sitting areas with one having a pullout sleeper that could be used as a fourth bedroom if necessary. Bathrooms were huge… one with a nice soaking tub. 3 bedrooms were all nice size that accommodated my family of 8. Kitchen was nice even though we didn’t use it with the exception of the coffee maker ( which we were glad to see coffee there as well since I forgot to pack it). Location was easy to find and is right on the Main Street.. the kids liked sitting on the porch and watch the buggies go by. Our host was wonderful… great communication even when we left a baby blanket behind. He immediately contacted us and offered to mail it. We will certainly chose this place again

Birthday Getaway From West Virginia

We came up to Kidron to celebrate our son's 24th birthday. The house was warm, inviting, and cozy and the owners went above and beyond to accommodate our stay by surprising our son with a birthday cake and a "Happy Birthday" banner. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to get away to Amish country and the owners were phenomenal! We will definitely be back again!
