Discover this gorgeous island oasis just a 3-minute walk to the beach, nestled among sprawling, moss-draped live oaks in beautiful Palmetto Dunes. Upon entering, you will be immediately drawn to the fabulous outdoor living space and private pool ahead of you. Enjoy the spacious deck, mostly shaded by an awning, with plenty of comfortable seating for you and your family, all overlooking the private 14' x 28' *heatable pool. The back yard is completely fenced in, a rarity in Palmetto Dunes, increasing the level of privacy and security for your family. You’ll have plenty of space for everyone to get together or find their personal quiet spot. The free high-speed internet network covers the entire property, so you will have a secure and fast connection inside and out.
Inside is a gorgeous coastal-designed and well-equipped kitchen that steals the show. Quality comfortable furniture inside and out lets you enjoy your vacation in comfort. Take a break from all your fun in the sun with the Sony 75" 4K UltraHD TV in the spacious main living area, surrounded by five comfy recliners. At the end of the day, you’ll be ready for a night of restful sleep in one of the two king master suites, one on each end of the house, with separate HVAC thermostat control for each end. All four bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, plus an additional half bath near the den with the sleeper sofa. In the morning you’ll be ready for another fabulous day on Hilton Head Island!
We think our home is terrific for multi-generation family vacations, everything inside is on one level, a handful of steps down to pool deck or driveway. We provide access to garage for storing your bikes fishing rods, and golf clubs (not cars), and the use of a second refrigerator. Eight Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 12 quality beach towels, Shibumi beach shade, beach wagon, wheeled cooler, and beach umbrella are available for you to use without extra charge so you can pack less.

Perfect home for a family getaway!

This home is perfect for a family getaway with small children. It’s close to the beach access path, updated throughout, very clean, and has many thoughtful touches to make your vacation stress free. The host is extremely responsive and answered all of our questions right away. We hope to stay here again on future vacations!

Five star property

Our family has rented several properties for beach vacations over the years. This is by far the most comfortable home we have ever stayed in. We spent most of our time on the porch and in the pool. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. We have absolutely no complaints. Everything was great!

Perfect house in perfect location

Our family vacation was fabulous thanks to the Carothers and their beautiful home. The house was immaculate and the accommodations and pool were fabulous. Could not have asked for a better rental. We hope to rent from them again in the future

Such a Gem!

This property was lovely. Even better than pictured. The home was clean and well stocked. We appreciated the extra basket of beach towels. The location is perfect. We enjoyed riding bikes through Palmetto Dunes in the morning. The beach is an easy walk, maybe 4 min. The kids loved the pool. The back porch is a great place for everyone to gather. We spent many nights outside talking and watching the kids swim. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. I had a few questions for the owner during our stay and he responded immediately. This home is a gem! We can’t wait to return.

A great time in paradise

A beautiful house in paradise. Definitely the nicest house we have ever stayed in on HHI. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Had a well stocked kitchen. Easy access to the beach - about a 4 minute walk. The owner was very responsive when needed assistance (we needed an extra Pass into PD and decided to heat the pool). The main room had plenty of room for all 8 of us to watch TV or hang out. We loved hanging out on the back, covered porch. We had a great vacation and are hoping to stay here again next year.

Excellent property

Many amenities and extras throughout! The property was well maintained and beautifully appointed. Outdoor space is amazing. We had a 20-month old and 8 adults. There was plenty of room. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great home for the family!

Enjoyed our stay in the home. Had everything we needed and the Vacation Company was very responsive. Would definitely stay at this property again if we return to Hilton Head in the future.

Best property I’ve stayed in

The house was very clean when we arrived. Very nicely appointed with upgraded furniture and carpets. I particularly liked the premium mattresses. Nice kitchen with upgraded appliances. Big refrigerator. Also had a wine fridge. Plenty of room for our extended family. Only issue was that the turntable in the microwave did not work and the pool water was a little cloudy when we arrived. No big deal. Would re-rent.

87 Mooring Bouy

This was a great house!! It was nice having a one floor layout and we especially loved the pool area and porch. We would definitely rent this home again!! The following are a few things we encountered during this years rental: It was disappointing that we did not get the Golf channel on the TV, one would have thought that a vacation golfing community that the Golf channel would have been included in the cable package. The other disappointment was that the main living area had 2 boarded up sky lights, which made it dark in the house. Even on the sunniest days we had to turn the lights on. The kitchen was very well equipped with the exception that the ice maker did not work. As I said we loved the pool area it was great to have a hand rail to go up and down the steps. We noticed that there might be some upcoming pool renovations on a posted work order. We’d like to suggest lenghting the pool rail to the full length of the steps, it would make pool entry easier and safer for the seniors who maybe staying,

We looked at many condos, villas and houses for 3 years before finding our home at 87 Mooring Buoy. When we walked in I said "I think we have a winner here" and unlike all of the other properties we had looked at, this one had no deal breakers. We have worked very hard making it beautiful and comfortable and work constantly to keep it that way for our own enjoyment, and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you for considering staying in our home for your vacation, we trust that you will take care of it while you're here!

We love Palmetto Dunes because it is absolutely beautiful, the beaches are wide and not crowded, and there are beach access paths every few hundred feet along Mooring Buoy. We're centrally located on the island, minutes from many restaurants and shopping at Shelter Cove Harbour, and Shelter Cover Towne Centre (including a great Kroger grocery store), with Whole Foods just a few minutes away. We've stayed at Sea Pines, South and North Forest Beach while doing our home search, but to stay for the rest of our lives we chose Palmetto Dunes.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

Our home is in the 4th row from the beach, which means that you walk by 3 other homes along the beach access path to get to the beach. The time difference in walking to the beach from our home compared to a second or third row house is about a minute. The price difference for a week in a 2nd/3rd row vs our 4th row can be several thousand dollars. (I'm 69 with two bad hips and I can get my toes in the sand in 3 minutes.)

The fence in the back yard provides a level of privacy that very few other properties in Palmetto Dunes have. It also can help keep toddlers from wandering off, and most wildlife from wandering in. The 3 closable gates on the deck can also help keep young children from being in the pool area when you don't want them there.

We also think the bedroom separation from the living area, along with the solid doors, help keep the bedrooms quiet for young children when it's their bedtime and not yours. Having two separate HVAC systems with their own thermostats at each end of the house lets people who need cooler or warmer settings find their comfort zone.
