We wanted to get away for our anniversary and this was perfect! Jason and Lisa are excellent hosts, the cabin was cute as a button, the tour was fun, and we were able to relax and just have fun. The property is wonderful and has lots to offer for various forms of relaxation. The dogs are very friendly and love attention.

Beautiful property! The cabin was cozy and very clean but we really enjoyed exploring the property and stargazing. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We loved the place!!
Great communication and totally beyond wonderful hospitality- their steaks are awesome! We can’t wait to return. This is a working ranch with various friendly animals, come and enjoy nature - the stars and simple life at its best.
I recently took my daughter on a mother-daughter trip to the ranch, and it was an unforgettable experience. Jason and Lisa, the owners and hosts, truly went above and beyond. They’re not only fantastic at creating a welcoming environment but also have a gift for teaching life lessons through hands-on experiences on the ranch.
From the moment we arrived, Jason and Lisa made us feel like family. I have visited the ranch before, but my daughter had not. They took the time to get to know her and have deep conversations.
Crosswind Ranch is the ideal setting for bonding. The peaceful surroundings, comfortable accommodations, and Jason and Lisa’s genuine care make it feel like a home away from home. We left feeling inspired, closer, and with memories we’ll have forever. Highly recommend! I've already scheduled my third trip back.
This is a working cattle operation in a little visited part of central Texas. The owners are friendly and accommodating and have built a really pleasant cabin with a fresh wood smell in the interior. It's quiet and within easy reach of town.
Our stay at Crosswind Ranch in Comanche, Texas was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, Jason and Lisa, the owners, welcomed us with the warmest hospitality, embodying the true kindness you expect from Texans. They made my son and me feel like family from the start.
For my 11-year-old, this weekend was truly life-changing. He learned how to call in the cattle, tag baby calves, drive an ATV, start a campfire, shoot a gun, and gained countless other skills that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. The life lessons my son learned from Jason and Lisa are ones that no classroom could ever provide.
We also enjoyed exploring the nearby Comanche town square, where we tried delicious wine at J.W. Hardin Wine Co. and had a blast doing karaoke at the Stone Eagle Beer Garden on Saturday night.
I've already planned a return trip with my daughter and can't wait to come back. If you're looking for a unique, enriching, and welcoming experience, you will not regret staying at Crosswind Ranch. Highly recommended!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, communication
Would not recommend this place. I never received any communication from them. The GPS does not take you to their property, which wouldn’t be an issue except their property is not labeled in any form or fashion; no signs/address/mailbox. On a whim I took a guess to go down the unmarked road where I was greeted by three cows blocking the way and a GSD. I got down to the end, there’s junk everywhere, no one seems to be around. Check-in was 4, it’s now around 5:30. After driving all day, in the rain, it was a bit frustrating. Then there’s the cabins…it looks sketch. My friend and I were in town for an horse event and this was all too much run down and not as advertised for 2 women to stay. We felt unsafe- like unsolved mysteries unsafe. After 3 HOURS of dealing with VRBO to get a refund, they were finally able to reach them. Then they and VRBO blew my phone up with calls/texts while I’m trying to sleep…because I was in town for a PURPOSE. The husband wants to give THREATS over getting a refund with #VRBO because their feelings are hurt because I don’t like their place and didn’t feel safe out there.
THEN the icing on the cake, coming at me when Saturday AM, because I don’t have time to “talk it out,” because I was in town for a paid event with my horse. I slept in my truck and my friend her trailer at the event grounds because there weren’t any rooms anywhere that night.
What an amazing and peaceful stay! Jason was awesome with showing us around his property and feeding his cattle. The cabin was comfortable and clean with all that you need. It was nice to get to get away from the fast city. Highly recommend this property!
The house was as advertised, small and cozy. Great shower, good use of space. My only complaint is I would have preferred a regular bed vs. bunk bed (but I know it helps with allowing a family to stay there together)
Host was so nice! She was very sweet to meet us and drive us out to the property.
Just 2.5 hours drive from DFW, real farm life was there. Great gets away from busy city life.
We love all of experience we had. We want to go back soon.

It is a nice quiet get away. It is a true working ranch. The owner will take you to feed cows and tell you about the cows and what he want to achieve.
