The newly-renovated two-bedroom apartment is seconds away from Stroud's Run State Park, and a short scenic drive from Athens. A trailhead to the Thunderbunny Trail at Strouds is nearby, and maps are available within the apartment. This is a stargazer’s dream with zero light pollution! Coffee is provided, and local eggs and bread are available upon request.
The large, inviting living room is a comfortable space that opens into a fully furnished kitchen that is great for small gatherings and also children. Childproof oven knobs and cabinet locks are available, and a majority of electrical outlets are childproof. The first bedroom has a soft, plush king bed and small writing desk. Wifi is available. The second bedroom is suited for kids or adults, and includes a twin-over-full bunk bed, books and toys for children.
Please note that the property is a work in progress and we may be working around the property, but we won't access your Airbnb. You may hear some noises in the apartment above.
Lyft and Instacart are available. Parking is free.

We are a busy family of four with two kids, ages 6 and 3. My husband is a math instructor and I'm a grant writer, and we love being outdoors. On the weekends during the warmer months, it's common to see us on the property making a bonfire and roasting marshmallows with our kids and occasionally the neighbor kids too.
We bought this 14 acre farm in 2019, and it's slowly being transformed into a place we can call home where we can entertain our family and friends. We love Southeast Ohio because of the scenery, hiking and outdoor recreation, and especially Athens because of all the amazing local food available here. We hope you enjoy your stay, and I'm happy to make local recommendations to suit your needs!

This property is the perfect distance outside of Athens - enough to stargaze without light pollution but close enough that a Lyft or cab ride home is available, along with high-speed internet. Athens is such a fun place to be! There is so much to do here every weekend thanks to all the wonderful kind-hearted neighbors who call Athens County home. It's also home to Ohio University, and our property is located next to the biggest state park just outside Athens.

Hike to the lake or playground at the campground, or drive there in less than a minute. Run or bike around the lake. Take the trails all the way to Athens and back - the sky is the limit! There are miles and miles of hiking and biking trails to choose from. After a long day of outdoor recreation, or visiting with your OU student after a night Uptown, relax in a comfortable apartment space to call your own.
Also, the apartment is child friendly! We know what it's like traveling with kids, so we try to make it easier on parents by supplying the things you need to make your family trip a success. We have childproof electric outlets, child locks, and oven knob covers. =)
