Location! Minutes from Elk Rapids, the whole group will enjoy this spacious cottage right on Elk Lake, sandy bottom beach, and large yard. Amazing views of the lake from the open floor plan. Overlooking the private space through the wall of oversized sliders. 1000 sq. foot deck with plenty of lounging and dining areas. Four bedrooms and full walkout basement with plenty of toys! We are currently upgrading furniture.

Trevor was wonderful at communicating and the beachfront was fantastic! It was very clean but may be a bit to close to the road especially with younger children Overall we enjoyed our stay and Trevor was a great host

Great Place!

We loved staying at this house. It had plenty of room for 8 of us and loved everything it had to offer. The location was great. Close to so many things. They had kayaks and paddle boards for us to use and a great back yard to have fires every night and enjoy the amazing view of the lake. Thank you for an amazing week. We will be back!

Fabulous Family Lake Vacation

My mom/sisters/I rented this home for a week of fun with our kids ranging from 16 months to 16 years - and we had a blast! The yard, lake access, and deck were perfect! We didn't spend much time indoors but the beds were comfy and we were able to make nice meals and watch some Olympics. We also rented a pontoon boat and a lily pad which made spending time on Elk Lake even better.

Outstanding venue for large family lake vacation!

Loon cottage is the perfect location for a large group wanting a lake getaway. The large beautiful yard is perfect for games and bonfires. It's located on a great area of the lake that is also very convenient to Elk Rapids and Traverse City. The inside of the cottage is setup to be very comfortable and has a game room on the lower level. The host was incredibly responsive. Our group had a perfect vacation here and we highly recommend it.

Perfect family getaway!

We were thrilled with the indoor and outdoor spaces with this property. As reviews stated there is some road noise being near a busier road, but the amenities and the view make it barely noticeable. We enjoyed sipping wine on the outdoor deck, overlooking the lake, as well as roasting s’mores around the large and tidy fire pit. We had one full day of rain but had plenty to entertain both the adults and kiddos. Excellent host communication. Will stay here again!

Michigan family reunion

The view and property out to the lake was superb. Swimming off the property was a bit challenging for our older family members. The cottage offered plenty of sleeping capacity. Much of the cottage interior was rather "tired"...could use some sprucing up. Otherwise it was functional for our purposes.

Elk Lake - 2023

I wanted to leave a negative review so fewer people would come stay here, (then we could have the place to ourselves) but we had such an amazing time, I can’t do it. Trevor responded quickly to all my questions and the place was very clean, well stocked and better than other VRBO places we have stayed. Already booked for next year!!

Best back yard

The back of the house is the main attraction for this property. They have beautiful view, well maintained deck and yard. Lots of toys and games. Multiple kayaks and a SUP. Life jackets provided as well.

Would stay here again!

Stayed here for a weekend trip with 11 of my close girl friends. The house had more than enough seating and beds for all of us. The house was clean, private, in a great location (reasonably close to Traverse City) and overall well furnished for a large group. We were a big fan of the view of the lake from the deck along with the abundance of comfortable seating outside. The house was ready a few hours prior to our scheduled check-in time and the host communicated effectively. The house instructions were clear and the host didn't ask much of us prior to check-out. Overall, would definitely recommend this property to groups of 13 or less.

Family Christmas

We spent 3 days at the house right after Christmas. The beautiful deck was shoveled when we arrived, but way too cold to be outside much. The basement game room is not heated but we found once we got playing & moving around, we warmed up just fine. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the house.

Great Place, Great View!

The house was all clean and ready to go on our arrival. The view was excellent, we had a bottle of wine waiting for us, and firewood prepped by the pit. Communication was easy and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Perfect location and this house was exactly what my friends I needed for a weekend getaway. The property manager was excellent with responding when we needed anything and was always helpful with locations to see in elk rapids during our stay. We would stay here again!

This home is right on crystal blue water with spectacular views and many indoor and outdoor recreation amenities to balance relaxation and fun! Perfect location to enjoy a personal beach and campfire after the fun of Traverse City. Very short ride to Torch Lake. Owners are highly responsive and accommodating. Just what our families needed to unwind and rejuvenate.

The perfect up north location

This cottage was perfect for my family get together in northern Michigan. It’s only 25 minutes from the Traverse city airport and has plenty of beds, chairs, and kayaks for guests! The deck was a great spot to hang out in an open, comfortable space. It was also helpful to contain all of the kids we had with us. We loved the location and the lake. Elk lake is such a beautiful, clean lake to explore!

Awesome Views!!

The pictures do not do this place justice, as you cannot imagine the incredible location and views of this home! Trevor and his wife were very accommodating for us, as we needed to get in a bit early, and they let us freshen up before the check in time. There were plenty of water toys, the fire pit was awesome at night, and the house had everything that we needed to stay for a week, as described. Also, we had access to the lake, golfing, and Elk Rapids shopping and dining. We will definitely stay again!
