Kent’s most famous landmark is the earthworks construction of Bauhaus artist Herbert Bayer. Built in 1982 and located in Mill Creek Canyon public park, the earthworks combine public park, stormwater-dam, and Modernist masterpiece. Across the street, you can explore some of Kent’s local history at Kent Historical Society Museum at Emil W. Bereiter House, itself a designated county landmark. A busy summer season in Kent
During the summer months, Kent’s Town Square Plaza is transformed into an open-air farmers’ market. Kent enjoys the best of the summer weather between June and September – these warm, dry months are perfect for exploring the regional parks, sailing on the Sound, or getting out in Kent’s great green public parks and riverside trails. The city’s annual Cornucopia Days festival in July brings delicious food, music, arts, and games to the city.
