Pleasant and Peaceful

The property is perfect for a quiet stay near Montauk State Park. Fly fishing access is less than 5 minutes away. And it is so quiet and peaceful on the property. A perfect spot to enjoy the fall weather and some trout fishing.

Comfortable Cabin Setup

Overall between a 4 to 5 star rating on our first stay! A location marker or sign would be helpful in first finding the driveway and gate. Inside of the cabin was nice and very comfortable. Beds and pillows were great! Pond has too much vegetation to fish and trails were lackluster but we truly enjoyed spending time in and around the cabin. Well stocked with basic items and location is great! We plan on coming back again when we visit the area again!

Best little secret in Dent county

If you love Montauk but don’t like the traffic or the prices at the state park, this is your place. Five minutes from fly fishing at Current River, zero hassle. This place was a 10. If the back porch was screened it’d be a 12. Way under the price of lodging at the park. Heard and saw a flock of wild turkeys and several deer, then several luna moths joined me on the deck. Cabin is clean and bed very comfortable. Kitchen was generously stocked and supplied. Host was immediately responsive to the minor issues we had and during the tornadic storms. Could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. Bring tick repellent. It’s a bad year for them. This place should be booked every night.

Clean and Comfortable

Another nice stay in the cabin. Cabin is not fancy, but oh so clean and comfortable. I love staying here. I love sitting on the large, covered porch admiring the scenery. And, of course, Montauk trout fishing is less than 5 minutes away.

Great location to fish at Montauk! Make sure to spray down if walking to private pond, had a lot of chigger bites after 1st time to the pond.

Comfortable

Our third stay here and always comfortable no matter the season. The temperature was over 90 degrees each day, but we were always cool and comfortable. The fishing at Montauk, as always, was good. The cabin's proximity just minutes from fishing is awesome.

It was nice and clean. The hot water heater has been shut off but with just a couple of email communications I turned it back on - the owner was so helpful and nice. The kitchen was well supplied with various pots pans baking dishes and even some nonperishable food items that are easily forgotten when you pack for a trip. The outside had motion detector lights that lit the way from car to the the door at night. It was in a private location but I felt very safe.

Montauk Private Cabin

Cabin was clean and comfortable. Owners were very accessible for questions. Proximity to Montauk State Park is convenient for fishing and dining at lodge. Even closer to fly fishing area (Spring) via county road. Bottom line: this cabin provides all the necessities for a comfortable stay near Montauk for the entire family. I plan to come back.

Fishing

Although we did not have much fishing we enjoyed our stay. We have stayed at other nearby cabins but this was one worked out much better. It was close to the park, very clean, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing time.

Great cabin and location

This was a very last minute trip so I was very pleasantly surprised to find this cabin. Everything was clean and tidy. Porch was nice to sit on and walked trail to pond. The hosts even left granola bars and instant oatmeal for their guests. I was worried about only one window air conditioning in heat of summer but it cooled cabin well. Bathroom is small but the host said that in their description. It worked fine for my 3 adult sons and myself. One suggestion is to have more kitchen towels to dry dishes (I only found 1). Would definitely rent again.
