Private decks accompany 2nd level, vaulted ceiling bedrooms, and share an elegant, central bathroom. A large gourmet kitchen overlooks an open dining and living area, and is kept comfortable by central AC. Exotic hardwoods, tiled floors, and granite countertops, make for a worry free and beautiful setting. Puff House is located within town center just 200 foot from the spectacular mile long, white sand beach; as swimmable as you can find in the Bahamas. Puff House is a 90 second walk to the central Post Office dock which accommodates 12-14 16'-25' runabouts on a first come first served basis, and is adjacent the Public Golf Cart parking area.

Having lived in HT previously it was important that I stayed somewhere in town which helped me choose this property as we wanted to be able to come and go with ease. We loved Puff House and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in HT. The internet did run out, but Caroline was quick to act and got it topped back up as some of us were still working while here. The generator hadn't automatically come on either, so Caroline had that dealt with very quickly. Thanks so much to Caroline for all of her help :)
The Puff House was perfect for our week vacation! Quick walk from the post office dock and golf cart parking. Walking distance to Captain Jacks. My niece had her wedding at the marina inn and their shuttle across the bay was very handy. John was a great host and the house was great. Loved sitting on the wraparound porch and watching everyone walk by. The island was beautiful definitely want to come back!
We loved Puff House! Our host was so helpful; he even met our ferry at the dock. He’s a great guy and easy to find if you need anything. The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. We had the beach a minute away on one side and the dock a minute away on the other side. The beach is gorgeous and empty. We rented a boat for the week and kept it at the dock next to the house. It’s an easy little walk to Capn Jack’s, Munchies and Vernon’s. And cute souvenir stores. We liked being in the settlement, in a house that has some charm. It’s a really comfortable place and has the Hope Town vibe. We would recommend it to anyone.
You can’t beat the location - only a very short walk to the beach, the public dock and the shops. John was nearby and was responsive to requests and turned on the generator when needed. House is rather dark- could use some reading lamps and brighter bulbs. For cooks the kitchen lacks some essential utensils. Otherwise a great place and we would recommend it.
I was pleasantly surprised that Puff House was as close to the beach and the bay as it was. Though John conveys that in his description I somehow did not understand that Puff House is literally separated from the beach only by Windward house, where John sometimes lives and that he also rents out. It is maybe a minute and a half walk to get to the beach. Also, Puff House is maybe a two and half minute walk from the ferry dock where the ferry to Marsh Harbour comes and goes, and where you can be picked up by the Hopetown Inn Marina ferry, to be taken over to the lighthouse or to the Marina for dinner or a different meal.
Hopetown is idyllic in many ways. A slowed pace, very friendly people, quiet, and more so in November than the busier months though I am told it is still quiet there relative to where I live in Denver all year-round. A plus plus plus rating.
Also, John is a great host, aiming to make anyone's stay comfortable and easy.
Great location interior needs help. Furniture filthy and rusted out pull out couches. Windows do not close seem to slide down, glass doors do not lock. I had to purchase a mop to clean the floors. The owner was very nice and promptly had the place cleaned after I emailed him. Both Bedroom TV broken, kitchen missing cabinet door and I repaired the cabinet after nearly falling on my head. The location was perfect. There is no futon as described online and sofa beds inoperable.
Great location right in the center of town next to the Post Office Dock with nearby access to the beach. House has a generator that came in handy quite a few times during our visit. Some small issues with AC when we checked in, but owner was very quick to respond. Would book again!

About the host
Hosted by John Arndt
I've been coming to this island for almost 30 years. I found Hope Town while sailing and immediately fell in love. Over the next 10 years my family and I returned to Hope Town regularly, enjoying the picturesque setting and warm and welcoming community. In 2004 we committed to the island and purchased property. After that, Hope Town became a yearly adventure.
Why they chose this property

The Post Office Dock is both the public boat dock and the location of golf cart parking for the settlement. Recently built, Puff House is insulated with central AC and outfitted with Hurricane glass, having withstood the recent Hurricane Dorian.
