Chocolate Moose is an INCREDIBLE custom-built one-bedroom, one-bath & loft game room super-cozy log cabin ideally located between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, just 2 miles off the main road.

Chocolate Moose is located midway between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, nestled in the mountains & only 2 miles off the main road that runs between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg making the cabin so convenient to all the attractions of this Smoky Mountains area.

This wonderful cabin is tucked back in the woods on a quiet dead-end road and off of another dead-end road. It offers plenty of privacy and relaxation, with no thru-traffic, making it the perfect place for safe dog walking. There are only three other cabins on this road, which allows a sense of security that you are not alone in the woods. The deck is gated for your pets' and kids' safety.

The living room has a 48" TV with a DVD player to enjoy in front of the cozy stone fireplace with remote-operated logs that can be used year-round with heat or romantic ambiance. The moose—and bear-themed couch converts into a queen bed for extra guests to sleep and a matching rocking chair. There is a huge movie library and a ceiling fan.

The kitchen has plenty of counter & cabinet space, cookware & dishes that you will need for stay-in-the-cabin meals. There is a range, microwave, dishwasher & refrigerator with ice maker, blender, toaster, electric waffle maker, slow cooker, George Forman grill, Keurig & regular coffee maker & more. The dining table seats 4.

The main-level master bedroom has the most comfortable king canopy bed, TV w/DVD/CD player & ceiling fan. At the end of the bedroom is a jetted tub. The Jack n Jill bath with tub & shower combination gives privacy to the bedroom & other parts of the cabin.

The loft area has a full bed, pool table, electronic dartboard, TV, toys, and a ceiling fan. There is also a full-size washer and dryer in the loft closets.

This awesome cabin enables every family member to have their personal space & each family member to choose their entertainment. Kids will love having their own private space from the grown-ups.

Both decks are covered to be enjoyed in any kind of weather. The side deck has a relaxing year-round hot tub, table & 4 chairs & rocker. The front deck has a large porch swing for taking naps & large rocking chairs & is gated to keep kids & pets safe so you can have peace of mind knowing that they can't wander off & go bear-hunting while you are relaxing. There is a park-style charcoal grill in the front yard.

There is plenty of privacy on the private wooded lot that has a paved driveway for 2 vehicles.

Come & enjoy the fun or a romantic getaway in this truly unique, custom-built mountain cabin that is perfect for singles, a couple, honeymooners, or a small family that will comfortably sleep up to 4 people. This is the ULTIMATE in luxury & style. You will not be disappointed with this UNFORGETTABLE FUN & ROMANTIC MOOSEY GETAWAY.

Last Place I would EVER stay.
Property not as described; photos are misleading. Owner became irate and canceled rental. Reason given for cancelation. Conflict with house rules. Not sure what rule was broken. Now owner/host refuses to refund money and is threatening to put me jail, because I respectful requested my refund. I am now blocked from her phone and on VRBO. Even though I have it in writing that she would refund my money. Now I'm left with having to contact a lawyer.

Cabin Style
Okay, here we go. It is a mountain cabin. If you are prissy butch get a hotel in town. It’s totally a matter of preference and your personality. It’s actually a good adventure. For me it was awesome. The only thing I would suggest is to recap the pool sticks and fix with the darts (super cheap). But I only say that because my autistic son found a new love for the pool table and I thought maybe he would like the darts too. Obviously though most the time is spent outdoors and going to Dollywood (best food ever) and downtown Gatlinburg. Thanks Geri, I had a good stay. I would book your cabin again and I like your spunk..

The cabin was very nice and secluded. We enjoyed being able to relax and shut off the world. Everything was in order and nice. Make sure you bring your own toilet paper cause only the remaining roll on the holder was provided.

Great cabin in the woods
Very relaxing stay, close to all the attractions, about a 15 drive to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg! Loved the swing on the front porch and the big king size bed! Definitely need a four-wheel drive as it is in the mountains. Our jeep did a great job! Would definitely recommend!

Cozy cabin
This cabin is conveniently located with an easy drive to the attractions in pigeon forge as well as Gatlinburg. The cabin itself is on a steep hill (which was to be expected). We enjoyed the fun moose themed decor. The kitchen was stocked with all essentials. The king size bed was very comfortable. The living room furniture and dining chairs were not super comfortable

We stayed for 6 days great vacation property is as advertised beautiful area. The listing does state need a car and i would not recommend riding a motorcycle unless its a smaller one I had trounle with my 900 lb touring bike as roads are narrow and steep. Not the owners or cabins fault just a suggestion its a beautiful place and I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed everything about this cabin
Overall great place to stay. The loft was great for my son. The main bedroom was everything I needed. We don’t require much when it’s just me and my son on trips with our dog. Everything worked as intended. We have zero complaints. Host was quick and to the point with all our messages. All info we needed was communicated in a timely manner. I’d recommend this host and cabin for the future.

Great potential, but NOT clean
Everything about the Chocolate Moose was great, except for cleanliness. It is possible that the property owner is unaware of lapses by the cleaning crew. When we first arrived, there was an overpowering smell of gas station disinfectant, which subsided overnight. However, in spite of the place smelling as if it had been cleaned, it was....ewwww. There were area & throw rugs with clumped hair, dried crusting in the coffee maker, thick dust and cobwebs on decor, dead beetles in the dresser drawer, and staining on the bedding. Maintenance was also an issue, although a sign on the fridge made it clear that input regarding these issues was unwelcome. ("...I'm sure your house isn't perfect either..."). Missing/broken knobs to open drawers, deteriorating cover to hot tub that was so waterlogged that it was nearly impossible to remove or put back in place. (Although the hot tub itself was immaculate!) Again, this place has SO much potential and would be 5-star with a good deep cleaning that is then maintained after each guest. Having owned a VRBO in the past, I know how hard it can be to keep up with little things breaking, as "stuff happens" when you host guests, but it seems that most hosts would want to know if something was broken so that they could address it, rather than stating that they didn't want to be bothered with these details. Property itself is great...a small part of the property management team may be the problem.

We found the perfect place for seclusion, yet within 15 minutes we could be in either Gatlinburg, or Pigeon Forge. We really enjoyed ambience of the mountains and the cabin was just perfect. Its just like the photos, but yet they dont even do it justice. We would stay here again without even thinking twice! Make no mistake, this is treasure of a cabin for a family, or a couple like us.

Great location
We had a very nice time. Dealing with Geri the rental agent was great and she was very helpful. The cabin was in a nice location just between both Pegion Forge and Gatlinburg. I liked the cabin, but the decor on the walls was a little much. The cabin really needs a deep cleaning. There was a lot of cobwebs. There was mold and funk in the Keurig (did not use) there was a used coffee filter in the coffee pot with mold on it. Washed this ourselves. I really think a deep cleaning would make this cabin perfect for the next visitors. Photos of the property are spot on.

The furniture could use an update. The need is like a rock. Other than that it was a great cabin. The back porch you could get in the hot tub and just watch nature in private. It is pretty secluded for the most part. We enjoyed our short stay.

It was a perfect little get away, the cabin was perfect for us. We have stayed at several of GeriMcBride's properties and have always enjoyed our little get away. Cabin in the woods
Everything you need. Hot tub was fabulous. Allowing dogs more than 25# is a huge bonus since we have a Labrador. Having washer and dryer is a wonderful bonus. Plenty of sitting areas on front and back porch. As described—up steep hills. Do not recommend this property for anyone handicapped or knee issues as there are quite a few steps to enter property. If you have bad allergies or asthma I do not recommend. Kitchen, bathroom, linens and hot tub clean. Lots of dust on dressers, bed rails etc (could write in the dust), very musty (even for a cabin as we have stayed in a lot of VRBO homes, condos and cabins and this was definitely the most dusty and musty). Stuffed animals everywhere and they were layered in dust. Couch and chair being fabric were quite odorous as well. We put blankets down to sit on indoor furniture and washed a couple times we were there and changed them out as they absorbed the odor. Almost all our clothes are going to have to be rewashed at home and the smell really stuck. Other than the lack of cleanliness we would stay here again—would just keep clothes in vehicle to help with smells.

About the host

As a child, I can remember all the good times that we had when my Daddy would take us to the Smoky Mountains every year. I always had the dream that one day I would love to own a log cabin there and I would make it a 'very special warm & cozy home-away-from-home' and that is what I have done with the Chocolate Moose.

I have always loved animals & they have always been a big part of my life, so I also wanted to make a special place that guests could come with their favorite furry doggy friends like I do when I go there. My favorite traveling buddies, Dusty & Bruiser love going to our special 'home-away-from-home often & hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Before buying this cabin, I searched & searched for the perfect location & one w/ a yard, driveway & close to the main 'drag' (Hwy 441) aka Parkway. So many that I viewed had only a small parking space, just barely large enough to get a car off the road & many were located way far out, in difficult locations, or too far from all the fun & activities.

I was looking for a cabin that was convenient to both Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. The Chocolate Moose is located right between Pigeon Forge & Gburg, only 2 miles off the main 'drag' (Hwy 441) aka Parkway.

It is on a short dead-end road with 3 other cabins & off of another dead-end road where there is no thru traffic, a great place to walk dogs. It is tucked away in the woods & offers so much privacy.

It was exactly what I was looking for & with a name like 'CHOCOLATE MOOSE' how could I not fall in love. This was my first cabin purchase. I have decorated it over the past years with moose, moose & more moose & I think that it is just simply the 'cutest and coziest cabin' in the Smokys.

I know you will love Chocolate Moose & make many wonderful memories & will not soon forget it after your visit. Since Chocolate Moose, I realized that this is my passion & have purchased other properties, see them all below:

With all the extras, coziness, luxuries & super cute moose decor, I KNOW YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED & you will love the Chocolate Moose as much as Dusty, Bruiser, and I do.
