The house was perfect for us. Plenty of room. Location made it easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. Property manager was very helpful. We would stay there again.
Zesty
It came as advertised…an “historic”cottage. Nice, clean, comfy beds, and a great location but if you are looking for all the new bells and whistles you won’t find them here.
You can walk to town but really need a car to get to the beaches. Visit during the season if you want a variety of places to eat and drink. Off season dining was quite limited to one or two restaurants the best of which were located in nearby hotels. I suggest the French Leave or the Potlatch Club. Our host, Cedric, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. If I was looking for this type of accommodation in the future would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic, historic property in the heart of Governor's Harbour!
My family has visited Eleuthera many times and have stayed in a few different cottages comprising Squire's Estate, so we were familiar with the location and general 'feel' of the property. The Stone Cottage was just right for my wife and me, plus our young adult daughter. The Squire's Estate homes are very old (historic) but very well maintained and updated with modern conveniences, including air conditioning.
They are well-appointed and outfitted with eclectic design elements, which are fun and inventive. Make sure to try the fresh mangoes from the tree beside the house (unexpected bonus!). Our host, Patrick, was very pleasant and quick to respond during the few communications we had during our visit.
Absolutely loved staying here. You have to have a car if you want to go to beaches and explore, but you can walk to town or a couple of restaurants. Amazing place I can't wait to go back.
Excellent property with great hosts! Joy and Dominic were great hosts guiding us to great experiences during our visit. The property is centered on the island and in governor’s harbor - close access to great beaches and awesome restaurants. We drove both north and south for out of town day excursions and otherwise hung out close in. The pool at the property is very nice for sun and swim if you just want to stay home. Saying home is a great option, and cooking in was easy. Highly recommended!!
