What a privilege and honor to stay in such an amazing, historic home. Excuse me ..manor. Everything was perfect for me and my big family! There was eight of us, and it suites us beautifully! Alex is a thoughtful host, with many extra amenities! The beds were comfy, the dining room stunning..and the kitchen is huge, which made it easy to create wonderful memories!
Spacious, historical home with wonderful decor. It was just what we needed after spending time in the city visiting family.
The only drawback for us (70 year olds) was all the stairs.
Nice .25 mile driveway to walk down and back a few times for some exercise.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful old Manor house before and after my daughter‘s wedding. The rooms were great. The dinning room was breathtaking. We especially loved the kitchen area. Alex, the owner was very helpful and greeted us when we arrived.
Not only were we provided the comfort and necessities you get from home, we also got to enjoy the aesthetics of a charming house. The house set in a rural area also offered welcoming peaceful silence after a full day of activities. Truly a home away from home.
The property is beautiful and the house is fantastic. The Rich historical history about the property and house was icing on the cake. It’s such a blessing that the owners open this property for people to experience. Alex was a perfect host and provided everything we could possibly need for a memorable, pleasant stay at the manor.
Our family had Christmas at Lansdowne Manor, a beautiful home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The Manor made us feel like royalty. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Our group ranged in age from 5 to 88.
Although there is a formal dining room, the kitchen and the living room were where we usually gathered. Upstairs had several bedrooms that could accommodate differing sets of guests. The beds were extraordinarily comfortable. The libraries at the Manor are extensive and engaging. The graceful central staircase could be handled by all easily.
We simply loved our visit. We look forward to another stay at the Manor in the future. Alex, the manager, was always available and most accommodating.
Where do I begin!! We planned to come visit our family for Thanksgiving this year, and decided on getting a home more of us could stay together in. It also gave me the opportunity to finally host my family for Thanksgiving since we live in Texas. Boy did we hit the jackpot!! The owner, Alex couldn’t have been more helpful and inviting!! The historical charm of this home was impeccable. Alex did a phenomenal job leaving each room beautifully decorated, and made you stop in your tracks to dive into a piece of history.
The accommodations we unmatched. Each room had a generous amount of towels, shampoo, conditioner, and all paper products. That’s not something you’d usually find in a vacation rental. For the age of this home, it had the freshest smell throughout. The beds were super comfortable. The kitchen will steal you for hours of cooking, and just visiting with your party at the handmade wooden table. It had the best feeling that I don’t have the words for. My entire family still talks about our stay. It was such a joy to finally spend thanksgiving with my family, and have such a spacious place to do so. This home exceeded our expectations.
There’s plenty of convenient grocery stores and restaurants near by. Don’t miss out booking here. Your host, Alex will make sure no stone is left unturned.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Alex's place. This is an old house and as such has its share of quirks. Overall it was a beautiful and restful weekend. The house is secluded enough to feel private but within 1/2 hour of many amenities like shopping and restaurants. There were only 4 of us which gave us lots of room. The house can handle larger groups - especially in the big, country kitchen. We enjoyed morning walks down the long driveway and relaxing in the large living room.
