We love this property. Homey, clean, peaceful and full of hidden gems for the kids (board games, kids kayaks, etc). Heather is a wonderful host. The community is lovely and helpful. Can’t beat the sandy beach and distant views of the green mountains across the lake.
Heather’s property is a bit of heaven-perfect for lake activities or relaxing on the porches enjoying the view. She is a gracious host and offered plenty of sightseeing and food recommendations. The cottage, town, and community in Keeseville is special and we will definitely be back. Thank you!!
Totally agree with Aubryn’s reviews! This house was perfect for our family - 6 adults and 2 children (5 and 1). There was a space for everything — coffee on the screened in porch overlooking the lake, yoga on the beach, paddle boarding, reading on the upper porch, quiet time watching a movie, and lots of fishing. The driveway easily accommodated 3 cars and a boat. The public launch is right next door so it was easy access each day.
We enjoyed eggs and coffee from the farm stand down the road, grass-fed meat from the butcher close by, and we did a grocery pick up from Hanniford in Plattsburgh (only 20 minutes away).
Heather was so easy to communicate with and let us know about food trucks and live music at a nearby brewery and winery. We had delicious BBQ from Dubb’s food truck at the Ausable Brewery and enjoyed listening to the band.
We also spent a few hours hiking at Ausable Chasm which is just up the road.
The house is very well appointed - providing for everything you might need during your stay. Air conditioning, ceiling fans, and portable fans made it very comfortable for sleeping and lots of blankets made it cozy for early mornings on the porch.
We enjoyed our stay and look forward to another family vacation on Lake Champlain!
We adore this property. It’s beautifully maintained and great for our kids (ages 3, 7 and 9). We love waking up and having long mornings on the two screened in porches and listening to the waves lap on the lake. Heather is a phenomenal host answered every question and went above and beyond to make our stay special.
Serene and Perfect for Quiet Family-friendly getaway
This is a beautiful and pristine property on the shores of lake champlain. Traveled with my mom and step-dad, my husband and three young children (ages 8, 6 and 2). The property was comfortably accommodated all of us, was cozy, and a lovely place for the kids to be indoors and outdoors. Swingsets and hammock on site. The hosts were gracious and went and above and beyond to help us feel comfortable--even stocked fired pits with wood and kindling. There were kid-sized kayaks, and paddle boards ready for us on the beach. The beach had some seaweed (so bring water shoes!) but was sandy-bottomed and super shallow for a way out which was great for our little people and non-swimmers. Right next door to a public beach with swings, and deeper waters. Spacious screened porches made for lovely slow mornings waking up while looking at the green mountain range across the lake. It's a drive to most activities (and restaurants), but we enjoyed ausable river rafting (5 min), plattsburgh beach and state park (30 min), fairy via essex to burlington and the science center (1.5 hrs incl ferry + drive) and climbing mount poke-o-moonshine. Lovely extra touches like, music playing as we arrived, made our stay sublime. Thanks to the hosts for a lovely time. We'll definitely plan to return!
