Great location and space
This little cottage was the perfect amount of space for our family of 4 during a weeklong getaway. Love that there are 2 full bathrooms and thoroughly enjoyed the use of the beach chairs, toys and towels during our stay. Fantastic location close to the beach and restaurants/amenities of New Buffalo. Construction of new homes on two sides of the cottage during our stay was not ideal due to the noise but we still had a great experience and would not hesitate to stay again (those homes will be complete eventually!). Our dogs enjoyed the fully fenced yard, too.

cozy and quaint
I love Nancy and Barbara! They were so welcoming and kind to me. Nancy left me fresh flowers and a bottle of wine and Barbara brought me the most delicious Michigan peaches from the market. The cottage had two gorgeous big trees that allowed me to not use the A/C and have fresh air. Dog friendly home. I'll be back next summer. p.s. I felt terrible about burning and ruining one of their saucepans and Barbara told me not worry about it!! She was so gracious about it, I really felt the love.

Fabulous family vacation
We had a wonderful time in Union Pier-sad to say goodbye. Spending a week non beautiful Lake Michigan is magical. The beach was outstanding, house very comfortable, fenced in yard great for our dog. The boogie boards were the best! Was great to have all the beach toys. Hope to be back.

Fantastic find!
We had a wonderful week at this charming home. The lake access is just at the end of the block and the beach was beautiful. We loved the character of the cottage. It is a true lake cottage with all the little quirks of an older home, but it is also clean and bright and a was great place to stay with our granddaughter and our dogs. The yard is large, full of flowers, and there is always a shady spot where you can relax. We found a great playground with a splash pad just down the Red Arrow. The only suggestion I have is to add a step stool for the kiddos in the bathroom as the sink was hard to reach. It was a perfect location for us, and we'll surely be back!

Great Getaway Rustic Cottage.
Needed to find a quick getaway for my family and dog from the big city. Location to beach and local shops were a very short leisurely walk. The large expansive gated yard were perfect for the family to play yard games and for the dog to move about freely. We were able to relax in the rustic cottage and enjoy the week without any worries. Thanks Nancy!

Cozy Cottage
Staying in this cottage was great. It accommodated my family's needs and the beach is a short walk away. It was a bonus to take advantage of the spacious yard and gazebo. Nancy and Barb were very welcoming and got back to me quickly anytime I had a question. I even got to extend my stay which was my best decision this summer!

Another blissful beach stay
This was our second year on Nannene and everything was perfect! We love the location for it’s convenient access to the beach, daily coffee at the Whistle Stop, large yard perfect for lawn games, and quiet gazebo for late night reading. We do hope Lake Michigan recedes a bit again before next summer but we found plenty of places to relax, ride bikes, and shop~ all of our fantastic past times in Union Pier ,

Something for everyone- dogs too!
Expectations exceeded! We had a fantastic week at the Country Cottage! The owner could not have been more accommodating and no detail was overlooked in anticipating needs of guests. Cottage is spotless and furnished with comfortable sleeping, seating and lounging areas. Large fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. Short, easy walk to beach and beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, etc. are provided too! So great to be able to pack light! Thank you again Nancy for providing the perfect backdrop for our family’s vacation.

Fantastic on every levle!
We loved every minute and feature of our stay and this adorable well appointed cottage just an easy one block walk to the best beach in Union Pier. The owner provided every amenity anyone could possibly need from a hairdryer to a washer & dryer, from games to plastic dinnerware as well as plenty of china, silverware, cooking utensils, and a well appointed kitchen. We especially appreciated the comfortable gazebo on the beautiful lawn for those few rainy buggy evenings. The air conditioning was a treat on the hot nights and the two bathrooms were a great feature. We also enjoyed playing games at the big kitchen table and the fellows liked having tv’s to catch the soccer matches and baseball games. With convenient proximity to The Whistlestop and Red Arrow Roadhouse, we had coffee in the morning, snacks for the beach, and great dinners out so close we hardly had to get in a car. I highly recommend this perfect getaway cottage just 75 minutes from busy city living and made it a point to appreciate the gorgeous sunsets every night with a few beach bonfires mixed in. The area is bursting with options for fun from bike rides, to the best farmers market ever on weekends, art and antique shops to explore, dining for every budget, to long walks on the beach miles in both directions. The owners were prompt at responding to every contact, and most helpful.

A very welcoming home and near the beach!
We had a very nice week at the Country Cottage! It was perfect for our family and was well appointed with everything we needed. We especially loved the large yard with multiple seating areas and how close it was to the beach. The beach equipment provided such as chairs and toys makes packing easier. Most importantly, you can tell that the home is well cared for and very clean.

Family Vacation 7/15 - 7/22/17
Lovely home with a beautiful yard in a quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to beach. Enjoyed using the cottage's outside shower after an afternoon at the beach. Biked to New Buffalo along shady roads with little traffic to the farmers market and ice cream shop with grandchildren. Our family really enjoyed a relaxing vacation together with something for everyone.

Close to the beach, but...
The owners of the Country Cottage are lovely, warm people. That said, they really need to put some money into this house. It is not as nice or as well maintained as it appears in the listing. The bathrooms are moldy with leaky showers. The outdoor shower is essentially useless, since it has no drainage of any kind, and you wind up standing in several inches of dirty water as soon as you turn it on. The stove is so lopsided I literally had to keep one hand on the skillet to keep it from sliding off the eye. At least one window doesn't lock because the frame is so rotten. It's just across Red Arrow from a set of train tracks with a railroad crossing nearby, which means every time a train goes by, it blows its whistle and the whole house shakes. (This happens frequently, including during the night.) The house does have a nice big, shady yard, although that yard is shared with another house. And the proximity to the beach is hard to beat. We had a good time while we were there, but I wish I'd had a clearer sense of the property's limitations. We've definitely stayed in nicer places for less money.

Awesome Vacation
We had a great time at The Country Cottage! Very clean home with newer, tasteful furnishings. All the necessities and just a couple of blocks from a great, private association beach. Walking distance to great restaurants and The Whistle Stop! Owners were very friendly, attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great week!!!!

Very comfortable and convenient cottage for our family and dogs!
Location ideal - close to both beach and Whistle Stop Grocery and Red Arrow Roadhouse. Large fenced yard with both shade and sun with a variety of seating and a screen gazebo was ideal for hanging out for both people and our 2 dogs. Inside rooms were smaller as the cottage was built in the 30's but all were comfortable and furnished nicely. Kitchen appliances all were new or newer including the high efficiency washer dryer off the nice dining area with seating for 6. Owners very responsive and accommodating.

Lasting Summer Memories
Our family had a wonderful time staying at the cottage in Union Pier. The house is clean and has everything you need. We appreciate the nice little touches that provided a welcoming and awesome guest experience. i.e. local sightseeing information, a new kitchen sponge, the use of beach towels and umbrella, wagon and the yummy basket of muffins, etc. The property is large and we had a couple of BBQ dinners outside on the picnic bench. There is also a screened-in gazebo. Our dogs especially loved exploring the grounds and that it was fenced. The owners on the property are lovely and friendly. Thank you for your hospitality.

Union Pier vacation
We had a wonderful time at the Country Cottage in Union Pier. This property is very well equipped and was very comfortable for our family. (2 adults, 2 children, and one additional adult for 2 days) The owner is very accommodating and answered our questions via email and phone promptly. Our two young children and two old dogs had a great time and so did we. Thank you!
