Great property and location. Hosts were extremely responsive and proactive. The hosts informed us that there was a water leak and no hot water before we got there and told us it would be fixed by the time we arrived. We arrived as the plumbers were leaving, and everything was fixed! Our family loved the game room, especially the kids. Wifi was kind of spotty, but it did not diminish our stay. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a great rental in the Smokie Mountains.
We loved our stay at this cabin. Everything's about our stay was great. The owners go above and beyond to help in anyway. We will definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed the cabin so much our family had more than enough room and we especially loved the game room and fire pit. Perfect location and the ride is not to high up on the mountain which is a plus for us. Beds were insanely comfortable. Would recommend and would stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at Bear Necessities! The cabin was beautiful and tucked away in the hills. The location was wonderful, close to all the attractions and town while still being far enough away to take in all the mountainous views. We enjoyed listening to the bubbling creek from the back deck and the theater room. Highly recommend this stay and host!
We loved everything about this property. The kids loved the game room/theater room. We enjoyed it all, the location, the setting and the house. Would come back in a heartbeat!
Our group of 9 adults really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect. Close to all the entertainment, but far enough away to feel really secluded! There were many days and evenings we didn’t even make plans, we just hung out at the cabin and enjoyed all the entertainment it offered. Would definitely recommend this cabin for families of all ages!
It was a great place and really beautiful! It did take 30 mins up the mountain from town. The road up is curvy and sharp turns. It was a great house for our group. I do feel like there was an original listing when we booked with two queen bunk beds that said sleeps 16 but when we got there it was only one. We were glad we had two back out or it would have been tight! The game room is really fun! We didn’t watch any movies. I’d stay here again! The hosts are easy to reach and quick to respond! Beds are comfy!
Cabin was absolutely adorable! Clean, comfy beds. Amazing game room, theatre room and bonfire pit. Only complaint is wifi didn’t work in game or theatre room and the can opener was terrible. But they had a high chair and porta crib available which was great. We had a great time.
The cabin was exactly as advertised. Check in and check out was very easy. The cabin was very clean. The kids love the game room and the hot tub. Areas of improvement would be the grill is very poor and outdated, along with the remotes were difficult to figure out. But overall we loved our stay love the cabin would highly recommend.
Loved, loved, LOVED this place! I just can't say enough good things about it. It was absolutely perfect for our group of 13. Great location. CLEAN. Loved the decor and the little touches like the bear peeking through the window in the bathroom. Absolutely loved the location! Who wants to go to the mountains and be right on top of other cabins. Not me. The grounds were lush and beautiful with an amazing firepit area. Plenty of amenities from games (pool table, electronic full size games like Pac-Man, cards, etc. to pots and pans. Comfy beds and pillows. Great communication. Would definitely stay here again and can absolutely recommend this cabin without any reservations.
We loved staying at this house. It's so cute with all the bear and tree wood accents in and out of the house. It was big enough for all of us and the yard was beautiful. Our group really loved the game room. We spent a lot of time in there playing pool and video games. The theatre room was really nice too. Our only complaint would be that there is no storage to unpack your suitcases into if you stay in the lower level of the house. There needs to be some dressers or something so that you don't have to live out of your suitcase during your stay. That being said, I'd definitely stay in this house again and give it a 5 star rating.
There are no words to express how amazing this house was for our Mountain Vacation. Our children referred to it as their "Mountain House" (and still are asking to go to the mountain house 2 months later). The location was great and close to all attractions but yet secluded enough to enjoy truly being in the mountains. The beds were super comfy and plenty of space for all of us to sleep (4 adults and 5 children - toddlers to teens). The property was simply amazing and the attention to details and the BEARS was hands down one of the best features!! The kids loved the game and movie room and the wrap around deck was perfect for early morning coffee. The roads to the house were an adventure and loved driving them. We even got a peak at a real live bear cub early on in our stay !!! Looking forward to staying here again on our return to Tennessee!!
This was the perfect getaway for our family from Idaho to experience, Tennessee! The cabin was close to Pigeon Forge as well as Gatlinburg-Less than a 20 minute drive.
Our family was over the top thrilled with all of the amenities! The cabin had a fantastic game room, theater room, and the fire pit that was the evening gathering place for us. The pictures do not do justice for this place… We were all so comfortable and content!!
The layout of the cabin was perfect. We had seven in our family and each person had their own space. The kitchen has everything that you will need plus the decor is simply beautiful. We loved having breakfast together at the picnic style table before going out on our adventures for the day. Everyone loved the wrap around porch that provided different seating areas and views.
There was excellent communication with the owner who also provided different restaurants and things to do in the area, and it was truly appreciated as this was our first time visiting Tennessee !!
We would highly recommend this cabin for a family as it provides everything you will need to enjoy a beautiful stay in Tennessee.
Listen, this is an amazing house. We absolutely loved it and it had the sleeping arrangements we needed for our family. The arcade room was great for noisy kids, the theater room made movie nights super cool, and the home & decor were beautiful. Here' the problem- the upstairs bedroom had mold all over the ceiling. We first noticed mold problem in the washer. It was all through the detergent drawer, and on the jets, seal, & door. I sent a message and they had the cleaner there within 30 minutes to clean the washer. The couple staying in the upstairs bedroom was feeling sluggish and tired most of our stay. One of the last days we were there, we noticed all the mold on the upstairs bedroom ceiling. They are very allergic to mold, so that explains why they were feeling so drained all week. I sent a message and the lady said she would pass my message along to the owners. I haven't heard back. I feel it's necessary to let you know that the mold is growing in the wood ceiling, which is especially important for families with mold allergies and those who know the dangers of mold exposure. The second issue was that the downstairs bedroom didn't have a door at all. The person i had contact with said they had to take the door off due to a fire code issue. We didn't know this ahead of time, and we were expecting to have a bedroom with a door. This room is directly across from another bedroom, so there is zero privacy for changing in bedroom #3.
The cabin was Christmas themed and appropriately decorated to support the Smoky Mountain bear imagery. So very fun. Owners were kind, helpful and extremely quick to respond to any question presented. The cabin is fully equipped for cooking and family dinners and over the course of our 5 days/4 nights, we never left. There is much to see in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, yet we were perfectly content to stay in this beautiful cabin and never do the tourist thing. We were excited to have snow arrive over the weekend, which provided an opportunity to use the wood fireplace. Perfect!!. The cabin easily supported the sleeping arrangements of our 12 friends and family. We couldn’t have been more satisfied. Thank you.
Beautiful cabin with plenty of room for the family💙
The cabin was beautiful, clean, and spacious for our family of 11. The only thing we had trouble with was getting to the cabin during snow and ice. If the weather is bad you better have 4 wheel drive. We missed our first night due to inclement weather. Other small issues were that they were in need of a better can opener and more than one roll of paper products per room.
All in all it was a wonderful experience. The owners are very nice and easy to work with. If you are planning to use the futons I'm the rooms for extra beds, please let them know before arriving so they will leave sheets out for them. The game room & movie theater was awesome and the decor is beautiful!
Thanks for a great stay!
