About this property

Pet Friendly Toccoa Riverfront Cabin with 1200' of Riverfront at your back door

NOW HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE! This Cabin in the North Georgia Mountains is Located on a Beautifully Wide, Easily Accessible part of the Toccoa River. The Cabin is Cedar on the outside and Pine on the inside, giving you the True Uniqueness of the 'Cabin Experience'. The cabin can sleep up to 6 people. BUT THE PRICING IS BASED ON 2 PERSONS. EACH ADDITIONAL PERSON IS $10 PER NIGHT.
The downstairs bedroom has a KING bed and the upstairs Loft has 2 twin beds. It also has its own Private Balcony overlooking the Pond. Downstairs, there are two couches. There is also a rocking chair and recliner, all in front of a real wood burning stone fireplace.

The Front Porch overlooks the Pasture area and the Back Porch faces the River that is just steps away There is a picnic table on the back porch and our swing is very unique in that it is twin size ie: wider and longer than other swings. Firewood is provided for the fireplace and there is an outdoor Fire Ring for summer Marshmallow roasts.I charge a very nominal rate of $5/night for firewood.

The Kitchen is well equipped, down to the spices. Dishware and silverware is for 8 persons. You do have to bring your own Linens (sheets, pillowcases and towels)and leave the cabin Clean. I am up frequently to see that your accommodations are in perfect condition.

There is also a laundry area with full size washer and dryer. The office area has a desk, phone, fax/copier machine. Internet service is with WIFI DSL. We also have a network extender which allows most cell phones to work in the cabin.
We have 2 flat screen TVs with Direct TV Satellite service and the one in the living room has a DVR box, allowing you to record two programs and watch another.

Located on more than 20 acres, the grounds are beautifully maintained with plantings that attract birds and butterflies. We keep cans of feed for the birds, deer, and fish and ask that our guests keep the critters fed. It is not uncommon to wake up and find a pasture full of deer!
You can walk over creeks, pan for gold, and picnic at the river or relax on the swing by the catfish pond under a gazebo, roofed with a ceiling fan. Feed the Trout and Catfish and be amazed at their feeding frenzy. The catfish pond is catch and release, the trout pond is feed only. But you can fly fish or fish from the bank of the river for more than 1200'. This is a section of the river that is open year round so you can keep all you catch. You do not need a fishing license or trout stamp when fishing from private property. There is also a 'Beach' area where even small children can splash and play in the river. Bring a float and you can float from the bridge down to the cabin.

While the mountain has its own trails, you can also hike the Appalachian or Benton McKaye trail or walk to close by waterfalls. Within a 30 minute drive you can visit Lake Winfield Scott, Dockery Lake, Lake Nottely in Blairsville, or Lake Blue Ridge.

The pasture areas will contain your pets if they have never been off leash . Bring your Frisbees or tennis balls and rackets. There is a barn within the fenced area and we offer this accommodation for people who want to bring their own horses. There are hours of riding trails right from the cabin.

There is a firm 3 night minimum. $150 for up to 2 persons, $10 for each additional person. For the following holidays, there is a firm 4 night minimum: Christmas, New Years, Easter, and Thanksgiving.
There is a pet fee of $7/pet, $10/ horse.per animal, per night. Pets MUST be on flea prevention.
I do have to charge 7% sales tax to the state and Fannin County has an additional 6% lodging tax. So, 13% is added to your cost.

I require a Release of Liability and a copy of your Driver's License. About a month before your reservation, I will send you a packet of information as an email attachment. Great Stay

It is hard for me to find the privacy I like, but this place was excellent. 20 acres, riverfront and no neighbors.

Neat mountain cabin.

The cabin is perfect for couples but would still be great for families. You probably won't spend much time in there anyway. The river is awesome, and the property has over 1400 ft of shoreline. We burned a fire in the fire pit every evening, and cooked every meal except one on the grill. 4 nights isn't enough time to really get familiar with the area but we tried.

Perfect location

Let me say first, this is not one of the 'scary driving up hill hard to get to without a 4 wheel drive' places. This is a place with relatively large flat yard, lots of river frontage as well as close up hill trails. It is very we will definitely return. peaceful and comfortable.

Perfect Fit

My 21 year old son and I went to walk the rivers and fish. We were able to do most of it right behind the house. The property is amazing with all the flowers, trees, bushes and birds. Very well kept.

Little Piece of Heaven

What a beautiful place - definitely a little piece of heaven! We spent a long weekend relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The landscaping is manicured perfectly with a lot of flowers, fruit trees and bird feeders everywhere. Our dog loved the freedom of running and playing in the fenced in pasture and also running the river bank playing in the river. The property owner was great to work with and very responsive. Very cozy cabin with a huge screened in porch that faces the river. We will definitely be back!

Christmas Getaway

If you are looking for a quiet place to getaway from your daily hustle and bustle, this is the place! The cabin was clean and cozy, the surrounding grounds were nicely maintained and the fenced in pasture was the perfect spot for my two boxers to run and play! My search for the perfect spot where fishing and hiking are easily accessible and my dogs are welcome is over! My only disappointment with this trip is that it ended when it did! We will be repeat guests at Carol’s Cabin.

Toccoa Riverfront

This is our second stay at Carol's cabin. We love the character of the cabin. It was very clean with a well stocked kitchen, along with a large stone fireplace and screen porch. There are two large fenced pastures as you enter the property used primarily by dogs and horses. We have 110 pound English Labrador Retriever named Jake that has some recall issues. So, it gave us comfort knowing we could let Jake off leach to run and play. This property is absolutely beautiful! There's is plenty of riverfront to fish, swim or tube and a hiking trail up the mountain. Carol is so easy to work with too. She accommodated our request to adjust the dates of our trip, in addition contacting us to offer an a check out time extension due to bad weather. We will be back.

Peaceful and perfect

This cabin was exactly as described on the site. It is peaceful and secluded and in a great location. We were able to take day trips to Dahlonega, Helen and Blue Ridge on our stay as each town is a short drive from the cabin. The cabin is decorated in a very lodge-like way and really encourages you to enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding it. We plan to stay here again in the future.

outside is fantastic

outside was fabulous except grass was overgrown with clover. one of our pups finally got a bee sting. rethink 30 minute drive for groceries and gas if you stay here. interior over decorated, dusty and very dark. fireplace smell overwhelming if you don't keep fans on 24/7. laundry, river, land was fabulous. Wish I still had a horse. grass should have been cut before we arrived, its a shame the flowers and bushes were all dying due to being sprayed. landscaping would have been fantastic. The bear evidently paid us a visit the last night and pulled down and beat up the bird feeder helping herself to plenty of seed. feeding the hummingbirds also was great.

Beautiful, peaceful oasis

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is so peaceful and beautiful. I really enjoyed watching the song birds and squirrels out the front window. We fished in the river and at a nearby trout pond. We cook their meals on the grill or in the kitchen and just enjoyed some really great quality time and rest together. Our little dog enjoyed exploring the property and the riverbank. The cabin had everything that we could possibly need and was very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Girls Weekend

My friend and I loved this property. This was my second time staying here. I always bring my dachshunds. The area and cabin is set up well for pets and the yard is very spacious. Having the river next to the house is awesome. We enjoyed walking along the river with the dogs and just relaxing in the afternoons at the cabin. The area is quiet and feels very safe.

Cozy Cabin

We enjoyed our time at Carol’s cabin. The location was perfect! We loved spending as much time as we could being outdoors on the property. It was like staying in a park!

It was like staying in a park! The grounds surrounding this cute cozy cabin are unbelievable. The fish weren’t too terribly cooperative but it is a very easy place to wade and cast. Unlike a lot of North Georgia Mountain rentals, especially those on the water, it was extremely easy to get to and access to the water could not be easier. The host answered all of our questions quickly. Thank you!

Why they chose this property

I spent summers at Lake Winfield Scott and fell in love with the area at an early age. While rapidly growing, the nearby towns of Blue Ridge, Blairsville and Dahlonega are not considered 'tourist traps' and have wonderfully friendly people

What makes this property unique

We bring our horses and pups and it is great to see THEIR enjoyment. They love the trails and the summer coolness, especially. We mainly work to keep the grounds 'estate-like' and continue to upgrade the cabin.
