Perfect All Season Getaway Home

Create lasting memories at the completely remodeled home located on a canal on East Burt Lake, North of Indian River. This gem is on a private and peaceful drive with shared private beach access to beautiful Burt Lake. Take advantage of the amazing Chain of Lakes, and stop along the river to swim or grab a bite to eat. The included dock allows you to secure your boat or rented watercraft from a nearby marina. You’ll experience some of the best fishing, sunrises, and sunsets in Northern Michigan.

Enjoy a 2022 golf cart ride to and from the private beach access. An agreement must be signed upon arrival.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house includes self-check-in, four beds (2 queens, 1 double, 1 twin), a queen sleeper sofa, furnished kitchen, linens, bath towels, a washer and dryer, and two kayaks.

The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom.

The property is located 2 miles off I-75, 5 minutes from Indian River, 30 minutes from Mackinaw City, and 35 minutes from Petoskey.

Please note the canal ranges from 2.5’ to 7’ deep.

First trip to Burt Lake

We enjoyed the house for our first trip to the Burt Lake area. Having the boat docked right out side was very convenient. The property was clean and well appointed for our stay.

Great place, perfect spot if you’re bringing your boat!! The canal is protected from high winds, and the dock was very well maintained for docking. We were able to fit all 9 family members. It was well stocked, owner communicated well and we would book again in a heart beat

Great Cottage

Six adults stayed here to celebrate fiftieth birthdays. The cottage & garage were very clean, the kitchen is well-stocked with serving & cooking ware. The host was very accommodating, plenty of outdoor seating. A boat launch is nearby so it's easy to bring a boat. Highly recommend this property.

A Weekend Away

Amazing get away

This place is just amazing. Quiet, clean, perfect location. The house is just as it looks in the pictures if not better. We had no issues with anything and would recommend this house to anyone. Highly recommend.

Exceeded Expectations!

In short, first impressions exceeded our expectations. The place was very clean and had that new home feeling. It had just about everything you would need to cook which we did the entire stay. The beach was a brisk walk away. The lake is very large. The canal behind the house gave the water feel and the deer we saw was a nice surprise. The golf cart was also nice to use. We were very happy with the accommodations and will keep it in mind next summer. Thanks for everything.

Private Beach description

We loved the house and location for our trip. My only negative opinion is I wish the description of the private beach was more accurate. It’s very small and all large rocks on the beach. My kids were disappointed that we couldn’t drive the golf cart to the beach. We had to drive 10 minutes to the state park for beach access.

Great week at a great location

We travel up to Burt or Mullett lake every year as a family vacation. This is the best cabin/house that we have stayed at. The property was clean, which is most important to us and the location was great. We had ample parking for our cars and boat trailer, and a nice private canal for safe boat storage (definitely put our minds at ease over using a mooring bouy on the windy side of the lake). The manager was fantastic with timely communication and help through the reservation process and also while we were at the cabin. We finished up a propane tank and the owner took care of us the next morning. We had a great week and would definitely stay again!

Ultimate family vacation

The property is very well maintained, spotless, comfortable and nicely decorated and they have thought of every convenience one might need. There is a golf cart for the short ride to a beautiful shallow water sandy beach that we enjoyed every day. The canal side offers a place to tie off your boat and the canal is a short ride to Burt lake, Indian River, the inland waterway and Mullet Lake. We enjoyed a variety of wildlife; turtles, frogs, deer to name a few. There is a gas firepit for relaxing in the evenings and for making s’more’s. We came here with the hope of a good old fashioned summer vacation, we checked that box multiple times and will be back! Denise was very responsive to every question I had before arriving. Highly recommend!

Just a 10-minute Drive to the Public Beach

Beach vacation gone wrong. The manufactured home is located on a canal and has a large deck and dock. The home is decorated in a beach theme which is very cute. It is not beachfront though as advertised. The "beach" is a dirt and rock location down by the canal entrance and there was a sign posted warning of poison ivy. Upon check-in we found mouse droppings under the kitchen sink. We bought traps and ended up catching 3 mice during our stay. When I contacted the host about these issues she became very hostile. Customer service at VRBO recommended that we take a video upon check to prove that we left the house in clean and undamaged condition. Why didn't we leave? We live out-of-state and had plans to spend time with grandchildren. We did try to work with customer service to find another house/cabin available in the area. I wish that I could upload pictures to this review.

Nice Location and Property

We found this property to be perfect for our needs. The location, at the end of the canal, is wonderful. We saw an abundance of wildlife and we were able to hear it as well as the neighborhood was quiet. I loved being able to sit out and enjoy the water. The property was also a perfect location for our day trips. At the house, we enjoyed the patio spaces. The tabletop fire is lovely to gather around. We also appreciated the availability of the dock right outside of the house. We had days of excellent weather for boating/fishing. The private beach at the end of the road was great to watch the sunset. It was an easy, pleasant walk to get there leisurely and the golf cart ride to get there was equally nice! The shoreline of Burt Lake has little rocks, but it turns to a very nice sandy bottom within several feet. The private beach area is also shallow for a good distance. It would be perfect for little kids to enjoy. DeVoe Beach (It’s pretty shallow too.) is also very close and we enjoyed a day of swimming/lounging there. There are several items available at the house to use at the beach. We appreciated the beach chairs. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well stocked; The living room was pleasant to hang out in. The bedrooms were comfortable and roomy. The house has been updated/remodeled; it looks and feels very nice. Our host replied quickly and kindly to our questions. I would be happy to stay here again!

We loved our stay! We felt very comfortable, safe, and it was very clean. The location was great, too. Its very close to Mackinac Island. We just loved every minute of our visit. We will definitely come back .

Relaxing Getaway

Much needed, perfect relaxing getaway! The location, the nature, the water. The property beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated! Had everything needed for our stay! Saw many deer, one we saw eating apples only 20 feet away from us as we took a ride in the Golf cart! Only 28 minutes to Mackinaw where we enjoyed a day on the Island and in Mackinaw City! Loved our stay! We will be back!

Great location!

The perfect cottage for gathering of friends and family

The cottage is modern, comfortable and very clean. Simply bring your clothes and all other needed items are provided. Plenty of sleeping accommodations and each room was provided with their own TV. Close to downtown Indian River. Would highly recommend as a great place to stay.

Loved this place!!

I would definitely stay again!! Very nice place!! Enjoyed having kayaks and enjoyed fishing! It was nice to be close to the state park ramp to put our boat in!! Also the golf cart was nice to watch the sunset on the beach! The host was also great and very fast to respond!

Great property and perfect location!

House was better than pictured. Everything wsa clean and well organized. Having seen a previous review, we brought plastic plates & cups for the kiddos. Nice extras - shampoo, conditioner and body wash in dispensers, and other toiletries available in case they were forgotten. Location was super convenient to Indian River downtown, and for our trip to Mackinac. Grill on the deck was convenient and easy to use. Thanks for a lovely family vacation spot!
