Fall getaway

We really enjoyed our stayed in the A frame cabin #2. Sitting on the deck in the early evening was so peaceful. Wonderful place to distress. It was fun giving “cookies” to the 2 goats. We were told we could feed them, but wasn’t sure where they were kept. The goats sure let us know. The bull was also fun to pet. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Fun place for a summer trip

The property was adorable and planned out well. We were there in September and it was only 40 degrees at night. It was freezing! The second night they put in a heater, which helped a lot. There was not a microwave but everything else was there as advertised (once the heater was installed). This would be a really perfect place in the warmer summer months.

Amazing stay

Mackenzie runs such a wonderful place. Dakota Dream is truly a beautiful property in the black hills. There are multiple options for your stay, including cute A-frames, cabins, and rooms in her bed and breakfast house. It was very apparent to us that Mackenzie takes real pride in her business, reflected in the beauty and cleanliness of her property. What really wowed us was how she dealt with this software double booking the stay. She was able to rectify the situation immediately, coming to meet us as soon as we got to the property. There are many folks that run places to stay that would not have gone to the lengths to make sure we were taken care of as Mackenzie! We highly, highly recommend staying here!

Hi! I'm Mackenzie Wright, the new owner of Dakota Dream! My infant daughter, Madeline, and I are looking forward to having you stay with us.

I was raised in Portland, Oregon around rodeos with a love of horses, hunting and nature. While attending the Devil's Lake Law Enforcement Academy, I experienced and came to love the landscape of the Dakotas. My time in law enforcement was very rewarding, and I've maintained my certification as a North Dakota peace officer and work with my K-9 Able.

I enjoy interaction with people of all ages and I frequently use my K-9 Able to educate children and teens about the dangers of drugs.

Why they chose this property

Dakota Dream Bed & Breakfast and Horse Hotel is my passion, enabling me to support and spend time with my family as we share our Dakota Dream with you!

What makes this property unique

We are located just outside Custer City Limits, but you will feel like your miles away from hustle and bustle. Whether you're sitting on the deck and watching the wildlife come through the meadow or star gazing at night, you'll find it's a peaceful, quiet place to unwind. Bring your horses!
