Didn’t meet expectations – dirt and access issues
The photos on the listing are quite misleading — the reality is unfortunately very different. The location itself is nice: the house is by the lake and has a large backyard, but that’s where the positives end.Getting there was a challenge, and there’s parking space for only two cars. If you're coming with a group, the rest will need to park at Bob’s Marina (a 5-minute walk). Something to keep in mind when planning your stay.The real headache was getting inside the house. The smart lock system was far from intuitive, and without clear instructions, it was nearly impossible to enter. I strongly recommend the hosts provide a detailed guide in advance.At first glance, the interior looked fine, but as soon as we started unpacking, it became clear everything was extremely dirty — the fridge, the floor, the sheets, blankets, and rugs. The rug in the living room shed so much that the fibers spread all over the house in just two days.Also: please, change the filters in the fridge — it’s long overdue.The bathrooms were especially disappointing. Knowing that water quality in the area isn’t great, the choice to install a black bathtub backfired. It looked like someone tried to paint it white but stopped halfway through — like it was stuck in the middle of priming. It gave off a very unpleasant impression.As a travel agent, I don’t recommend chose this house. To be fair, the house does have a few things going for it: plenty of space, board games, and a lovely Lake Catherine.
