Your able to leave the cabin and drive right to the the Oconto or Marinette trails on your UTV or ATV since your right on the boarder of the 2 counties. Ours stay was very relaxing. The furnace is noisy. The lake has alot of weeds. Never was able to get Wi-Fi and the TV stations also failed.
Over all was a nice relaxing time.
I grew up in Milwaukee and always loved spending my summers in Marinette/Oconto and Florence counties up north. I feel so peaceful and connected with nature there. So, leaving was always hard, and this time was no exception. The cabin was perfect, just as you'd expect—nothing fancy, just the essentials: a full bath, full kitchen, heating/air conditioning, electricity, and wifi. The property and lake are absolutely beautiful, and there's abundant wildlife. We saw a pair of swans on the lake, a huge snapping turtle that came to visit us by the pier, and deer every time we took a walk down the main road. We caught a ton of fish—bluegill, sunfish, and largemouth bass. I even broke my own record and caught an 18" largemouth bass on a bobber off the pier! I already want to go back and will definitely be planning a trip there again next year. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!
Property was exactly as described. Lake has plenty of blue gills, so fishing was fun. We also enjoyed using the kayaks. A great place for a quiet fishing weekend.
Mobile home stay- wish we would have know this- some of the door frames are low, so my husband ended up hitting his head a few times walking through, so if you're taller, be careful.
Would have liked to see a welcome sheet, couldn't find the Wifi- password or boating equipment without asking.
We enjoyed staying on this property, we were there for UTV'ing, so the location was great for us to access both Oconto county/ Marinette county trail systems.
The fishing for us was great each night, would recommend! So happy that the trailer had oil and fish batter for frying, one less thing we had to pick up.
Very quiet property with a ton of privacy.
We had a great time in this cabin! It is very private, i walked every day down the road, we did a fire in the evenings, fishing was great from the pier (bluegills and large mouth bass), did kayaking. Also, visited 4 waterfalls (within one hour drive from the cabin), they are beautiful, i would recommend to see..
Grocery store is 14 min away, as well as a gas stations whic was very convenient.
Cabin is clean has the AC, great tv, and all you need.
Thank you to the hosts!
My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The cabin was was clean, neat and well appointed. Communication with the host was easy. We hiked, biked and kayaked. The campfires were nice as was Dave’s Falls a short distance away. I recommend the cabin for any couple with or without small children looking for seclusion.
small but charming , out of the hustle and bustle. great getaway for a few days.suggest doing the waterfalls close by .nice hiking . some local bars and supper clubs. fall colors are a sight to see.caught a perch off dock. best for couple and maybe small kids. cabin has all you need as well, owners very responsive to questions.
Stayed with my wife and two boys and really enjoyed it. It's secluded and quiet. Not many people on the lake, or least that you can see. Sat out by firepit every night and relaxed. Everything you need is within 20 minutes, but you're still "away from it all". Nice place. would go back.
My husband and I enjoyed our week at this cabin. As others have mentioned, the ongoing dredging in the lake and the abundance of water plants covering much of the lake are somewhat negative factors, but when the dredger isn't operating, it's tremendously quiet and peaceful. It was great to have the boats available to go out on the lake. The hosts were responsive when we had questions. We were disappointed that the trolling motor didn't work, and one oarlock was also coming out, so had to use canoe paddles to get out and fish. My husband notified the owner of these issues so hopefully they will have been rectified for future customers.
We were looking for a quiet place to unwind and this place fit the bill. The furnishings are dated but we knew that from the pictures. There was no internet or cable tv but they do have a nice tv with antenna channels and lots of movies. The power went out due to a strong storm and the owner stayed in touch with the energy company, messaging us updates. The lake has LOTS of lily pads. They were dredging in front of the cabin while we were there. A bit annoying but that wasn't anyone's fault.
That’s the only thing that wasn’t awesome about our state. Was the guy doing maintenance to the lake it was a constant pump on his pontoon all day long and sometimes into early evening, but other than that it was awesome.
Lovely small house, beautiful view. Very tranquil and quiet. We saw some geese on the last day and they had their "teenagers" with them. We had an issue with the "lock" called the owners who were really nice and helped us
Highly recommend the place. The driveway was a bit of a surprise.
One thing that would have been helpful was to have a "book" of restaurants, attractions, other things for the local area.
I had contacted the host prior and she gave me great recommendations.
good cell phone service
The place was clean and tidy we had a relaxing time weather was good not to hot I wish the lake was a little deeper but I still caught pan fish and bass which was fun thanks
Well stocked kitchen with nice dishes, plenty of pots & pans and nice selection of utensils! Overall, a clean and comfortable Northwoods Cabin with nice yard and fire pit! Lake has limited access from property as not an easy launch area for canoes or kayaks and no swimming from shore or pier. However, the water was covered in beautiful Water lilies!
Nice/private remote getaway with a good lake and pleasant owner.
It was a quiet and calm, nice, very private property. It’s exactly what we wanted in a relaxing, remote getaway. The lake was nice, and the bass were biting a lot. But it was just close enough to Lakewood that getting some groceries wasn’t a hassle. The owner was very responsive and communicative about any questions or concerns we had.
