Quintessential Montecito
Before Oprah, before Ellen, before the 3rd string Prince and Princess, there was a very different Montecito, truly the last bastion of charm, class, and majesty, before heading south to the contrived, the crowded, and the crazy.
A place where those of class and sophistication settled, those looking for a sanctuary, a hiding place, that just so happens to also be one of most beautiful locations and landscapes in all of America, and the World for that matter.
While Montecito has a handful of excellent neighborhoods, this property is situated in one of the most sought after.
It is where unaffected locals with young families settle, to enjoy quiet normalcy, and to avoid the nouveau tourist/LA weekend warrior. Walk to Upper Village, or Coast Village, Miramar and Butterfly Beaches..
The property is best described as "painfully perfect." Charming, well proportioned, practical, traditional with hints of modern. Martha's vineyard with Manhattan sprinkled in.
I took my time going from room to room, savoring each one, appreciating the level of detail. Really incredible.
Frankly, in my opinion, VRBO doesn't deserve a property like this.
The decor and finishes are superb, and if you don't like it, it means it is wasted on you. No offense.
Look, you can pay an arm and a leg for a room with two double beds on train tracks decorated by Restoration Hardware, or rent a mansion that you need mountaineering equipment to get to.....or, when in Rome, do as the Romans do, and live the true authentic Montecito experience (pre-invasion)
