About this property

291416 Water's Edge Cabin, Kentucky Lake, Stewart, Tn., Waterfront/Dock

Water's Edge Cabin is right on the water with its' own private boat dock/swim platform. It is a three bedroom cabin with 2 full bathrooms. The great room and kitchen are "open concept". The master suite has a king size bed with its' own bath, jetted tub and shower. The other side of the house is devoted to a bedroom with a king size bed, which overlooks the water, then the other bedroom has 4 twin beds. These 2 bedrooms share a full size bathroom. The great room/kitchen area leads out to the screened in porch which runs across the entire length of the back of the house, which is over the water. From the screened in porch, there is a "sunning area", then our gas grill complete with propane and also our fire pit, which we supply plenty of split firewood and firewood starter cubes. The gangplank leads down to Water's Edge's boat dock/swim platform. We have free Roku T.V. and free Wi-Fi.
There are 30 miles of forest trails for hiking and bird watching. Kentucky Lake surrounds the cabin. All water sports are yours. Even on Holidays you will feel like you have the lake to yourself. It is a remote area and in our area of Ky. Lake, to be perfectly honest, is NEVER CROWDED!
We happily accept pets! Vrbo will handle the billing for 1 pet. If you want to bring 2 pets, or more, I will handle the billing for pets over 1.
We also have 2 sizes of pontoon boats that we have for rent and we also have 5 Kawasaki 4x4 "mules", 2 bench seats/bed in the back, that we have for rent. OR, please feel free to bring your boat and atv's. You can launch your boat steps away from Water's Edge, then just tie it up to Water's Edge's dock. There is plenty of parking for cars, boat trailers, atv's at Water's Edge.
Water's Edge is quiet, private and has spectacular views of Ky. Lake....if you're into getting out of the city/hustle/bustle and just want to swim, fish, boat, ride atv's or RELAX, look no further.
In cleaning each cabin, we don a fresh mask and gloves, and we also use the VICTORY INNOVATIONS C9 SPRAYER/SOLUTION, then spray the entire inside of the house, then the patio furniture and boats. This solution is odorless, colorless and tasteless and kills 99.99% of bacteria. The airlines use this same system to sanitize their airplanes upon customers departing the airplane, then new customers boarding.

Great location

This is a trailer. It’s not obviously shown in the property photos. The living room furniture should be replaced. We booked in the summer. The ac stopped working on 2nd day. Had to leave early, too hot inside, even at night. The location is great. The property is very clean and well stocked

Breath of fresh air!

My husband and Labrador had a fabulous time with our stay at the property. The check in process was super easy. We had a fully stocked kitchen, Comfortable king size bed, and fluffy towels. We rented a pontoon for two days and the mule for two days. It is a toss up between which we enjoyed more. The trail map provided for the mules was fabulous with eagle and deer sightings. It was almost like we were the only ones in the area. We ate a couple of great meals from the specials menu at Southernaire. We had a couple of tasty omelets and hash brown breakfasts from Danville Country Store. Don’t miss a mule ride in the ferry to watch the barges go by. Thank you, Andrea. We will definitely be back!

Excellent Host

We had a great stay at Waters Edge! Waters Edge is right on the water and is just as shown in the pictures. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working properly and apparently the mayflies were taking over the property on the day of our arrival! I’ve honestly never seen so many bugs!! Andrea informed us right away about the problems and had a solution before we even arrived. She was honest about the issues and offered us everything she could to make up for the inconvenience. Luckily one of her other properties, the Oakview house, located deep in the wooded area was available for us to stay. It was not what we had planned but we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked the seclusion of the alternative spot. No neighbors and it was perfect for our two dogs. We enjoyed exploring the trails and the beautiful creeks! The hosts give you maps and information on absolutely everything there is to see and do in the area. Andrea was so accommodating! She did everything and more to make sure our stay was not ruined. Her kindness and generosity was top notch! All in all, we were able to enjoy both properties, one on the water and one in the woods, and it was a wonderful stay. Both places were clean and comfortable. Everything you could possibly need for cooking and plenty of clean bedding is provided, too. Thank you Andrea for a lovely getaway at Kentucky Lake!

True relaxation on the water

This was probably the best family vacation we have ever had. The property was perfect for us and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The location can't be beat. The beauty of the lake is just unreal and you couldn't be any closer than sitting on the porch or dock of water's edge. We rented the mule and a pontoon. Exploring the creek was one of the highlights of our trip and the day on the lake was everyone's favorite part. I can't believe how quiet and peaceful it is, even on a weekend in July. The locals were so friendly and kind. You are close to a few places to grab snacks, bait, or a fresh cooked meal. My kids are 16 months, 4 & 13 and everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you so much Andrea, you are a lovely host and I hope to book our next trip to one of your properties very soon!

One of the best getaways

This vacation was a wonderful getaway. One of our favorite places by far! Andrea was incredibly and very easy to work with. She was easily accessible whenever we needed! The house was perfect for us and the view was stunning. We went out on one of the pontoons and rode one of the mules; both were fun and Andrea made it easy to just enjoy our stay. Overall, we would definitely come back to stay here!

Wonderful lake getaway

This rental was great for our weekend getaway at the lake. The cabin was comfortable and clean. We rented one of the pontoon boats and greatly enjoyed spending much of the day out on the water. The owners were responsive and very helpful. We brought all the food/grocery items we would need as instructed by the owners (it’s pretty remote in terms of stores, but on a short street with several others houses and a small market) and everything else we needed was at the cabin. We would certainly stay again!

Nice, quiet stay!

The property was clean, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. There’s not much around, so if you’re looking to unplug and relax, this is perfect! We rented the boat and Mule and enjoyed exploring the creek and backroads. The neighbors are very nice and were fun to chat with! The covered deck was the best part of this home, and we spent a lot of time out there. I recommend bringing a fan to keep on the deck to keep the air moving…we brought one and we were very thankful for it! George and Andrea were incredible hosts, and their communication was great.

Perfect Place

This property is the perfect place for a lake vacation. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need for preparing meals, large spacious screened in porch for enjoying meals outside, we’d loved spending the day on the private swimming dock, fishing, and swimming with the kids. We also rented the owners 15 person pontoon for a day and went exploring on the lake and tubing. Owners are extremely friendly ,helpful and do an extremely good job hosting. The home is located on a very quiet part of the lake with little boat traffic. Our family had an absolute wonderful time and cannot wait to go back. I would highly recommend this home and these owners!!

Great lake getaway

2 families stayed at Water’s Edge Cabin. We had a wonderful experience overall. There was a snafu while checking in- VRBO sent the address for the property office rather than our cabin. We wasted an hour trying to find the location. Part of that was on me I suppose- the correct address was on the site, but Andrea’s initial email didn’t have an address and when VRBO sent the check in details that had an address, I didn’t think I needed to look any further. George, however, found me stranded near the office and was a wonderful help in getting us to the cabin. Once we got there, the weekend was absolutely amazing! We had the option of swimming right there off the dock (which was huge and has a table and chairs which was an added bonus) or taking our boat out. We took advantage of both! Other reviews said how well stocked the place was- and they were not wrong. I think Andrea has thought of EVERYTHING. There was not a single thing we needed that this place did not have- plenty of ice trays (can’t go on the boat without ample ice), a crock pot, blender, all paper items…..just everything! The place is not luxurious, but it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful views

I will start with the good. The owners of the property were super nice and very helpful and made checking in and checking out a breeze. The view from the trailer was beautiful. We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The lake was beautiful, and we tubed and swam and fished and repeated 😊. It was very quiet and not crowded with other boaters. I would advise that you rent the mule. We had the best time riding to the most beautiful creek. The water was crystal clear. My daughters, husband, and I found many beautiful blue rocks left over from iron smelting. We rode many miles looking at the scenery. The trailer had most of what you needed if you like to cook, which we do. There were plenty of towels and plenty of hot water for showers. The beds were comfortable. We brought our boat, and the boat ramp was within walking distance to the trailer. The bait shop at the boat ramp was handy, and the people running it were very nice and helpful. If you do bring a boat, I suggest you go straight to the boat ramp and drive your boat and dock it at the property. It is treacherous trying to park the boat at the property due to the steep driveway and very difficult to get turned around to get out once in. Unless, you have a small boat and trailer.

Great property right on the water

2 couples stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time! We rented the boat and mule for most of the week and that made the time here even better! Wonderful lake to explore via boat for sure! The ramp down to the swim deck was very steep, which you can see a bit from pics. We are not spring chickens so I was worried how this would be for us, but overall no issue we just took it very slow and made sure to have everything we needed to avoid multiple trips up and down. Communication superb with owners before and during our trip! We would stay here again.

Beautiful location

We had a lovely, long weekend at The Wayer's Edge. We loved the views from the porches! Just spectacular. This was the end of a KY/TN family vacation and we planned to spend it on the water. We rented both pontoon boats and spent hours exploring the lake. The cottage completely suited our needs. We had plenty of space for our family and dog to spread out. Since the location is very remote, we packed lunches for on the boat or cooked at the home which worked out great. If you don't like being somewhat isolated, this isn't the place for you, but if you love quiet and remote, this is a great choice. We were here when there were tons of mayflies so we couldn't enjoy the evenings outside as much as we'd like but we had fun watching some movies. The house is clean and comfortable, though dated and older. The green space across the road was a good place to walk our dog, as there isn't really a grassy place. My son had fun using his metal detector around the peninsula, too! A 4 wheel drive vehicle will be handy! Thanks for a great end to our family vacation, Andrea and George!

Very good overall stay

This is a nice property along a cove of a river. Waterway is not overly busy which we viewed as a plus and it was neat being able to see river barges in transit at various times. Property itself is as described in the listing for the most part. We rented a boat from Andrea and had no issues - everything as expected! Communication was also excellent and the property had a lot of great information in it such as places to eat and various things to do. My kids really liked walking through hurricane creek! Only a couple of negatives - one of the four bunk beds just had a box spring and no mattress. Another reviewer noted the issue as well. When I mentioned it to the property owner he just said that we should use the pull out couch if we needed that bed. That didn’t work for us because we had 4 young kids supposed to sleep in the bunks, and if we put them on the pull out couch there was nowhere for the adults to sit in the AC and talk in the evening. The net result was that one of the adult couples had to have a kid sleep in their bed each night, which is not always desirable. The other negative was the presence of lots of wasps on the property. Probably not much anyone can do about that but we kept getting wasps flying in the screened in porch. With a bunch of little kids we were concerned they would get stung so we were extra cautious walking around the property and down to the water to make sure no issues. Bottom line - great place to go and spend some time. If not for the box spring issue I would have given 5 stars.

About the host

Hosted by ANDREA RICHARDS

Host profile image
We came on a whim to take a drive through the country. We had no thoughts of buying anything. Before we left we had puchased 500 acres of beautiful forest land right on Kentucky Lake just below the Kentucky border.
From 1992 on we did improvements everywhere. We put a road in 2.5 miles and brought in electricity.
We moved in, (1999).

Why they chose this property

We live on the 500 acres of our property. We retired here because of the beauty of the nature all around us. There are only 8,000 very friendly folks living in our county. There is one grocery store and only 4 places to buy gas and no shopping centers! We do have our own fuel tanks for guests.
We do not lock our doors at our home. (Do not even remember where the keys are.)
The Lake is 184 miles long with over 2000 miles of shore line. It is one of the great fresh water fishing lakes in the USA.
Hardwood forests dominate the land.

We came, we saw, we bought, we retired here.

What makes this property unique

Panoramic vistas with forests and water and no development make this area an ideal place for vacationing for families and group getaways.
Nature surrounds us.
Our land is on the Mississippi Flyway. In the spring and fall we have all the migratory birds come through us.
Bald eagles are here year round. We see them from the shore and best of all from the water.
Kentucky Lake is one of the best fishing lakes in the South.
The lake is ideal for all water sports. Lots of coves with calm waters for skiing and swimming.
Even on holidays you will be quite alone on the water and forest.
