We had a wonderful time is this beautiful cabin on the lack. Looking out the huge windows as the sunrised over the lake was magical. Carrie the host was super responsive and helpful. The hottub and sauna were great. Super relaxing experience.
The cabin was perfect for a quick getaway and loved that it was not too far from the cities! The house had plenty of games and lake toys for our group to enjoy. Carrie was a great host and easy to communicate with.
We loved this place for our family reunion. So convenient to get to for our family in the Twin Cities and wonderful for those of us from out of town to stay. The water toys included 2 kayaks, a paddle board and a lily pad. Although there was no sandy beach to get into the water, the lake bottom in front of the house was sandy, not silty. There were plenty of towels, beach towels, and dishes. The provided baby gates for the staircases worked well for a 15 month baby. The hosts were responsive — when the kayak paddles were missing, they authorized us to purchase and then reimbursed us for two new ones.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! This was our first family vacation with my siblings and the cousins, so it was fun to all be able to stay together in a big house. The view is unbeatable! Big windows and screen doors are everywhere, with plenty of places to sit and eat inside and outside while looking at the lake. Some cousins and uncles fished off the dock, and others enjoyed the paddle board and Lilly pad provided. We were hoping for more of a beach for the younger cousins, so we ended up driving to Island Park beach 5 minutes up the road multiple times a day. The decor inside is adorable and felt like we were at a cabin up north, but so close to our home in the city. We would have loved to be able to get on the water with a boat/pontoon/kayak rental, but did use our floaties off the end of the dock. It’s not easy to get in to the lake - big, slippery rocks that you have to scale down - my mom was able to get down once but my dad wouldn’t try it. Overall, it was a wonderful place to host our first family vacation!
The photos do not adequately represent the tranquility and serenity of this well kept log cabin. We flew in from the Washington DC area to MSP to spend time with family who are local to Minneapolis, and this location is super convenient, i.e. less than an hour's drive.
The log cabin is very modern, all bathrooms renovated, appliances are new, you'll need nothing when there.
The lake is calm and not at all crowded. There is a boat launch less than 10 mins away. Our family brought their boat and we used the dock to go out often.
We had a rental company deliver deliver and pick up two jet ski's from the nearby boat launch so we didn't have to leave the cabin. We used the paddle boards, lilly pad, fire pit, hot tub, grill and the board games!
We found some great restaurants for dinner: Stellas on 97, Cornerstone Grill & Pub and Don Julio's
Thank you for sharing your place with us Carrie, you're a wonderful host!
Rent with confidence!
Great place for a week of vacation! Our family of 6 loved it. Able to have our boat with us and use the dock for easy access to the lake. Highly recommend!!
Everything was absolutely perfect while staying here for our family board game weekend. Carrie was so responsive, and even left us a thoughtful goodie basket when we arrived. The house was clean and the decor was beautiful. Highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be booking again!
