Off-Grid Tiny Cabin | Cozy, Secluded & Pet Friendly
Get away from it all and sleep under the stars at this peaceful off-grid retreat! Nestled on 4 private acres and surrounded by over 150 acres of public-access state land, this tiny cabin offers rustic charm with just the right touch of comfort.
Whether you’re looking for a digital detox or a basecamp for outdoor adventure, this is the Catskills at its most magical.
A True Off-Grid Experience
This cabin is fully off-grid, with solar-powered lighting, WiFi, and one electrical outlet for essentials. A Jotul wood-burning stove provides heat and ambiance in cooler months, and a portable space heater is available if you'd rather not build a fire.
The kitchenette includes a foot-pump sink, one-burner stove, and all cookware and tools needed to prepare meals. A propane BBQ grill is available outside, and there's also a fire pit if you want to cook the old-fashioned way. There is no fridge but a cooler is provided.
Interior Features
Inside, large windows bring the outdoors in. A cozy corner loveseat and expandable dining table offer space for meals, games, and lazy afternoons.
Up in the loft, you'll find a full-size bed accessed by a sturdy metal ladder. Guests must be able to safely climb up and down.
On the main level, a daybed offers additional sleeping space—ideal for one child or a guest who prefers not to climb.
Curated Comforts
Thoughtfully furnished with a mix of vintage camping gear and modern touches, the cabin includes Pendleton blankets, linen duvet covers, soft throw blankets, yoga mats, and a sheepskin rug.
You'll also find a Bodum pour-over coffeemaker, enamelware dish set, vintage barware, games, and books.
No Indoor Plumbing
There is no indoor plumbing. A brand-new, custom-built outhouse is located just behind the cabin.
In warm months, solar-heated shower bags are available for open-air bathing. These include a hose and nozzle for easy use.
Outdoor Space
The cabin sits at the back of the property, tucked under trees for shade and privacy. A large lawn offers space for games, reading in the grass, or stargazing by the fire pit.
Historic stone walls line the land, and NYS DEC fields behind the cabin are frequented by deer, turkeys—and occasionally bears!
What’s Nearby
Despite the secluded feel, you’re just minutes from Bovina Center and nearby villages filled with restaurants, coffee shops, markets, and boutiques.
You’ll receive a local guide with all our favorite trails, sunrise and sunset spots, and hidden picnic and sledding areas.
Please note: the adjacent state land allows hunting, so be sure to check the NYS DEC Southern Zone hunting calendar if you'd prefer to avoid those dates.

The loft bed requires climbing a ladder.
The fireplace is not gated—please use caution.
There are no curtains—we love the view! Bring a sleep mask if you're sensitive to sunlight.
