Issues with Rosewood property
Check in process was easy and host was responsive. Unfortunately, the home had an infestation of some sort of bugs and got worse as the night went on. I immediately contacted the host and she said she was aware of the bug issue and had an exterminator at the home earlier and she apologized for the issue. We attempted to kill the bugs However, more bugs came out as the night went on. I booked a hotel and took the kids to the hotel in hopes that by morning the bugs would be gone. Unfortunately, in the morning they were even worse.
I contacted the host early in the morning to notify her that we could not stay in the home due to the bug infestation. It was everywhere, in the kitchen, in the bedrooms, in the bathroom, in the living rooms, in the halls… I requested a full refund, she stated she called VRBO and had trouble with the agent and she was only able to refund part of the money and she stated I would have to call VRBO to get the rest refunded.
When I called VRBO they stated the host should have canceled the reservation so she could have refunded me the full amount. It appears she didn’t want to cancel it due to it messing up her metrics. So now I’m having to make multiple calls to VRBO in order to get the rest of my money refunded.
The location is in a rough neighborhood and we did not feel safe parking our cars in the front yard. The house is next door to what looks like an abandoned apartment building. Google the address and you will see the neighborhood.
