This Log Home Gem was built new in 2007 as a Model Home and is now being opened up for public rental. The attention to detail is astounding. This beautiful home features high pitched vaulted ceilings with log purlins, dormers and gables that architects dream about. Its massive windows capture the beauty of the surrounding views including marshlands, woods, and the glistening lake. These windows enable you to stand in awe of the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets that accompany the picturesque Minnesota landscape. Not to mention that huge full moon as it peaks above the lake on the distant horizon.

This home features all the finishes you would expect from "Log Home Luxury" including Natural Slate flooring, Granite countertops, Custom Hickory Cabinets, plush carpet, whirlpool tub for two in the master suite, slate shower, front load washer and dryer and plenty of off street parking.

A family vacation

Three of us stayed in Garrison for a week. We enjoyed the house very much. We cooked every night and the kitchen was well appointed. The local grocery store was sufficient. There was a fruit and vegetable stand close by. We drove to Brainerd frequently. Lots of cute stores including Christmas Point and Rice Company (not sure of the exact name). which is not a Christmas store . There was a wild fire in the land behind the house on our last day there. Pretty interesting and exciting! I love Minnesota.

Beautiful Getaway!

Our end of the summer trip couldn’t have gone any better! The cabin itself was amazing (pictures don’t do it justice) and although we did have to cross a busy road to get to the lake and dock, it was all worth it from the cotton candy sunrises to the spacious game room and hospitable people we met. Thank you so much for making our stay comfortable and unforgettable!! :)

Great memories made at this property!

We had 7 adults in the house and it was more than enough space. Loren was amazing and very helpful when we checked in. There is lots of yard to at Yard games etc. The lake is across the road and we were able to keep our boat on the dock. The road is busy but we navigated it no problem. We definitely would book again!

Awesome

First and foremost communication with the host was excellent. We had several questions and always got quick responses. Secondly the home is beautiful our entire group loved this house and were blown away by it as soon as we drove up. It’s big and well maintained. It’s also fully stocked with extra bedding and things. We had three couples and each of us had a couple little kids so the extra air mattresses and bedding came in handy. There is a dock so we brought our boat and docked it there. It is across a busy road but it’s not to inconvenient. Overall it was a fantastic stay and we plan on coming back.

Beautiful Home

This home is just beautiful. Steve was an excellent host. He had everything we needed there for the kitchen, bathrooms and entertainment - all we needed to do was provided our own food. Steve even added some personal touches by checking us in himself/showing us around the property/leaving us a bottle of wine. While the location isn’t the greatest for those with little kids, right across from a busy highway, we and our adult kids were able to navigate it several times during our stay, mainly to access the dock across the way. Steve recommended Terry’s boat rental, where we were able to rent a pontoon for the whole day and come/go as we pleased. Steve also had several excellent food recommendations - Out of Place Pizza, which was rated very highly by the whole family (and we’re from Chicago). Twin Pines was also very good and just a walk down the road. Overall, excellent stay.

Me and my 2 brothers along with our sons and grandsons spent 4 days and nights while fishing during.

Excellent place to stay. Would be better with a more beds in the game room. We had 9 adult men and only 3 beds. Rest slept on air mattresses and one roll out bed. Still was very nice place

Great stay for multiple families

Super clean, spacious cabin which was ideal for two families. Across the street from the lake and on a busy highway made access to the lake with younger kids a little tricky (waiting for a gap in speeding vehicles from both directions to cross the road). Host was great.

Everything was great about our stay. It was super easy to communicate while booking and checking in. Had no issues with the house-was very clean, had all we needed and the online listing was spot on! Plenty of room for kids to play out front and to the side of the house, despite being close to the highway. Close to boat ramps for a great fishing experience too!

Family Getaway

Highly recommend this property. With five adults and four young children, the log home was spacious and allowed each family to have their own space, for quiet time, and for four energetic little people (ages 5, almost 2, and 16 month old twins) to roam. The sunrises and sunsets over the lake were spectacular! We took advantage of the fire pit and enjoyed our late afternoon and evenings around the fire. Loren, the property manager, was wonderful, extremely accommodating and went out of his way to make our stay a great experience. We definitely will return at some point for another family getaway.

Excellent summer retreat

Great place to stay for a guys get together. The house is immaculate and had comfortable beds with extra air mattress and blankets if needed. There is a dock across 169 that we had access too. We rented a pontoon for the day and just docked it when we needed to come in. Steve was an excellent communicator and very punctual with his responses. I would definitely recommend this home for any kind of gathering!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

I'll start by addressing my two concerns, and why they are non-issues that should not get in the way of you deciding to rent this property. Proximity to the road and the non-refundable fee. The non-refundable fee is the easy one. This property is exactly what you see in the pictures. No gimmicks or creative camera work. Plan ahead and commit to your dates and you'll be more than happy you did. Second, while close to the road, it ends up being almost unnoticeable even with truck traffic. The cabin is well insulated and the road noise goes unnoticed most of the time. Traffic at night wasn't bad at all and never got in the way of sleep. There is more than enough space for people to spread out or gather at this property which is great depending on how the day went or when people wake up. Great lake views from the second floor as well or just lounging in the great room in the morning/afternoon/evening. There is also a generous amount of space in the kitchen. The kitchen is also a huge plus here. Sometimes vacation properties are lacking in the basics even though they have a kitchen. You will not be disappointed by this kitchen. You will have what you need for the majority of meals. Definitely worth a night in to save money or just enjoy the property at night. The beds and bedding are also top notch. Honestly better than most hotels. Cleanliness of the bedding was also superb. Looks and feels new. I could keep going on, but this property is best experienced. This was worth every penny and you will be getting your money's worth.

Exceptional place by Lake Mille Lacs!!!

Our summer was so crazy with soccer that we desperately needed a getaway, spend time on a boat, kayaking, jet skiing or just playing by the lake. This place looked so beautiful but the PayPal payment was a concern. Since I was at work my husband paid the amount. Later when we came back and were distributing the expenses I realised my husband had overpaid (he even paid the VRBO fee to the owner). Next day I texted the owner and by afternoon the amount of $112 was credited back to our account. This speak very high of the owner's integrity, so go ahead and book without any hesitation. As for the house the pics don't do justice, as soon as we entered we were in awe of the place......the kids called it a Log Palace :). Its so beautiful and spacious, very clean and well maintained, the kitchen had all the basic essentials needed, and then there's the den.......just amazing. We came back home with pictures that made all our family and friends jealous, beautiful memories and perfectly relaxed for Fall Soccer!!!

Why they chose this property

My brother and I built this Log Home in this location because of the beautiful view of Mille Lacs Lake to the East and the picturesque marshlands to the west. We originally built this home as a Model for our Log Home company and have since decided to open it to the public for their weekly rental enjoyment.
