This secluded and private one-bedroom cottage has two gas stoves to keep you toasty in winter and A/C to keep you cool in summer as you enjoy the country views out of every window. Comfortably appointed and super clean, the cottage features an enclosed porch, a large outside deck, a cozy living/dining/kitchen area, and a fenced-in backyard. The deck has a gas grill and dining table with umbrella. You are centrally located to great hiking, lakes, skiing, and charming towns. The lovely town beach on Lake Garfield is a 3 minute drive away. And folks tell us the bed has the most comfortable queen mattress! Across the road, there is, in fact, a beaver lodge! Three night minimum for holiday weekends.

The beaver lodge was everything we could have asked for. Beautifully kept and equipped, set back with a view of the woods. Relaxing and a short distance from lakes, trails...
We enjoyed our long weekend at the Beaver Lodge. It was the perfect size for a couple and a couple of dogs. We had no issues, everything was as described in the listing. The location was great. In a quiet area, but still close to many downtown areas around the Berkshires. Mass MOCA was an hour away, but worth the drive. The Beaver Lodge was a perfect spot for a relaxing weekend.
Our stay at Beaver Lodge was a great getaway. The house was perfect for a couple. A great place to enjoy the quiet. Joel was very responsive. An easy drive into Great Barrington and other villages in the Berkshires. Would stay there again and would recommend staying there to anyone.
Great stay at charming Beaver Lodge- small but has everything needed for two people with lots of extra special touches. Loved relaxing on the expansive deck and conveniently located to Berkshire towns and attractions ! Hosts are excellent and easy to communicate with .
This cottage in the woods has been updated and thoughtfully prepared, providing many comforts and amenities while still preserving rustic charm in a beautiful setting. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will return.
Great cottage right in my home town for the holiday weekend. We spend so little time in the place BUT it was clean! Warm! Great space peace and quiet. The bed was amazing and plenty of anything we needed. Thank you! A must repeat for sure.
Joel’s place was perfect for a weekend getaway. Clean and just the right size. He was a gracious host. Our stay couldn’t have been better. We hope to stay here again!
Joel's property is a cozy little getaway with everything a couple (in our case, with a 9-month-old in tow) could need. The place is impeccably clean and well-equipped for dinner, lounging, etc...with a nice outdoor area. Neighbors were friendly - especially JoJo the dog who I got well acquainted with :)
Easy access to Great Barrington, Otis and all you could need in the Berkshires.
10/10 would stay again
The property was very well-maintained, clean and well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable.
The host was very responsive.
Would stay again if in the area.
Just returned from our stay at The Beaver Lodge. Very clean and comfortable with easy check in and out. Communication with owner was easy and helpful.
We would definitely recommend.
The lodge was exactly what we wanted - a quiet, isolated escape from the city but also close to a lot of the charming Berkshire towns.
It had everything we needed - plenty of space to unwind, full kitchen that we used, comfortable bed and it was very pet friendly. The gas stoves were the perfect touch for those cold nights
The hosts were very responsive via text. They also provided us great recommendations
We would definitely stay again if coming again.
This was our second stay at the Beaver Lodge, and we can’t say enough positive about this clean, cozy, well stocked getaway in the Berkshires. Joel was a very accommodating and attentive host, quick to respond to requests, and he made sure we were well taken care, especially when a large snowstorm blanketed the area. Kitchen and bathroom are modern and super clean, allowing us to prepare some fabulous meals over the course of the weekend. The backyard is fenced in, so our dog could run off leash. And the property is ideally situated, very much off the beaten path, but still close to all the modern conveniences of Greet Barrington (Guidos market!), the Norman Rockwell Museum (incredible!), and lots of walks and hiking trails. Can’t recommend it enough.
My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was immaculate inside and outside. Easy communication with the owner. My wife loved sitting outside sitting on the deck just reading. There is lots to see in Great Barrington. If you want a nice clean quiet place to go. I highly recommend staying at Beaver Lodge. We plan on visiting again.
The cottage was superclean and uncluttered, with a comfortable full size bed, nice deck, and wooded setting. It's set back in a private way on a road with little shoulder for walking and the occasional cars that go by drive fast. Monterey is a cute town. We went to the big used book sale at the library, which seemed to bring the whole town out. We recommend High Lawn Dairy in Lee for ice cream and Gedney Farm for dinner.
