The Great Catsby is a quaint and colorful historic Wallace 4BR house listed on the National Register of Historic Homes. Filled with whimsical cat art gathered from around the world, we call it Catsby for short. Grill out or cook a nice meal in the remodeled kitchen, watch a movie on the comfy sectional with double recliners, enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine on the front stone patio or covered back porch. Walk 2 blocks to town for Wallace’s fun shops, restaurants, and bars.

February in Wallace

Not a better place to be if you ask me! Snow and sun with a beautiful southern exposure. Cold nights and mornings and the furnace was very effective. The kitchen was well stocked, which I always appreciate in a Vrbo. And the hosts are so chill and on top of everything. Couldn’t ask for more!

Birthday celebration with old friends

We five, middle aged women had an idyllic time with historic Wallace, and this home was the perfect spot to launch our adventures from. It was comfortable, well appointed and just a couple blocks from downtown, the bike path, and trailheads for good hiking. I suspect we will be back next fall - we loved it so much!

Wallace stay

We had a nice stay in Wallace. The house was a a great location for The Hiawatha trail and hiking. Well stocked kitchen. Only issue was that it was really warm up stairs. We had all fans going. The AC did very little for the top level.

Lovelt, stylish house

Its a great town to stay in and the house was really fun. The eclectic style makes it even more fun to pick who gets what room. Kitchen and the back porch area are really nice. East walk to downtown. Owners gave east instructions/directions. Would definitely come vack when there is more time to stay.

Place was oh so cute. I love all the cats and owls. Very whimsical. My type of home. Just a few things. We did not have any extra toilet paper. Just a small, used roll when we arrived. 4 adults overnight need to have access to another roll of toilet paper. My husband walked to the store to grab more. Upstates was hot. Maybe open the windows in tbe afternoon for airflow?

We live in Wallace and own several small businesses here. We first came to Wallace in 2018, fell deep in love with the mountainous area and the town and most of all the people, and quickly decided to take an early "retirement", quit our professor jobs and move here! We also own the Church House vacation rental, Cogs Gastropub, and Spokehouse E-bike Rentals.

Why they chose this property

This property caught our attention for its historic details and Queen Anne Victorian style. The woodwork, the architecture, the stained glass, the vintage-styled bathroom, the large old windows, all of it charmed us. And the fact that it had a beautiful modern kitchen was the icing on the cake!

What makes this property unique

The Great Catsby is a great option for people traveling with family and friends due to its 4 bedrooms, spacious living room with sectional sofa, grills, and board games. Kids and cat/animal lovers may find the quirky collection of animal-themed art and decor fun and amusing. It's also a fine option for even just a romantic getaway, especially with the comfy king bed with TV and electric fireplace mounted next to the bed. And being located just a few blocks from downtown Wallace makes for an easy walk to all the shops, eateries, and fun pubs in town.
