Nur einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Strand entfernt (ca. 5-10 Minuten zu Fuß) bietet das Southern Comfort on the Bay im historischen Viertel von Cape Charles, Virginia, Luxus und Komfort, während es den Gästen die Pracht und den Charme eines Wunderschön restauriertes Haus aus den 1920er Jahren. Dieses Haus bietet ein perfektes Gleichgewicht zwischen Alt und Neu und verfügt über alle modernen Annehmlichkeiten des Eigenheims, wobei der Charme und die Handwerkskunst der 1920er Jahre erhalten bleiben. Bei der Renovierung des Hauses wurden zahlreiche Verbesserungen vorgenommen, darunter Arbeitsplatten aus Granit, Geräte aus Edelstahl und geflieste Badezimmer. Die Küche verfügt über einen hochmodernen JenAir-Herd mit Innengrill, der allen Spaß macht. Dieses Haus verfügt über neue Möbel, komfortable Betten und bietet allen Komfort, den man sich im Urlaub wünscht.

Das Spielzimmer bietet stundenlangen Spaß und Unterhaltung für Kinder und Erwachsene. Spiele, Bücher und Rätsel sind für alle Altersgruppen verfügbar.

Das Southern Comfort on the Bay befindet sich eine Straße von der Mason Street entfernt, wo Sie Restaurants und Geschäfte finden. In den Läden in der Mason Street können talentierte lokale Künstler wunderschöne Küstengemälde kaufen.

A Very Welcoming House

We just loved this house! It was very clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and had a wonderful porch with rockers! It was a short 14 minute walk to the beach and we made sure to watch every sunset. We will be back!

Great Place to Stay in Cape Charles

Southern Comfort on the Bay was a nice fit for our group. The game room was a huge hit for the kids (6, 9 and 12). Nice well kept home. We were only a block and a half from the rest of our group and having a golf cart makes all the difference. Only complaint I have is we were not made aware of the ice maker not working.

Great house, convenient location

Great property, conveniently located and walkable to just about everything you’ll want to see and do in Cape Charles. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the front porch, the convenience of the outdoor shower after sandy trips to the beach and the game room area complete with foosball table. The house is not lavishly furnished - the bathrooms are perfectly adequate but not exceptional, and you may want to bring items like sharp knives for any cooking you plan to do - but we were happy with our stay here (family of 5 with 3 kids ages 8 and under).

So Pleased with Southern Comfort on the Bay

My family of six adults gathered here for a significant weekend for us, one of celebration and memories for a dearly departed family member and friend. We traveled to Cape Charles to sail aboard a Tall Ship, which made a special stop and journey into the Chesapeake Bay to honor and remember one of their own. We were entirely comfortable at Southern Comfort, really delighted with this truly special home, obviously so well-maintained by its owners, and we would have enjoyed staying longer for just all this area has to offer. Amenities have carefully provided, and the home has been beautifully restored - the perfect blend of historical and modern. I am pleased to hear the homeowners are beginning work now on the house next door which I am sure will also be wonderful when completed. We were ideally a very short walk to Cape Charles shops and restaurants and the beach - and enjoyed meeting so many hospitable townspeople. We thank the homeowners for this introduction to Cape Charles and their Southern Comfort on the Bay and thank them for working with us as our schedule evolved, making sure the home was perfectly cleaned and stocked for our arrival, beach puzzles ready in the parlor! Thank for you the kind note and flowers, too, a special touch; we'll be looking for happy reasons to return!

Another great week at Southern Comfort!

This was our 3rd year back at Southern Comfort and it was just like coming home! Our kids have started calling it “our Cape Charles House”—they love it here and The owners do a great job of keeping everything clean, ready, and easy for us! Our family stayed at Southern Comfort for 2 weeks. Debbie and her husband are lovely people. They are easy to communicate with and even sent us messages about events around town. This is a lovely house. We enjoyed our stay very much. More information about the property would be helpful on the VRBO site. There are 2 lovely modern but period-piece bathrooms--one with a tub and one with a shower. It would have been helpful to know that there was one shower. The information about the town and property was in a drawer. The owner responded very quickly to all of our questions prior to the trip. Some of the questions before our trip at checkout could have been resolved with a paragraph and more information on the VRBO site. Answers to a couple of questions at the end of our trip when checking out, which required that we call the owner, who responded quickly, could have been noted in the information about the house in the drawer.

Reunited

After a long 15 months of Covid, we met up with friends that we saw last in Feb 2020 at Cape Charles. This property provided everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and decorated nicely. The only thing that would have helped would have been for the checking in and out lists to be on a table. We did not know to turn the hot water on... we figured it out after the second persons shower... lol. We investigated and found the switch to flip. On our last day, I opened the coffee table drawer and found the instructions. It was all good!!! We had a blast and would highly recommend this property and the owner!! Thank you!!

Nice place

We were there for a wedding. Overall the place us very comfortable, and I would book it again. The sofa could use replacing. In sinks in the middle, and is very low to the ground. The upstairs bathroom toilet and sink are loose. It would also be great if you have access to a golf cart.

Our family visited Cape Charles to explore the Eastern Shore of Virginia years ago. We found that Cape Charles provides a great balance of activity, history, nature, and relaxation. With our busy schedules, we look forward to visits to "the shore" and have come to appreciate Southern Comfort on the Bay more than we ever imagined.

Our home is one of the nicest in Cape Charles, and we talk a lot of pride in maintaining the home to keep it clean, updated and comfortable for guests. Off street parking is on site which takes the headache out of parking!
