The apartment was very clean. It appears everything was remodeled within the past couple of years, with quality appliances. The kitchen was well stocked with the standard items. Both bathrooms were very clean. The showers were fantastic. We just used the bathroom with the walk-in shower, and did not use the shower/tub combo. With a very easy sliding shower door. The kitchen and baths both had small guest boxes filled with soap, pods for laundry, shampoo, conditioner: things you need that you might not think about bringing. Both bedrooms were inviting, with comfortable beds and smart tv's. We have been visiting Highlands for years, and everyplace in Highlands tends to have very slow regular cable issues. If you use any of the pay apps to watch movies like Netflix, Amazon, etc., bring your login and password so you can continue to watch them. The unit has a washer and dryer that work. Both bedrooms had smart tv's, and a 3rd smart tv in the living room. The A/C works very well. Again, very well.
A couple points of note: Yes, the unit is above a convenience store and gas station. They start opening at 6am and close at 10pm. I am a very light sleeper and it woke me up. The stairs up to the unit are a floor and a half. They were easy to walk, but may be a challenge for some guests.
Overall, the unit is wonderful. We stayed 4 nights in July. We will definitely be staying there again. The listing agent communicates very quickly if you have any issues.
My family (with a 16 year old boy and an 11 year old girl) stayed here for Thanksgiving week and it was perfect. The kids loved the convenience of being able to run down to the store if they wanted a drink or snack, and the easy walk to shops and restaurants downtown kept us in the middle of everything without the noise of neighbors. The kitchen was well appointed with all we needed to whip up a Thanksgiving feast, though we were also pleasantly surprised to see local restaurants also open as an option for the holiday. This was our second time staying in this apartment and we will be back!
Went well
A little surprised that the apartment is on top of a convenience store but it was actually a nice amenity. Property in a great location

A Few things to know...
We chose this location because it would charming to stay above the "market"... well between the time we reserved and our trip the "market" has been sold and become a full blown gas station. They do not close at 6pm, the close at 10pm. We stayed in unit the right on the very busy street. Every person who has a diesel truck or sports car without a muffler makes no less than 75 trips up and down the road all day starting at 5am continuing until well after midnight. The folks who work int he gas station report to work between 4am & 5am- we know because when they arrive they are certain to make as much noise as possible.
We expressed our disappointment with the management folks- they seemed to hear us but none went out of their way. Zero follow-up... they tell you they have a phone number you can text and will receive a response... I sent 3 separate texts over the course of 3 days and have yet to receive a response. The only TV that works is in the living room. No curtains on the windows in the bedroom that faces the gas pumps- so bring thumbtacks and a sheet to make your own- blinds do not close either. Apartment was VERY clean and well appointed otherwise. Other than lack of sleep and ungodly street noise- great place to stay!

Great property, but no wi-fi
We went to the apartment that we rented and there was a guest already there. He said to check with the management office across the street because they moved us.. The other apartment was fine - it looked a lot like the one we thought we rented. The only issue was that there was no Wi-Fi. No television, no cell phone service and no Wi-Fi. The girl at the office told us that when we checked in, so they were aware of it. The apartment itself was very nice- well appointed and in a great location. And clean. It was disappointing not be able to make calls, use wi-fi or watch TV, however.
This was a good location. Easy to walk to town. Even though over a store, the store is not open all night so noise issues. Blinds on windows do not keep all light out, so bring your sleep mask. I would stay here again.
The place was very nice and very clean. We loved the floor plan. The street was busy and noisy
We would stay at this place again.
Bring some kind of machine to block out noise from the busy street. A small air purifier machine with a fan is all you need. The manager was great and was there for any questions.
The property sits above a good market that had breakfast sandwiches to go on weekday mornings. Breakfast at Blue Bike and dinner at the Mill were right behind us,, a 2 minute walk. It took less than 10 minutes to walk to Main Street in Highlands for other restaurants and shopping. AC worked great; the rooms were dark at night; bed situation perfect for two teenage boys and us parents. We slept and ate well after fun activities in the area. Apartment we were in was not the number listed but still convenient and ladies in the market helped us figure it out before Todd could call us back, which he did quickly. It was a great stay and we hope to be back! .
We were only in town for a long weekend, but the property was comfortable enough for a longer stay. Very close to good restaurants and shopping, and we even got to play a pick up game of pickle ball across the street at the Rec. Center.
Fantastic stay. The proximity to town was great with the ability to walk to dinner and shopping. The kids loved their room and the rooms were extremely well decorated and comfortable. The civic center and pool across the street was nice to use for workouts and a good place for the kids on rainy days. The checkin/out process was seamless.

Perfect in every way- place, cleanliness, location, quiet, owner! Don’t let the location of above a convenience store scare you. It was great to walk downstairs for coffee and hot breakfast - or anything you forgot to bring, plus, they close at 6:00pm. We will definitely use again!
The apartment is just as pictured/described, and the location could not have been more convenient. Todd is a very responsive and communicative host. So delighted we chose this place for our weekend in Highlands and would do so again.
The location and cleanliness was perfect. We will select this property by default. Walking distance to the entire downtown area. Two great restaurants 100 yards away.
This was a great, no frills rental in a good location. We could easily walk downtown. Our biggest issue was that we only had 4 towels for 5 guests, so we had to wash daily and just make it work. Todd and I had a bit of a hard time connecting because he preferred phone calls instead of texts/emails. I was often without service because we were hiking or driving in more remote locations, so it made it difficult to communicate, and our towel issue was never resolved. Overall though, I would recommend the rental. It was clean, exactly as pictures and super convenient to anything you could want.
This was a cute place to stay. It does sit over the market with an adjoining gas station. We did not realize this aspect of the gas station. Even so, it was convenient if you forgot to bring anything with you (like some gloves, which I purchased down stairs). The bedrooms are very good sized with their own bathrooms, which was ideal for our stay. It was definitely within a quick walk to Main Street, which was great for the Wine Festival activities. Todd was very helpful and the communication was great. Would stay here again!
