I'll start with the pros- beautiful night views, convenient location, secluded.
Cons- sheets and towels were in a pile on the bed and we were unsure if they had been cleaned. The starlink was not where we were told to look— it was found underneath the camper. There was not enough propane to keep the heat on in 34 degrees weather and the additional propane tanks were empty. There was trash dispersed around the outside of the property that likely flew out of the "burn barrel". Overall, it has a lot of potential but much room for improvement.
We ended up needing to check in a day late for personal reasons so I understood that the first night would not be refunded. However, the directions to the place were so bad that we were unable to find it and none of the locals had never heard of it. So we ended up having to get a motel room. The owner has not communicated with me again once I asked for a refund. That wasn’t the only issue. Even before we got there he said there probably wasn’t going to be gas there for the generator and said we could “run out” and get some and he would reimburse. Had we of found it “running out” for gas would have been 36 miles ONE WAY to get gas. Beware of this renter. I am still trying to get a refund for the one night.
Secluded in an open dessert. This was definitely a place to unwind and de-stress. The stars were overwhelming each night. The camper was a perfect balance for me. Nice and comfortable without diminishing the relationship I was experiencing with the natural beauty of the Chihuahuan Dessert.

Not Ready for Prime Time
Location was as expected, middle of nowhere. Quiet and serene. Unit wasn't clean. Sheets were obviously used. (Maybe if you're not going to clean, tell us to bring our own?) Generator was difficult to start first nite, started right up nite 2, and never got it started day 3. Starlink wifi was easy to setup, except that the password I was given did not work.
Arrived at 4:00 pm. Instructions provided by host were spot on! Setup of camper and generator were very easy. This is a diamond in the rough if you are looking for family time and bonding.
Very remote, which was what we were looking for!
Book it if you get a chance. Stars were awesome!
Thanks again Mr. Mills!
What can I say about this incredibly beautiful and idyllic location? Everything was just absolutely amazing. The owner provided us with every amenity you could dream of when visiting such a wonderful frontier. A darling camper stocked with water, a generator, propane, gas, internet (can you believe it?!) and even a grill. Situated perfectly for scenic views (don’t miss out on these sunsets and night skies) and privacy, you really can’t find a better place to stay in Terlingua than this camper. With a family of three and our family dog, we didn’t have a single need or want that wasn’t fulfilled in advance by the amazing foresight of our generous host. Five stars don’t even come close to the accolades I want to give.
