Stay at Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. No bridges or causeways to the island exsist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills at each pool area. 11 hard tennis courts available for play and always complimentary. Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas. Our full service concierge can also arrange for everything from massages to fishing charters. Be sure to catch a Pirate Show with the resort’s own Red Beard the Pirate. Join a complimentary water aerobics class, nature walk or yoga on the beach when scheduled. Whether you wish to spend your time with us on the go or taking it slow, you’re sure to enjoy your new Memories at the Speed of Old Florida.

We particularly loved riding around on the golf cart and spending time on the beach at Stump Pass. My only problem with my stay was the particular villa that we stayed in. I do realize that I requested a standard unit, but it was completely outdated and didn't have a clean feeling. The air conditioner was not working all that great either. We were there for a wedding, so I was able to see multiple other villas. Our villa was nowhere close to being as nice. I will recommend Palm Island Resort to my friends, just not that particular villa.

That in itself should tell you how we feel about this place.We want to try and keep this our little secret but realize that for it to stay in business people have to know about it so we tell everyone.When we are there we feel like we're a thousand miles away. It's so quiet and pristine, the best shell collecting beach and welcoming place.Whoever is is in charge of seeing to it that employees make you feel welcome has done his/her job well.

From the informative welcome at the Reception to the friendly check-out, it was lovely. The reseort is beautiful, quiet, peaceful -- and manages to be upscale without being stuffy or intimidating. We had a great view and comfortable accommodations. Our unit, and I realize they are all different owners and decor, was nice. My ony suggestion would be that the chairs on the balcony are in need of replacement. The beach was wonderful -- just what you dream of. I went to yoga (the instructor is wonderful and lovely) and we went to a nature walk/talk that was offered mid-day too which was also great and educational and fun. The restaurant was "just right" and offered many choices. We took the water taxi to the mainland one night to the other restaurant which was also nice, but a bit more crowded. Be careful to communicate clearly with the boat taxi about when you want to return (we had a near miss due to communications, but made it fine).

Staff was Amazing from the first phone call, once we arrived every member of staff was smiling, friendly and very accommodating! We booked the kayaking tour with Kris she Was Wonderful! Our unit had Spectacular Views!!! Although some guest stated the unit was dated we Loved it! it was Very Warming and we felt Cozy not stuffy!!! Would stay there without any hesitation!!!

Stayed for a wedding

One thing I will say is that the furniture and fixtures seemed very old, like they haven't been upgraded since the 90's. This place is great to stay if all you want to do is relax and not do much other than go to the beach. I liked their on-site restaurant and bar and complimentary water taxi to their other restaurant off the island. The staff was friendly and nice, always available to help with whatever we needed.

A quiet, restful, and refreshing place to vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We made Palm Island Villa our home away from home for a week in a comfortable one bedroom villa. We were on the 2nd floor and could see the ocean and sunsets from our lanai or living room window. Whether walking, riding bikes or golf cart, you can take a peaceful walk all through the resort. No cars are allowed beyond the registration station. Gathering shells and walking the beach or island paths occupied much of our time, but the ride on the water taxi, seeing the egrets nest and dolphin was also enjoyable. All staff we encountered were super helpful and professional. The food, setting and service was great at the Island Bay Rum Restaurant and the mainland restaurant, Leverocks, reached by water taxi. There are many other activities available including tennis, golf, fitness center.

A few downers, but a great beach!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The room's couch had brown stains on it and looked like it was pulled off the side of the road from someones trash pile in the 70's. I had to lay towels on it to sit. We left some baby teething toys in the freezer and called when we got home. Instead of management going and looking for it, they called housekeeping and they said they saw nothing. I had put them in the freezer consciously before we left to take with us on our ride home. We had already packed everything, I just threw them in the freezer to cool, but forgot to grab them as we walked out. I was disappointed as those teething toys(3) were at least $40. Other than that, the beach was beautiful and the view was nice. Everyone was friendly and accommodating! I was just disappointed in the dirty furniture and the disservice with the toys.
