Communication Strained. Towels Excluded.
The place is definitely rustic. We were informed of the need to bring towels only after initiating a request for check-in instructions. The host’s note included a reminder to bring towels which was news to us. We travel worldwide and have never not had towels provided in rentals. His response was to go buy them. Arriving late at night and then having to shop for towels which indicate they should be washed before using was not helpful. Shocking that VRBO doesn’t call out basics not included.
Cabin was clean and welcoming. Nice decor. Exterior grounds could use some sprucing up, The property is in a convenient location so we were able to explore several areas within a fairly large radius going southwest to Lake Winnipesaukee and North to North Conway and much more.
I was so impressed with the property. It had everything we needed and more. It was my birthday weekend so it was a perfect way to spend it. I am hoping to rent there again.
This is my second time staying in this cabin. It is a true cabin in the woods and very close to White Lake. The back deck is nice for morning coffee, although it is not as private as in the past with the new house next door being quite close.
The cabin was clean and the upstairs window fans kept the bedrooms cool enough at night.
Overall it was a great week and we spent everyday sitting at the beautiful lake. Also did the hike around the lake twice.
Our Cabin stay was cut short by a day due to the following issues/safety.
The day we arrived at the Cabin, the left Railing on front porch was not stable. (Safety Concern). The Cabin was so musty that it triggered my Asthma. There were food on the living room floor and you could tell that no one was there recent to clean or vacuum the cabin. We paid a lot of money for the cabin and we did not get what we wanted. The Ceiling fan in the bedroom on the first floor was missing Cover. The patio furniture on the deck has mold on Umbrella and had holes on it. The Gas Grille was dirty. We did the best we could on cleaning and it was not our responsibility, I did send a message to the Owner and of course we got no response.
Great stay! We have rented from John now for 2 years in a row. Great little place. Upstairs bedrooms can get toasty but other than that, all was as expected! We had 3 adults and 1 child and there was plenty of space. We didn't get to use the lake but we hadn't planned to anyway as its the middle of the winter, so cant comment on how close/far/easy the lake was from the house.
The cabin was clean, and exactly as pictured. We skied at King Pine which is a GREAT family mountain and only 15 - 20 minutes from the cabin. Renters should bring bath and dish towels, firewood, and all food, drinks, and paper products. One roll of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels were provided. Dishwashing liquid was also provided. Would definitely stay again!
We stayed at this property to attend a nearby wedding. It was convenient to the wedding venue and driving distance to shopping and restaurants. As we stayed in October, the foliage was beautiful and the surroundings were very picturesque.
We loved our weekend at the property. The cabin is incredibly clean and comfortable. There are no towels provided, but the owner notified me before we went. There is not a large assortment of cooking pans/sheets available. The path to the lake in the backyard has been blocked off, but it’s a 3 minute drive to the entrance to the state park. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend!
We have stayed at this cabin before and it was just as we remembered. We had a great time and enjoyed the location. Walking around the lake was very pretty!
Thanks for having us as guests! The cabin was really cute and had plenty of space for 4 people. Kitchen was well equipped with cooking supplies/utensils. We loved that we could walk to the lake and there was a fire pit at our disposal (we did not use it but great touch!) Very cozy little spot. My only feedback would be to supply more toilet paper and paper towels for a 2 night stay. Otherwise, we loved it and had a blast!
