Very nice home tucked in the woods. Quiet, peaceful, perfect accommodations with everything you would want and need. Short distance from all great rock hunting shorelines and we found amazing yooperlites too. Goals were achieved and being able to come back
to this gem of a place was
Really enjoyed staying at this property. We weren’t there very much but it’s located very close to grand Marias and we appreciated the hosts for making this a great visit.
We had a great time in the Grand Marais and Upper Peninsula area. Given our hosts location we were able to cover a lot of territory, from Tequamenon Falls to Munising, with golf at the Newberry Country Club (very nice course). Our only problem was backing out of the host parking area, which emptied into the street quickly and almost blindly. But the residence was very comfortable and clean.
It was a comfort to stay in a place that felt like home. Made the overall vacation even more enjoyable to come home after a long day to relax. Fantastic place!
The Cozy Pine was the perfect launch/landing pad for our busy days exploring nature in Pictured Rocks and on the beach in Grand Marais. There were 4 of us, two adults and two children. Our host was responsive and helpful the small handful of times we reached out, but other than that we enjoyed our privacy. Check in was easy and the property wasn’t hard to find. I rated the location a 5 because it was the perfect distance between all the places we wanted to visit, but you really do need to bring everything you'll need with you, including a full spread of groceries! It comes with the territory and I have no complaints, but it is no exaggeration that this place is remote.
I'd stay again :)
Not wanting to camp, we were looking for a place close to Pictured Rocks where we could spend a few days while exploring the park. The property is incredibly close to the east end of the park. The town of Grand Marais also has a beach where we spent one afternoon. We spent most of our days out and about, getting very lucky with the weather. The property was clean and exactly as described in the listing. For us it served its purpose as a home base for exploring the area.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Cozy Pine. My favorite part was how quiet it was. Just down the hill is Lake Superior and the town is about a 2 minute drive or a really good walk. The accommodations were clean and welcoming and I loved being able to sit on the patio in the morning. Would recommend!
This property was centrally located to many of the UP attractions we wanted to visit. It was clean, everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and everything was good.
The basement itself was fine however it had a musty odor and a loud dehumidifier. In the morning I let the owner know that there was a smell and that I would empty the dehumidifier hoping that would help. He responded that it had rained and the dehumidifier should be ran continuously. He also offered to empty it if I wanted. We left expecting to be back in the afternoon but did not arrive till later that night. At some point, the owner came into the basement and emptied the dehumidifier without letting me know. I felt extremely uncomfortable that night as did my children. While I appreciate the host emptying the water even though I told him I would do it, the lost of privacy and sleepless night trumped our experience.
Kind and respectful owners and beautiful accomodations
Wonderful owners. Extremely kind and respectful when others of the family was there. I appreciate them and great people. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for everything.
Everything was just as described. We had a great time. There are so many things to see and do around the area, we were barely at the property. Though, when we were, it had all the comforts of home. The hosts answered messages promptly and made everything hassle free.
Great location just a short drive to town and 10 miles to the Rocks on Lake Superior.
Upon arrival, we were early for check in, we were greeted by Joan and her faithful companion, Cocoa. Unit is a downstairs, private entry. A king bedroom, and a queen bedroom, off the living and dining room. Bunkbeds off the Dining Room, double bed is n bottom, but not in a separate bedroom. Has its own seating area with couch and chair. Another seating area in Living room with 1 TV. Smaller kitchen but very workable. Cute bathroom and good water pressure in the shower. Has a bathtub.
Bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately we had high winds and the power went out about 9 pm. No problem though. The unit had candles and Joan brought us another one. We also had battery lights/lanterns. Power came back on during the night.
Only 2 stores in town were open. No Restaurant’s were open yet. But that’s why we booked this place and brought our own food.
We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back.
Thank You Joan for your hospitality.
Husband & I frequently visit Grand Marais at least 4x a yr, mainly during snowmobiling season, but at least 1x during the fall. This was our 1st time staying here, very nice place, convenient to the trails as we rented a orv to ride the trails. Would stay again!
The set up was as shown in the photos. Very clean and well kept. It is basically a walkout basement apartment and in the woods so it is dark. If you are using it for a central point to do a lot of activity and sight seeing it will be perfect. The manager was very responsive regarding a couple of questions we had.
The only drawback was that the heating system created a loud hum in the apartment, so if you are looking for a place to hang out in the cooler seasons when the furnace is running you may find that difficult. We did, and it is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.
Cozy pines was a lovely little place tucked into the woods. The owners were friendly and answered any questions we had quickly. I would definitely stay here again!
Great little getaway spot. Short drive to Grand Marais which has a couple good spots to eat, easy drive to more northern spots in Pictured Rocks park, and roughly an hour from Munising where the cruises leave from. House very clean, beds comfy, spacious layout.
Very personable upstairs owner. Peaceful atmosphere. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room! Only downside was lack of good cell phone service and cleaning fee seemed excessive to me.
My husband and I stayed 5 nights with our 12 year old granddaughter. The place served us well. We know Grand Marais, having visited many times over the years, either staying at a friends cottage or camping. Your apartment worked great. We cooked our own meals and enjoyed the entire space, indoors and out, to come home to after outdoor adventuring around the area. It was quiet and close enough to everything.
