About this property

Private mountain getaway on 45 acres of pristine forest with trails, small pond, and wild life. The restored cabin is over 100 years old has a large deck with rocking chairs and deck chairs and tables. Lounge on the deck and look for wildlife sighted including deer, red fox, bobcat, wild turkey and more. Relax with no surrounding lights and star gaze. Hike or ride your bike on the many trails. Play in the creeks and pond. There are no neighbors the nearest house 1/2 mile away. Pets are welcome with a dog door and a fenced in area in the front lawn.

Inside the cabin is cozy and best for couples. One bedroom with a queen bed, tile bathroom, vaulted ceiling living room with wood burning fire and sleeper sofa, stocked bookshelves, full kitchen, sun room, large front deck and small back deck both with rocking chairs and deck chairs and table. Comfortable inside and outside.

The small quaint town of Burnsville is 20 minutes away and Asheville is a short 45 minute drive.

If you want to get away from it all and try living out in the mountains this is the place.

Relaxing mountain vacation

Cabin was very clean. It was secluded and got to sit on the front porch and watch the birds eat from feeder.

Wonderful cabin

This was a great place I took my lab and she enjoyed the fenced in yard and porch. Close enough to Asheville that we went there with the dog to spend the day. Spent a afternoon in Burnsville nice little town and very dog friendly. Went on long hikes on the property. Brad the owner was very nice and very easy check in and out process. Loved it

Peaceful Escape from Reality

This is my second time staying here. It's a perfect escape from the daily grind and just the right amount of amenities plus - best part - I can bring my doggos with me. My favorite things about the property are having my morning coffee on the front porch, plenty of space for the doggos to run including the trail behind the cabin, and the cozy vibes. If your questioning a stay, just book it!!

Burnsville Cabin

Loved our stay. Brad and Erin have created a beautiful retreat filled with nature and serenity. We enjoyed hiking, exploring Burnsville & the farmer's market - like a mini Asheville with the arts & crafts, music. Our lab loved the beautiful fenced yard and splashing in the creek! But mostly we loved the views and sounds of nature in the outdoor living spaces!

Secluded Cabin

A very serene and calming location to relax, recharge and celebrate our 46th anniversary. Cabin was cozy, clean and well stocked. We loved the outdoor porch and deck for grilling, eating and watching the continuous stream of birds coming to the feeders. Also, appreciated having our collie stay with us at the cabin to enjoy sleeping and watching the birds from the porch and peace of mind of mind that he could come and go in the fenced in yard.

A lovely escape

It was beautiful and everything was as described. If you a want to escape into the woods this is the place. Cabin is quaint and comfy. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard and exploring the property.

Wonderful cabin in the mountains

Charming, quiet cabin nestled in the woods. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful property and our dogs enjoyed vacationing with their people. The cabin is spacious with a great front porch and fenced in yard for the dogs. Brad was super responsive and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Just a peace (piece) of Heaven!

This is a lovely place, so peaceful and wonderful. Completely stocked very comfortable and beautiful. The hosts Erin And Brad are Absolutely lovely and have taken time to make this place lovely for all that visit. Our dogs love the fenced in backyard. We would love to stay again when we’re back in this neck of the woods.

Anniversary Getaway

The property was wonderfully isolated with trees and wildlife galore. The mornings were in the the low 60's and high 50's accompanied by hot coffee the romance of a wood fire. A bird feeder provider us the free entertainment of 15 different species of birds while rocking on the front porch. We took walks during which enjoyed peace and solitude with the back ground sound of a babbling brook. The property owner insured the cabin, built in 1898, was well equipped for us to stay off the grid for the entire week. We did not want to leave and it was a perfect 36th wedding anniversary celebration for us!

Delightful retreat

We enjoyed every minute of our stay here with our 15-month-old Great Dane. Long walks on the trails multiple times daily and a fenced area when we weren't so inclined. Long evenings on the front porch/deck with cool breezes. Excellent mattress. What's not to love?

Peaceful getaway

Very remote, peaceful property. We spent most of the time on the front porch watching hummingbirds and many other birds, and fireflies at night. Great getaway

Awesome place

Magical getaway

This property exceeded our expectations in everyway. The propery sits in a hollow surrounded by nature. The sound of the creek, the flowers, trails etc exumed a beautiful positive energy. The cabin was neat clean and loaded with charm. It was well stocked with all the comforts of home. The owner was responsive and kind. The location was convenient with an easy drive to Burnsville . We have found our happy place and look forward to returning.

Great getaway spot in the mountains!

We very much enjoyed this cabin! We did not have to leave the mountain to enjoy what we came for, which was a place for our dogs and things to do outside. It was very nice to have all that right there and privacy as well! Hosts were amazing, very accommodating and flexible. We'll definitely be back!

Quiet Cabin in the mountains

Nice cabin in an isolated area, with all the comforts of home. Don't drive a sports car or RV up there, the last 1/4 mile is one-lane, rocky and a bit steep at the end. I had a Dodge Caravan, and it had no problems with the terrain. Very nice place, and my 2 small dogs loved having a fenced back yard to run in.

Peace and Tranquility

If you are looking for a place to rest, relax and enjoy nature, this is your place. The cabin is quaint, well stocked, clean, and perfectly nestled in between mountains. The view is perfect. The property is very well maintained and full of personality. My husband and I loved our weekend getaway. We will most definitely return!

Country seclusion

Nestled in a hollow, with steep wooded walls on three sides, lent a feeling of Appalachian seclusion. The stream nearby enchanted us with sound and the steep trails revealed natural secrets at every turn. We felt snugly held by the rustic cabin perched in the hollow and invited by the landscape.

Vacation Getaway

The cabin was nice and peaceful, very secluded. Lots of opportunity for hiking, and sitting on the deck enjoying nature. Would highly recommend if you would like to get away. Also is setup nicely for pets, we didn't have any, but was very well tailored for the 4 legged friends.

Solitude

This place was amazing! Great getaway from the busy hustle of city life, very quite and very secluded! Our dog, Tomatillo had the time of his life exploring the mountain and playing in the creek! We can not wait to come back! The next time we will be bringing our 15 year old daughter so that she can explore nature and unplug from her phone!! 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone!

What We Were Looking For!

The Hollow was exactly as advertised and exactly what we wanted. Serene and peaceful with Burnsville close by for dinner and day trips. The cabin is very clean and everything we needed was there. We want to go back soon.

We live in Asheville and did live in the cabin for almost 10 years we still go up almost every weekend it is free to enjoy nature at its best.

Asheville and Burnsville are both close by yet the cabin location is remote with no other houses in site.

Remote mountain location no other houses, cars or people in site. Nature right out the doorstep with hiking trails out the back door. Enjoy the mountains from the front porch, the bird feeder from the sunroom, and the stars from the deck.
